Chapter 5

"Everyone is talking about it," Lee said in a hushed voice. "It's the latest news."

"I wonder who kidnapped him?" Ling asked.

"It has been over a week," Lee stated. "Whoever did it must be quite smart."

The news of Wei's kidnapping was spreading around the town like wildfire. Every news channel had it on, every newspaper in town had it as it's the headline story of the day, and this was making Chynna frightened by the second. The fear of being caught haunted her soul but she can't give up now, she needs to make him to accept her condition or else her mission will be meaningless.

"Li Jun suspects some of his top rivalries," Lee said.

A smirk found its way to Chynna's face. Her plan was working. Everyone suspected the other mafia bosses who have gotten involved in some ugly fights in the past.

"His kidnapper is a weird person, he hasn't even asked for a ransom," Ling muttered before directing her gaze to Chynna. "Chynna, what do you think about this?"

Chynna shrugged her shoulders as she kept her gaze on her phone, scrolling through her Instagram page. "I nothing to say about it besides its none of my business."

Lee and Ling laughed loudly while their friend just rolled her eyes at them. "Chynna, you are supposed to be interested in this case." Lee laughed.

"If you can trace out where Wei is, you will definitely be promoted in this company and also you will be noticed by The Boss himself," Ling said.

~The Boss has already noticed me. I kidnapped him and have kept hostage for a week.

"Ladies, let's get going," Lee announced. "Today's work is over, so that means we can have fun."

"I'm going home," Chynna said. "You girls have fun.

"Come Chynna." Ling pleaded. "We are going to Starbucks with Delun, Feng, and Barde."

"I need to get back and be with Jin," she muttered. "He needs me right now,"

"Jin is twenty-year-old." Lee cried. "He can handle his pain, you don't need to give your shoulder to cry on."

"Jin is deeply hurt, Lee," Chynna said. She packed her hair in a bun so it won't obstruct her view. "He's lost an admission opportunity into his dream university."

"Really?" Ling asked. "Which university is that?"

"American University," Chynna replied.

"That's one good but expensive University." Ling whistled. "Why didn't he lose the admission?"

"I don't know." Chynna shrugged her shoulders.

~He lost it because of a stupid Mafia Boss who I handled appropriately."

"That's weird, you weren't told at all?" Ling inquired.

"Yep," Chynna muttered. "We weren't told at all. He lost it despite being the highest candidate in the exam."

"I think it's because of the fees," Lee said. "Maybe they didn't want a guy like him to enter their University and I think it's good."

Chynna's eyes widened like a saucer. She couldn't believe her friend just said that. "Why do you say, Lee?"

"That University is expensive and I don't think you should throw out 49,889 USD because you want Jin to go to a University." Lee spat. "If he's that smart, then enrol him into a cheap University, he doesn't always have to get what he wants."

"That University is the best for my brother." Chynna cried. "I will make sure he goes there and nowhere else."

"That's not possible," Lee said. "What can a woman do?"

~Kidnap a well known Mafia Boss and keep as your hostage for a week.

"I will find my way," Chynna said. "I can't come because I want to stay with him and give him a little encouragement."

"How long will you live for Jin? When will you live for yourself? Why don't you behave like Jin is still a child who you need to look after?" Lee asked. "Live your life for yourself, not your younger brother."

"I promised my late parents that I will always support my brother," Chynna said. "My brother is the only living family member I have, and the last thing I'm going to do is dump him at his desperate time of need."

"I pray you don't do something that can put you in danger, all because you want to make your brother happy," Ling said with a sigh while Lee rolled her eyes at her before they left her office. Her two friends found her boring because of the way she behaved, but what they didn't know that their friend's life was more interesting than anyone in the world.

"Jin!" Chynna called. Her hands were sore because of banging continuously on her little brother's door. After getting the sad news Jin locked himself in his room through the week, he wasn't eating anything and this made his sister worried.

"Jin, please open the door!" Chynna cried. "I can't bear to see you like this."

The door opened, and Jin stepped out. His eyes were swollen because of crying, his hair was in a mess but his clothes looked clean.

"Jin!" Chynna cried. She hugged him tightly and left her tears to flow freely.

"Did you know how worried I was?" she chastised. "Why lock yourself?"

"I was sad and hurt," Jin muttered. "I didn't want to face you because of the way I disappointed you."

Jin's eyes were filled with sadness and pain. He locked his room because he thought Chynna was disappointed with him. "I'm sorry for bringing your high expectations down."

Chynna cried more, the look on his face broke her heart, this was the same look he had on the day of their parent "I'm not disappointed at you in fact I'm proud of you," she said before kissing his forehead. "You are going to attend that University. I promise."

Jin didn't want to talk about the admission, all he wanted was to hug the lady who he saw as his mother, father, best friend and sister. The lady who loved him more than he could imagine. He wrapped his hand around Chynna and hugged her tightly; he wanted to make her proud by getting this admission, but he didn't instead he made her cry.

"I'm always proud of you, so never think like that again," she warned before stroking her brother's brown hair. "I love you, little bro."

~I will make sure Wei gives in to my demand no matter what.

"Hello, Chynna," Wei smirked. He wasn't tied to a chair because Chynna untied him. She wasn't scared of him, so she didn't see the reason she should tie him up.

"You lost Wei," Chynna said. "A week has gone by, but your men still haven't found you."

"You are right." Wei laughed. "But they will still trace me here soon."

"They won't find you because no one suspects me." Chynna chuckled. "The only way to leave this place is to do what I told you to do."

"Intrust the chancellor to give your brother's admission back," he said.

"Yes."

"I told you before that it's a no," Wei said, his eyes taking all the physical features he could notice. A part of him admired Chynna for her braveness no woman would ever do this for her brother.

"You have to unless you won't leave this place." Chynna threatened.

"I don't go back on decisions and there's no way a woman will make me go back on my words," he smirked. "Your brother is smart so he will get an admission."

Chynna's temper was being tested. "You stole the admission to his dream University. Do you know how much my brother read for that exam? Do you know how much effort he put into that exam?"

Wei was silent, he didn't know what to say, but he would not give it back to Jin because that was going to hurt his ego.

"A woman kidnapped you and a woman will make you change your decision," Chynna said.

"Challenge accepted Miss Wang Chynna," Wei said. "Let's see if you will be to leave you to your word."

~Oh I will!
