Chapter 7

Chynna sat cautiously next to Wei. Her heart was racing. Why was he so nice to her suddenly? Why does he want to talk?

Wei on the other was tongue-tied. He didn't know what to ask her, all he could do was stare at the lady in front of him. Deep down he knew she was armed with either a knife or something sharp. She won't take any chances with him.

"I'm waiting," Chynna grumbled impatiently, her legs were crossed while the hidden dagger stayed by side.

~I will kill him where he stands if this is a trap.

Goosebumps appeared on her skin. The thought of her killing Wei frightened her. She has never liked the sight of blood before and she never enjoyed being violent, but if she needs to do it, then she will.

~Although if he is dead, my aim of kidnapping him will be incomplete.

"What's your favourite colour?" Wei asked, his voice brought Chynna back to earth.

"Black," Chynna replied. "Yours?"

`Which lady loves black as a colour?

"Same," Wei said. "I thought ladies liked pink, red or any other bright colour."

Chynna chuckled, she wasn't like other girls who loved popular guys, money or expensive gifts. Black is an amazing colour for her.

"I'm not like other girls Wei and I'm sure you know that," she said. "I kidnapped you don't forget that."

Wei laughed. Her courage and braveness were quite capturing, and he was sure she knew that.

"Tell me about yourself." he raised a brow at her. He wanted to know about her background, life and everything there is to know about her.

For a minute Chynna was silent. She didn't know what to say. What was she going to tell him? Why did he want to know about her?

~Play along Chynna besides you are armed and he is not.

"What do you want to know?" Chynna asked, her hands were crossed while her glare was fixed.

"Anything there is to know," he replied.

`Seriously, man?

He didn't want to sound intruding. He just wanted to her well.

"I'm sure you have done your homework," she said. "So you know everything."

"I did my homework, but my result was limited." Wei grinned.

"You know my parent's name, you know how they died, you know my brother." Chynna listed. "What else do you want to know?"

"Why do you love Jin so much?" Wei asked. "Why are you ready to do anything just to make him happy?"

"He's my brother," Chynna replied in a treble voice. "I love him because he is my younger brother."

"No." Wei nodded his head at her. "I've seen ladies who have brothers, and none of them has done what you have. None of them went the extra mile like you."

Chynna shut her eyes. She loved her brother more than everything; he was her world, nothing else could replace him.

"Jin is my world," Chynna muttered. "After our parents passed away, I made a promise that I would always give my brother whatever he needs. I promised to always make him happy. I promised to make sure he never missed our parents."

Wei was silent. He watched her face and eye turn red. He didn't understand the love between siblings, so he couldn't feel what Chynna was feeling right now, but he felt sad for her.

"That's a lot of promises," Wei said. "But you have been keeping you to it."

"I know." Chynna retorted. "Why do you think I kidnapped you?"

"You won't drop this topic, will you?" Wei sighed.

"I won't."

He liked the fact that she was wild, her attitude was perfect for the role of a kidnapper.

"Ask me a question?" Wei ordered.

"I don't take orders from you," Chynna said.

`She is so impossible.

"I wasn't trying to order you, Chynna." Wei laughed. "Just ask."

"Whatever." Chynna flickered her hair back to show she didn't give two fucks about what he just said.

"Your hair is so black." Wei complimented. "I have never seen dark hairs like this."

"I'm half Greece," she mumbled. "My mum was from Greek while my dad from America."

"Okay." Wei drawled. "Greece is a nice place why didn't you stay there?"

"My mum loved The States, and she wanted to live here not in her hometown." Chynna sighed. "On a personal note, I love Greece more than America."

"Why?"

Chynna closed her eyes, and a flashback of her childhood reflected in her head. The movement of the sea, the view of lowlands and mountains made her smile.

"I love being surrounded by the sea, lowlands and mountains." Chynna's smooth voice caught Wei's attention. "I love the historical relief we have. I love the food, the atmosphere, the people. I love everything."

The States only hurt her, she lost her parents, her family and her happiness after moving here.

"Greece showed me love and happiness, but America took everything away from me. My parents died here, my happiness died here, the old Chynna died here and here alone."

"I'm so sorry," Wei muttered. "I can't imagine how it felt after losing them."

"My parents died when I was fifteen and my brother was just six years old," Chynna said as she tried her best to hold the tears in her eyes. "A month after leaving Greece."

"Was it easy to adjust to reality?" Wei asked.

"It was so hard, especially for Jin, he didn't accept the news when he found out about this. Jin became depressed at a tender age, he could cry his heart out." Chynna said. "Living without your parents in a foreign land is hard. They kicked us out of our house because we couldn't pay the rent, we were hungry children who know nothing about their environment and also we didn't know anyone to turn to at our desperate hour ."

"That means you had to earn your money?"

"Yeah," she replied. "I worked as a laundry girl, babysitter, nanny and some other petty jobs just earn money for my brother and I."

Her life story was touching. The pains and trials she went through made him feel sorry for her. A lady like her obviously had no intention to get rich men in her life because her brother was just enough for her.

He did not know if he still wanted to go ahead with his plan
