Chapter 46 A Mice Among The Rabbits

Yan Zhanjin stood in front of the cliff, overlooking the other side of the cliff. He felt a breeze hit him. He tasted the salty taste in the air. He stood there for a while and decided whether it was appropriate for Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie to rescue Yongzheng.

Yan Zhanjin's doctor passion defeated him, so he took out the bamboo whistle and started blowing. After the tenth blows, he saw a man dressed in black coming from the other side. Even when Yan Zhanjin didn't look at his face, he already knew that this person was Zhu Mingyang.

When Zhu Mingyang approached the cliff, Yan Zhanjin's heart began to beat rapidly. He stared at Zhu Mingyang, who looks exactly the same as he was the last time they said goodbyes.

Zhu Mingyang shouted, "Long time no see."

Yan Zhanjin kept staring at Zhu Mingyang. He thought deeply about how handsome Zhu Mingyang is.

Zhu Mingyang then said, "Zhanjin, are you here to see me?"

Yan Zhanjin sighed and said with a smile, "Nonsense." He chuckled lightly. "Where is Yingjie?"

Zhu Mingyang, "He is feeding the chickens."

Yan Zhanjin said, "Mingyang, I need your and Yingjie's help."

Zhu Mingyang asked, "What kind of help?"

Yan Zhanjin said, "Such help will not involve you and Yingjie returning to the martial arts world. I have a patient who voluntarily poisoned himself. I hope you and Yingjie can go down the mountain with me to help this person."

Zhu Mingyang, "If he poisoned himself voluntarily, then it means he wanted to die. Why should we save him if he want to die?"

Yan Zhanjin said, "He don't want to die, he just doesn't want the one he loves to die. He took an stronger poison, before he suck out the poison from his lover's arm, in order to save his lover. I needs Yingjie to use his silver leaf technique to help guide the poison inside his body to the left arm and you use your internal energy to force the poison out from his body. I used this method back then when I was curing Batu." He looked at Zhu Mingyang. "This will not reveal any news about you and Yingjie."

Zhu Mingyang said, "You wait, I'll talk to Yingjie." He walked back and disappeared down the mountain path.

Yan Zhanjin waited for a long time. He knew that Zhu Mingyang was very protective of Gu Yingjie, and Zhu Mingyang would not agree to anything that might harm Gu Yingjie. After waiting for a long time, Yan Zhanjin saw Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie walking towards the cliff.

Gu Yingjie smiled at Yan Zhanjin and said, "Zhanjin…" He looked at Zhu Mingyang. "Mingyang, raise the bridge."

Xue Horan sat by the bed outside the house. He brought a bowl of congee and began to feed Yongzheng. After a few mouthfuls of the rice congee, Yongzheng stopped eating.

Xue Horan said, "Yongzheng, please eat a little more. Yan ge said you must be as healthy as possible for the treatment."

Yongzheng said weakly, "Horan, I can't taste anything. The congee you feed me taste very bitter, even water taste bitter." He coughed, and turned to his side then vomited a mouthful of blood. He wiped his mouth with his right hand.

Xue Horan said, "Yongzheng, what would you like to do?"

Yongzheng said, "I want to watch the sunrise in my favorite spot on the mountain."

Cao Yanmei walked over with a bowl of medicine. She lowered her head and saw the blood on the ground. She said, "Stinky Taoist, Yuan jiejie said you need to drink this. This will help with your red blood." She began to feed the medicine to Yongzheng.

Xue Horan walked back to the kitchen. When he look down at the rice congee, he found some blood in it. He sighed, "Yan ge, please hurry up."

Early the next morning, before the roosters crowing, Xue Horan knelt in front of Yongzheng and said softly, "Yongzheng, wake up."

Yongzheng looked at Xue Horan, "What's the matter?"

Xue Horan smiled and said, "Let's go see the sunrise together."

Xue Horan helped sat Yongzheng sit on the edge of the bed, with his back facing Yongzheng.

Yongzheng asked, "What are you doing?"

Xue Horan, "If you can't walk, I will carry you on my back."

Yongzheng said, "I am heavy."

Xue Horan, "It's okay."

Yongzheng then fell onto Xue Horan's back. Xue Horan carried Yongzheng on his back, they walked out of the main gate into the dirt road, and followed the mountain road up the mountain. Along the way, Yongzheng kept asking Xue Horan if he wanted to rest. After walking for more than an hour, they finally arrived at a lonely little pavilion on a lonely cliff.

Later that morning, Yan Zhanjin showed up with Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie, but Yongzheng was gone. In a fit of anger, Yan Zhanjin began to curse. Rao Zhengsheng, Yuan Xiurong and Cao Yanmei were all awakened by his yelling and cursing.

Cao Yanmei complained, "What's wrong with you?"

Yan Zhanjin asked madly, "Where the hell is he?"

Cao Yanmei, "Who?"

Yan Zhanjin, "Your stinky Taoist. Where is he?"

Cao Yanmei pushed away Yan Zhanjin, only to see an empty bed. She turned around and began to panic.

As soon as Zhu Mingyang saw Cao Yanmei, he took Gu Yingjie's hand and prepared to leave. Yan Zhanjin quickly grabbed Zhu Mingyang's hand.

Zhu Mingyang said, "If your patient is Cao Wenyan, I will not help him."

Yan Zhanjin said, "Mingyang, my patient is not Cao Wenyan."

Zhu Mingyang, "Zhanjin, I know that you are a doctor and your passion is to save lives, but when it come to the Cao, I will not help them."

Zhu Mingyang and Yan Zhanjin stood in front of the house arguing, Xue Horan carried Yongzheng on his back slowly approaching Yan Zhanjin's house.

Xue Horan asked, "Yan ge, are these two people bothering you?"

Zhu Mingyang turned his head and looked at the young man who resembled Mu Dishi. He asked, "Who is he? Why do he look so much like Mu Dishi?"

Yan Zhanjin said, "This is the patient I told you about." He walked to Xue Horan. "His name is Xue Horan. He is Yongzheng's lover."

As soon as Rao Zhengsheng was about to speak, Yuan Xiurong glanced at him, then shook her head. She understood the reason why Yan Zhanjin lie about the relationship between Yongzheng and Xue Horan. She whispered, "Don't."

Yan Zhanjin said, "Where did you two go?"

Xue Horan said, "We went to watch the sunrise together."

That morning after breakfast, Zhu Mingyang, Gu Yingjie, and Yan Zhanjin closed the door to the medicine room and they began to treat Yongzheng.

The other four people waited patiently outside the room, and none of them wanted to eat lunch.

Rao Zhengsheng asked, "Horan, where is Lanying?"

Xue Horan said, "I don't know, but maybe in the kitchen."

Suddenly, in the medicine room Yongzheng began to screams wildly. Yongzheng screamed for a good five minutes before he stop. Cao Yanmei stood up and was about to rush in, but was stopped by Rao Zhengsheng and Xue Horan.

When Cao Yanmei reached for the door, Dong Lanying rushed from the side and stopped her hand. She grabbed Cao Yanmei's hand tightly and said, "Do not disturb them, if you barge in, he might lose concentration and die."

Zhu Mingyang took his hand from Yongzheng's back and said, "Zhanjin put him over there and let him rest."

Yan Zhanjin looked at Zhu Mingyang's pale face. He asked, "Mingyang, are you okay?"

Zhu Mingyang said, "I'm fine, go get us something to eat."

Yan Zhanjin, "Wait, I will go get food and boil medicine for Yongzheng." He slowly closed the door behind him.

As soon as Yan Zhanjin left, Zhu Mingyang vomited blood.

Gu Yingjie, "Mingyang, what's wrong?"

Zhu Mingyang said, "Yingjie, quickly pull out the needle on my back."

Gu Yingjie took off Zhu Mingyang's robe and found a red thread needle. He used his internal strength to forcibly withdraw the needle from Zhu Mingyang's back. He showed the needle to Zhu Mingyang.

Gu Yingjie, "Cao Fengge..."

Zhu Mingyang said, "It's not Cao Fengge. If it is Cao Fengge, then right now, my internal energy would've backfire already, and I will be paralyzed from the neck down."

Gu Yingjie, "Whoever uses it, the internal strength is not strong?" He wiped the sweat from Zhu Mingyang's forehead. "Are you alright?"

Zhu Mingyang smiled at Gu Yingjie, "Kiss me and I will be."

Gu Yingjie smiled at Zhu Mingyang and helped him fixed his robe. He wiped the blood from Zhu Mingyang's lips and placed a gentle kiss on Zhu Mingyang's lips.

As soon as Yan Zhanjin walked out from the medicine room, he was asked hundreds of questions at the same time. He said, "Yongzheng is out of danger, but he need to rest." He looked at Yuan Xiurong. "Xiao meimei, you don't mind cooking dinner for us, do you?"

Yuan Xiurong smiled, "I don't mind."

Xue Horan said, "I will help you."

Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie walked out of the room, and Cao Yanmei quickly rushed into the room. Yan Zhanjin walked to Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie.

Zhu Mingyang said, "We are leaving now."

Zhan Zhanjin, "Are you two going home?"

Gu Yingjie said, "Not yet, since we are out. I will go visit my mother's grave, and then we will go home."

Zhan Zhanjin said, "You two won't stay for dinner?"

Zhu Mingyang said, "No." He looked at the people standing looking at them. "Zhanjin, send us out."

When Yan Zhanjin, Zhu Mingyang, and Gu Yingjie walked to the front gate. Zhu Mingyang said, "Just a little while ago, Yongzheng almost went mad because someone secretly attack me with a needle."

Zhan Zhanjin, "Who?"

Gu Yingjie, "We don't know." He handed the needle to Yan Zhanjin. "I guess that person didn't want Yongzheng to get better, or maybe one of our old enemies took the opportunity to kill us."

Yan Zhanjin, "In that case then you must stay."

Gu Mingyang said, "I'm fine. You should be careful, there are mice living among the rabbits."

Yan Zhanjin said, "I will be careful." He looked at Gu Yingjie. "Xiao Bai is here. You want to take him."

Gu Yingjie smiled and said, "No, you keep him." He took Zhu Mingyang's hand. "I'd rather walk slowly with Mingyang hand in hand, creating memories together, so when we are old, these memories can accompany us through our lonely time." The two men walked out of the front gate.

Yan Zhanjin shouted, "You two take care."

Zhu Mingyang shouted back, "You know where to find us, if you need our help."

Yan Zhanjin watched Zhu Mingyang and Gu Yingjie walk away from him. He murmured, "You two are truly made for each others."
