Haywire

"He's in here." Christian stood outside of an inn on a quiet street. Accompanying him was both Del and Allyssa.

Del was gazing around the street with interest. He hadn't actually left the academy since he arrived so he wasn't very used to seeing the kingdom. It didn't cease to amaze him how this world was though. He hadn't paid attention most of the times but there were numerous types of people. Here in Decia it mostly consisted of humans, elves, and beastfolk.

"Are we going in?" Christian asked Del who seemed to not be paying attention.

"Ah right, yes." Del said.

The three of them walked in. Christian and Allyssa went up to the innkeeper who quickly recognized Christian, allowing him to go upstairs. Del joined them as they went upstairs and stopped at a door.

Christian knocked three times with varying amounts of time between each. Sounds of locks being opened and shifted could be heard through the door before it eventually opened.

"Come, come." A man in a mask said as he led them inside.

The man brought out chairs for everyone before sitting in his own. He glanced over at Del and put out a hand. "You must be Del, my name is Nask." The man Nask had hair that looked to be between blonde and grey. His skin was pale, and his face was covered by a mask which was black and had a line running vertically through each line. He stood a few inches taller than Del at 5'11, though he was quite slender. What caught Del's attention was Nask's ears.

"You're an elf?" Del said as he brought up a hand to point at Nask's ears, at the same time seemingly ignoring the hand shake.

Nask brought his hand back and glanced at Christian before answering Del. "Yes, our family is prominently filled with elves, but Christian's mother was a human and those traits became prominent in him."

Del nodded, intrigued by this new piece of information. He turned his head to look at Allyssa and Christian. Allyssa didn't look surprised so she likely knew, and Christian looked guilty, likely having forgotten to have mentioned it.

Del turned his head back to Nask and crossed his arms while putting a leg over the other. "So the gang you're in trouble with, I need details on them."

"Yes of course, they call themselves the Scarlet Knuckles, they are not very big, but I don't quite have the power to handle all of them myself." Nask explained.

"You couldn't try to get them one by one?" Del asked curiously.

"No, they travel in a group, though I'm not sure how you would approach that. I also am not one that is able to fight as well as most." Nask said, before adding another part. "Though I wouldn't consider myself all so weak of course!" Nask tried to add confidently.

"Right... Also, why are they after you?" Del asked. He wanted to know in case he was actually dealing with some kind of killer.

"That Isn't necessary for this Del." Christian spoke up, seeing that Nask became a bit uncomfortable when Del asked.

"It is. I deserve to know why I'm doing this before I put myself in danger for it." Del rebutted.

Nask quickly spoke up now, apparently not wanting trouble with more people. "It is fine, I can tell you, it Isn't like someone as great as me should be fearful of telling you." Nask said with a bit of narcissism. "I am actually a necromancer, and they don't seem to appreciate the art so I happened to get a bit more aggressive than necessary." He added.

Del looked at Nask for a quick few moments. Del uncrossed his arms and put his palms together near his face. "This is wild." He said quietly to himself.

"Alright, well, let's make a plan." Del said while lowering his hands. The group of four then went on to make a plan that they could use. The three looked at Del with often concerned and bewildered faces whenever he decided on a portion of the plan. When they all finished, they all wondered how Del planned to deal with it. They only knew the first part of the plan, and Del kept the rest ro himself.

A hooded figure wearing a mask walked by a gang of men near an open area with a set of seven stairs in the middle leading to higher ground. The gang of men looked at him and some of them grunted and whispered some things before they all followed him. The hooded figure walked to the stairs and sat in the middle of them. The gang of men quickly surrounded him, some going to the top of the stairs and some standing at the bottom, while a group would stand on the ground surrounding the stairs. Essentially, the hooded figure was surrounded.

Del pulled his hood down and took off the mask before standing up.

Nask, Allyssa, and Christian all watched nearby through the window of a building. They were nearby to make sure nothing went haywire. They knew Del put them there just to give them a role as they didn't see how they could help.

"I led you all under the guise of the necromancer here to make a deal, you have two options." The three watching let out sighs of relief, glad that Del actually had a plan to negotiategotiat.

Del continued "I'm going to beat the shit out of all of you, or you can get on your knees and beg for forgiveness right now. You won't get a second chance, so decide now." The three all had their hearts sink as they heard Del continue. Nope, he had no plan to negotiate at all.

"Haha you dumb kid, you'll be lucky if we let you out of here alive." The man was laughing at the prospect of Del even trying to fight them. The rest of the gang joined in on the laughter.

"So be it." Del said as he started to take off upper shirt he had on. He tossed it to the side, leaving the undershirt which didn't cover his arms. Nask hadn't expected the young man to be so built.

Del stretched his arms out and cracked his knuckles, "Time to flex". One of the gang members that wasn't distracted by the laughing saw Del's scarred body and a worried look formed onto his face. "Hey guys." The man tried to shake a member next to him to get his attention.

Del's body started to become surrounded by a fluctuating orange aura. In some places it floated like wisps and in others it flickered like fire. It was overall unstable, but a mere second later it focused, and from in front of him following all the way to the back it became smooth and controlled, no longer fluctuating. Del felt his entire balance suddenly be held into place. It felt as if were to make wide movements that should offset his balance he would be able to stat on his feet. Not only that, he felt a general increase to his physical ability. "Sulenet battle aura, handy." Del thought.

Without wasting any extra moments He bent his knees slightly and leaned forward. With a powerful push he jumped forward and kicked a leg out. He gained enough height land a foot on the man who had responded to him. Del then quickly pushed off and landed behind the man who had now fallen.

"I'll kill you!" The man yelled.

"O-K" Del said while making an OK sign with his hand.

The members of the gang all started to give chase to Del, who then started to run away.

"Is... Will he be alright?" Nask asked no ome in particular, in awe of what just happened.

"No clue." Allyssa responded.
