Sponsor

"A sponsor?" Allyssa said in surprise. It had been about two days since "the incident". Del hadn't asked for his favor yet which rose Allyssa's anticipation. Now though, he had asked her for a sponsor.

"Yeah, the tournament is going to be in a few weeks after the assessment and It would help if I had a sponsor." Del said with a hand held on the back of his neck.

"I-I'm not too sure if I could do that. You see my family already has many looking for a sponsor and you being a commoner-" Allyssa tried to explain as she couldn't just make it happen.

Del interrupted her while crossing his arms "Eh it's fine, I'll just ask someone else. I'll just have to ask someone else. I suppose I can use that favor in some other way." Del's gaze lingered upon Allyssa.

Allyssa felt the perverted gaze pierce her like a spear and quickly responded as he face blushed red. "A-actually it may be possible. Y-you'd have to meet them though."

Del's stature seemed to relax a bit, making Allyssa less tense. "Then take me to them." He said plainly.

"Now?"

"Yes, they wouldn't deny a family member entry would they?" Del asked inquisitively, but obviously looking for a certain answer.

"...Let's go then." Allyssa said. They both made their way out.

On the way there Allyssa was questioning Del's sudden change in behavior. He was usually friendly but he had become more domineering. She wondered if it had anything to do with what happened before. She still remembered grabbing his wrist. He was shaking.

Upon reaching the family house they were greeted by guards who let them in upon identifying Allyssa. The family would be soon notified of their arrival so they both went to the meeting room.

Upon entering the room Allyssa was surprised to see people were already in the room.

"Oh Allyssa honey, can you come back later or wait outside the room? We are meeting with these two about sponsors right now so I'm sure whatever you need can wait." A woman with brown hair and green eyes said.

"Actually the boy next to me is also here about that, Lady Sanda." Allyssa said in response to the woman, apparently going by Lady Sandra.

Lasy Sandra diverted her gaze to Del, whom she didn't even seem to have acknowledged before. While he didn't seem to be huge very powerful he was nonetheless an impressive looking boy for his age. Her gaze lasted a moment longer than she wished, getting caught up in how clear his skin was.

"Bring him over to sit then." Lady Sandra said as she nodded towards the large couch which the other two men shared. It was big enough for Del for Del to sit and still have enough room.

Upon sitting he noticed Allyssa walk over to a man also in the room. He had brown hair which had some grey strands and pale green eyes. The wrinkles on his forehead showed his experience along with his stern face. He simply looked on at all of them.

"Ally... why would you bring someone like that here?" The man asked in a low, stern tone.

"What do you mean uncle?" Allyssa asked as she looked up at him.

"His aura is so erratic that it's almost shocking to see that he is so calm. I also wonder where you could have met a fourth, maybe fifth grade warrior." The old man said as he gave Del a cold and piercing gaze.

"Erratic? Wait fifth grade!?" Allyssa asked wile trying to contain her surprise. She herself was likely only a third grade warrior, and that was after all the support from her family along with years of training. To know that he who has only been practicing for a few months can reach fifth grade is almost unfair. She trusted her uncle though. He also had sensitive eyes like hers, though his were more developed and could see far more and more accurately.

While Allyssa and her uncle talked, Del listened to the two other candidates for the sponsor babble and flap their lips as they bragged about their skills and achievements. They were a couple of years older than Del, being on their third year each in their academy.

"You haven't spoken yet-"

"Del" Del said to spare her the embarrassment of forgetting to ask.

"-Del. Do you have any respective talents?" Lady Sandra asked Del while looking over at him.

"I can copy my opponents techniques mid conflict and use such knowledge to accurately read them." Del said calmly.

"Really? That is quite the talent. What would you estimate your warrior grade as?" Lady Sandra asked Del another question, finding the talent interesting.

The other two looked at Del with envy. They wondered what family Del must be from to cultivate such a skill. They couldn't think of any though, as there were no families that had an exotic appearance such as his.

Del responded to Lady Sandra "Fourth grade warrior. It isn't majorly impressive but I specialize in a wide range of skills and weapons. If I were to dedicate myself to one area I would likely grade myself even higher."

""Lady Sandra, you know of us but this Del character seems to have no background or notable achievements. Wouldn't it be better to test his skills?" One of the other two spoke. He was tired of Del and felt that he was faking his true performance. He probably just aimed at a spot of taking a place in the family and thought a sponsor would be a good way to do so. The candidate was no different himself though.

"Oh that actually sounds like a splendid idea! One of you can spar with him." Lady Sandra said excitingly.

Allyssa's uncle shifted uncomfortably where he stood.

"What's wrong?" She asked, noticing how he was moving.

"That boy made the wrong choice to challenge him." The uncle said, looking at all three of them. "That friend of yours, Del... he is unsettling."
