Chapter 28: Don’t Forget About Me

Guo Xiang smiled, she continued, "She also said that if you don't believe me, you can call this number. The number is 33xx-xxx. She works in the National Security Bureau and is in the intelligence field, so she would use this kind of code. She has gone missing so the unit and her family must be very worried. At the same time, help her make a phone call to let them know that she is safe."

The chief police officer wrote down the phone number and handed it to the junior police officer beside him, "Get off the train at the next stop and make a call to ask."

"Yes, Sir!" The police officer saluted.

Guo Xiang walked to Mu Qing's side and opened her eyelids to take a look. She checked her pulse again, but she couldn't find anything strange.

"Are you feeling unwell anywhere?" Guo Xiang asked.

Mu Qing blinked, indicating that her entire body was just feeling weak and she couldn't speak. She didn't feel anything else.

"What should we do with her?" Guo Xiang asked the captain.

"We don't know what kind of medicine she took, so we can only send her to the hospital for a check-up," the officer said. He hesitated for a moment before continuing, "but there's no train for the journey back now. There will only be small stops from now on, so we might not be able to take her to the hospital at those small stations. It's better to send her to the hospital when we reach Kun City."

Mu Qing blinked her eyes in agreement, and Guo Xiang nodded as well, "it just so happens that we're going to Kun City as well."

They were going to change buses there to go to Li City.

"I'll go and see if there's a free bunk and get her to rest a little," the chief police officer stood up.

Because the girl was weak and unable to move, it was better for her to lie down and rest.

Guo Xiang nodded, "if there's nothing else, we'll go back now!"

The officer turned around, "why don't you go with her? If there's anything, you can tell us. We can't understand what she's saying either. I'll help you to get a bunk."

"Thank you so much!" Guo Xiang was delighted. They would only reach Kun city tomorrow morning. If she had a bunk, she could have a good sleep tonight.

"Officer!" Yi Zichen took the opportunity to call out. "Can you also help us? We're together. We can pay extra for them."

The officer nodded. "If there is, I will inform you."

"Thank you very much!" Yi Zichen thanked him.

After a while, the officer returned. He said that there were passengers who got out off the train so there were free bunks. He arranged for Mu Qing and Guo Xiang to go over while Yi Zichen and Huang Zhengli made up for their tickets.

At the next station, the police officer went to make a call. After a while, he came back.

"How is it?" The chief asked.

"It's true."The police officer nodded. "That girl is really from the National Security Bureau. She went missing on a business trip here, which scared her family. After she heard that she was saved, she kept thanking us."

"I told them about the girl's situation. They said that they would let the girl get off in Kun City. Her family has relatives there. They made a call, and someone will come to pick her up as soon as we arrive."

"That's good," the chief police officer nodded. "Go and tell them."

The police arrived at the bunks and found Guo Xiang and Mu Qing. They were in the same cubicle. Mu Qing was in the lower bunk and Guo Xiang was in the middle bunk. Guo Xiang was sitting beside Mu Qing and talking to her.

Mu Qing could already speak, but her words were still vague. She was still unable to move her body.

The police officer told Mu Qing the contents of the phone call. She nodded with difficulty. "Thank... You!"

Guo Xiang smiled. This girl was indeed from a special department. In this era, those who knew Morse code were definitely not ordinary people. It was unlike in the later generations where the internet was developed. As long as one was willing, one could learn the code by searching online.

The police officer nodded and asked Guo Xiang, "She's from the national security, so are you? Otherwise, how would you know the code?"

Yi Zichen and Huang Zhengli also looked over curiously.

"I'm not, I just... accidentally saw it in the library and thought it was interesting, so I learned it. I didn't expect it to come in handy today," Guo Xiang said vaguely.

"Library? Where? Why haven't I seen such a book?" The police officer asked.

"Uh... Beijing," Guo Xiang braced herself and said. In fact, she didn't know whether the Beijing Library right now had the book, but he couldn't really verify it, right?

"That's great. The Capital Library is great. It has all kinds of books." The police officer sighed.

After chatting for a while, the police officer said, "I still have something to do. Please take care of her."

"It's okay. You can go and do your work," Guo Xiang nodded.

Mu Qing slowly raised her hand and she struggled. Guo Xiang quickly held her hand. "What's the matter?"

Mu Qing shook her head, her eyes slightly red. "Today... God, really... thank... you... If it wasn't for you... I would've..." the results would be unimaginable.

If she was really kidnapped and sold into some ravine, she could imagine what kind of life she would have. Just thinking about it made her shudder.

"It's all thanks to your cleverness in coming up with this idea. We were meant to meet each other. It just so happens that I know the code. Otherwise, other people wouldn't be able to understand you," Guo Xiang smiled.

Yi Zichen nodded in his heart. He did not understand it at all. He thought that there was something wrong with the girl's eyes.

He looked at Guo Xiang. The more he interacted with her, the more he realized that she was very mysterious. She was really a curious girl.

Guo Xiang and Mu Qing chatted intermittently. Guo Xiang learned that she was from the capital. This time, she was only here on a business trip. Unexpectedly, something happened.

"In the future... When you have... time, you must... come to Beijing... to see me, I... Invite you to come." As Mu Qing spoke, her sentence slowly became coherent.

Guo Xiang smiled and said yes.

"Write down... my home... phone number. When the time comes... I'll come to pick you up!" Mu Qing said again.

"Go ahead, I'll remember," Guo Xiang nodded.

Mu Qing was a little surprised that she didn't need a notebook to remember. However, thinking that she could learn Morse code by herself, she must be extraordinary. So, she told Guo Xiang her home number.

Guo Xiang nodded, "I'll remember."

Mu Qing was very happy. She had met such a powerful person. If they had the chance to be together in the future, the two of them would definitely become good friends.

At night, everyone had a good sleep in their bunks. The next morning, the train arrived in Kun City.

As soon as they got off the train, someone came to pick Mu Qing up.

Mu Qing could already sit up, but she could not walk yet.

Guo Xiang and the rest did not go with Mu Qing because they had to transfer to Li City.

Mu Qing held Guo Xiang's hand, "you must call me. Don't forget about me."

"I won't," Guo Xiang smiled.

"If you're done with your business, you can come and look for me. I'll give you my uncle's home number," Mu Qing said and gave a string of numbers.

"I'll remember it," Guo Xiang nodded.

Mu Qing held Guo Xiang's hand for a little longer and was then carried to the hospital by her relatives.

The three of them left the station and planned to eat breakfast before going to the bus station to change to buses.

During breakfast, Huang Zhengli looked at Guo Xiang, "I'm really curious. Who are you? Why do you know everything?"

Yi Zichen also looked at Guo Xiang. She was really a magical person.

Guo Xiang smiled, "it's just a coincidence!"

It was because she had transmigrated from the later generations. The later generations were well-informed and her memory was amazing. She had stored many things in her mind, so she naturally knew more than others.
