Ava woke up the next morning, she could still feel her cheek sting a bit. She looked besides her, Tom wasn't there. 'He must've left early' she thought to herself. It was good, she couldn't bare to see him after last night. She remembered she was supposed to see Lana today, after all her bestie needed her. Ava slowly got out of bed and headed for the bathroom. She took a quick shower and got dressed. It was a pretty cold morning so she wore her expensive fur coat she bought on a trip to Paris. As she sat at her dressing table to do her makeup she noticed how red her cheek was from the slap she got last night. She felt like crying but stopped her tears from falling down. She couldn't let Lana see the mark or else she'd be adding to her troubles. She found some blush and foundation and applied it to cover the mark. She was done and ready to go visit Lana.
Ava arrived at Lana's. She rang the doorbell and Lana's maid answered. "Hello Mrs Grey." Ava hated it when people called her that. It was like she couldn't escape Tom no matter where she went. "Hi," she smiled politely "Is Lana home?" she asked. "Yes, please come in," the maid hustled Ava in. "She's in her room," the maid said as she pointed upstairs. "Uhm, thank you." Ava climbed up the stairs to Lana's room. She opened the door to find her friend lying in bed looking awful. "Oh my gosh, you look awful," she said. "Thanks for stating the obvious," Lana replied weakly. "And thanks for coming to see me." Ava smiled widely. "Anything for you. Oh and I got you something." Ava reached her hand into the basket she was carrying. "Is it wine," Lana asked. Ava knew how much she loved her wine. "I know you love your wine and all, but know I did not bring wine, but I brought soup for you now open up wide."
Ava started feeding Lana. "Wait, what the heck!" Lana sounded serious. "What is it? Is the soup bad?" Ava asked concerned. "It's not the soup, but your face," Lana turned Ava's face by there chin. She saw the red spot on Ava's face. Ava started to panic."What is this Ava? What happened to you? Ava tell me!" Lana was asking too many questions for Ava to answer. "Well I slipped in my room and fell on my face." Ava sounded so bad she wouldn't even believe herself if she was Lana. "Ava you can't lie to me. I know you by now," Lana now sounded worried. Ava refused to make eye contact because she knew that Lana would see right through her. "Ava did...did Tom do this to you?" She immediately lift her head and turned to Lana. "How can you ask me that, I already answered you," This was getting awkward and Ava tried to divert the conversation but it came back to her like a boomerang.
Lana grabbed Ava and embraced her in a hug. "Just tell me please." Ava burst into tears and cried telling Lana everything. Lana looked like she also wants to cry. "Ava I told you to divorce him, this has gone too far!" Lana said worriedly. Ava took Lana by the hands. "You don't know how hard it is. I can't leave, even if I wanted to," Ava cried. The two friends sat together on the bed hugging each other like it was their last time together.
