Face Your Fears

"We recognize a soulmate by the supreme level of comfort and security we feel with that person. That doesn't mean that there aren't issues that remain to be ironed out. Rather, it means we know intuitively that we can resolve issues with our soul mate without losing his or her love and respect."

"To the carnival~

We go oohahah to the carnival~"

Liya commenced singing this right after she got into the car. Yeah, we are going to a carnival in the city circle. It's Christmas eve and my dad will go back to London the day after tomorrow, so we decided to enjoy the time with him more and this carnival comes every year-end, well we never miss it. So, here I am sitting in the back of the car with an excited Jimin on my tail. When I heard the news I couldn't tell him because I didn't know the Korean word for carnival. Right when I converted it using Google translator he jumped up high with a wide grin on his face. He won't shut up about his adventures with his members when they used to go to carnivals and all for shooting Run BTS episodes. I was forced to listen as always but this time it was not so annoying.

"Shut up, Liya" I rolled my eyes annoyed, "Dad, can you turn on the radio and block out this repetitive ballad?"

Dad and mom chuckled while Liya shot a glare to which Diya laughed.

The rest of the journey was smooth as everyone was listening to the radio. I sighed in relief and slumped in my seat. I tilted my head to look at Jimin who was looking outside admiring every single sight. His head followed to the top of the flats when he sees one and if it's a river he'll lean into the window to look down. Fascinated by him I kept staring. I was so engrossed in staring at him that I didn't realize that he turned around. I only broke out of the daze when he snapped his finger in front of my face.

"Mia? I've been calling you," he looked amused, "Were you staring at me?" he smirked.

"Why would I stare at you?" I asked out loud causing all heads to turn towards me.

I drained my expression and showed them my phone to which they shook their heads. I internally sighed and turned towards Jimin who was chuckling and covering his mouth.

"You fell for my handsomeness, didn't you?" he asked with that same annoying smirk.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes not wanting another outburst. He kept picking on me which I ignored by putting in earbuds. Earbuds to the rescue!

"Girls can go ride," dad announced giving me the money, "We are gonna take a tour inside the stalls. Meet us at the food stall by 8 pm".

With that mom and dad went away leaving me with my sisters and our excitedly jumping Jimin. I sighed a little, excitement flooding inside me too, and turned towards my sisters.

"So, where to first?" I asked crossing my arms.

"There!" both of them pointed in different directions while Jimin was following what they were pointing at.

"How about we take turns choosing?" I suggested, "Starting from the oldest, which will be me!" I grinned evilly. Pros of being the eldest!

"Fine!" they puffed out their cheeks.

"To the roller coaster then!" I announced and dragged both of them by their arms who were clearly whining and a chuckling Jimin following behind.

"Sorry ma'am, only the front seat is vacant," the coaster man said.

People might have been scared to sit at the front so I skipped towards it followed by a horror-struck Jimin. My sisters were sitting in the middle and I didn't want to stay in the line again so I chose fast, besides I love sitting in the front. I pulled Jimin making him sit beside me.

"M-Mia, I-I don't t-think it's a g-good idea" he stuttered clutching the metal so tight that his knuckles were turning white.

"It's your chance, Jimin," I muttered under my breath, "You should utilize the advantages of being a ghost, buddy" I gave him a reassuring smile.

"B-But, I'm scared" he breathed heavily looking around.

That I knew. I've seen him being afraid of heights and dangerous rides. That's exactly why I wanted him to mount this one. I wanted to prove to him that it's okay. I wanted to get rid of that fear of his.

I placed my hand over his pale one. His head shot up to me.

"It's gonna be alright" I whispered smiling.

He stopped fidgeting and his hand relaxed under mine. He clutched my hand in his and interlocked our fingers placing it on his lap. He nodded when the ride started proceeding.

"Enjoy!" I mouthed.

And we actually did.

We mounted many rides along with my sisters. Some of them Jimin had to sit out because of seat problems. He would cheer at us standing outside. In the end, we decided to go to the giant wheel and Jimin came along with us and sat beside me. When we reached the top he caught my hand but I shrugged it off, the guy is afraid of heights, still. The view was great, I underline and highlight, characterized by the sea breeze hitting our faces. It was magical!

We were walking towards the food stall where our parents had told us to meet. Just then seeing a group of people clapping and chanting, Liya dragged us towards it. We waded through the people and reached the front.

A group of young boys and girls were dancing to upbeat songs. They were pretty good too that I was tapping my feet to the beats and their breathtaking moves.

They stopped their music and dance.

"Anyone from the crowd wants to do freestyle with us?" asked a boy through the microphone.

Everyone looked at each other but no one came forward.

"C'mon! Anyone?" a girl called this time.

"Sis, you are an amazing dancer. Why aren't you going?" nudged Diya.

"Nope" I shook my head.

"Sis!" whined Liya nudging me.

I kept shaking my head when suddenly Liya pushed me out of the crowd.

The boy caught my eye as he smiled widely and came towards me.

"Go sis!" shouted my sisters.

"What's your name, miss?" he asked politely.

It doesn't hurt a little to dance right? I mean, it's been a while.

"Mia"

"Everybody! Let's give a round of applause for Mia, here!" he shouted into the mic.

He dragged me into the center as the crowd cheered loudly.

"Do you want any particular song?" the girl from earlier asked.

"Nope, any is okay" I shrugged.

They nodded and all of them stood in position with me at the center.

The song played and it was an upbeat one. It took five seconds for me to familiarize myself with the song and then I hit the beat, dancing. I had learned hip hop dance for 5 years and I used all of them there. They danced along with me in intensity and from the corner of my eyes I saw people from the crowds taking out their phones and shooting the dance. After a couple of songs, we stopped in a perfect posture.

The crowd went crazy as I panted hard. The guys hi fi-ed with me complimenting my dance. The girls hugged me even.

I then went towards my jumping sisters and an awestruck Jimin.

"Sis!!! You were awesome!!!" Diya and Liya squealed.

I mumbled thanks and glanced at Jimin.

He was staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at him. He shook his head and gave me a thumbs up and smiled widely.

"Let's go," I announced, "Mom and dad will be waiting"

"You were really amazing, Mia," Jimin said wide-eyed, "I never knew you were that good".

I was braiding my hair after a long day. Jimin was sitting at my window sill caressing the cat which he named Sunhee. He said it means bright and good, whatever that is. The cat, somehow I managed to carry it here. Dad said it's okay and my sisters were head over heels for it but I shooed them off. She slept all the way to our home in the car, lazy cat. Jimin prepared a cushion and a basket for her to sleep. He even feeds her milk and small parts of fish. He definitely knows how to take care of it, he wasn't lying when he said that.

"Well duh, thanks" I shrugged.

"I knew you dance but that was just...damn" he pumped his fist in the air.

"Do you want anything?" I turned to him, "You've been complimenting about the dance for the past hour. You can ask, you know?"

"No, I was telling the truth" he shook his head keeping the already slept cat into the basket carefully.

"Okay," I muttered.

I sat on my bed absentmindedly. Jimin came and sat beside me shifting my attention to him.

"Thank you" he mumbled playing with his fingers, "For um-

"It's alright," I cut him off, "You were kinda cute when you were scared" I chuckled lightly.

He blushed.

"Aww, look at Park Jimin blushing" I pinched his smooth cheeks, "My eyes are blessed!" I squealed in the voice of a fangirl.

He blushed even more, "S-Stop"

"Why? You look adorable when you blush" I pouted dramatically squishing his cheeks, "No wonder why they say you are a mochi. A squishy mochi!"

"Aish, Mia!" he whined stopping me by grabbing my hands.

He looked like a tomato now.

I laughed out at his state as he started rubbing his cheeks awkwardly.

"Sis? Why are you laughing?" shouted Liya from outside my door, "Should I call an ambulance?"

I stopped laughing and coughed, "What? I don't even have the freedom to laugh in my own room? Go away, Liya" I shouted.

"Are you actually mad, sis?" she shouted again.

"Mind your business, you midget" I shouted back.

"How dare you call me midget?" she yelled banging on the door.

I laughed causing Jimin to chuckle even though he doesn't know what we exchanged.

The days with Park Jimin were hilarious.
