Truth Unveiled

"He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not know where he ended and she began." -- Leo Tolstoy

"This is all I got," he said showing me some pics.

"That's exactly what I want," I said examing the photos of his car crash.

Yes, we are researching his car crash. I've been examining many articles about the matter on the internet while Jimin gathered the pics all over the internet for me. I was luckily able to get my hands on CCTV footage of the car crash; it was viral on YouTube. People had their own theories and I was reading every single one of them and so were the statements of the witnesses. These were confidential stuff but ARMYs managed to expose some of these, thanks to them. Along with this, I read articles about his past death threats and many other related death threats of idols. Inferring from that, I was totally terrified by the fact that there were many crash crashes which included the injury or sometimes the death of idols and celebrities. It wasn't looking like a mere accident anymore. Some of them were overly suspicious but the case was closed as there were not any objections or evidence. I didn't know the k pop industry was this dangerous.

The most horror striking news was that there is some woman out there who hates on other fandoms other than hers and plans to kill other popular idols by spreading death threats. There were cases when the idols commit suicide due to immense depression and stress caused by this. And about the accidents, right after a death threat was afflicted an accident was bound to happen. There were some countable cases like these and the victim was saved only inches from death.

From all this research, anyone can say that the car crash that shook the whole k pop industry and the hearts of many ARMYs was pre-planned. Just by putting it this way; Jimin got a death threat right after they got invited to Billboard Music Awards before they got the Global Social Artist Award and on the third day after they got back to Seoul, Jimin got into an accident. Of course, it's not some coincidence. It's a planned murder.

"Jimin, can you answer some questions?" I asked finally looking up from the screen.

"Sure," he sat down on the bed cross-legged.

"Did you see someone suspicious when you went out to get your car?" I clasped my fingers.

"No, not that I can remember of," he said pondering hard.

"Why were you in your car alone? Why didn't you call your driver?" I asked.

"My driver took a leave that day, his daughter was admitted in hospital or something," came the reply.

"What time did you leave the hotel?"

The questions went on and on as I cleared all my suspicions. Finally, piecing everything together I was sure that my doubts were in fact correct.

I rewatched the CCTV footage.

I narrowed my eyes when I saw a faint dark hooded slim figure on the footpath almost as if waiting for someone or rather something to happen. When the crash occurred, when all the people rushed towards the spot the figure stood there idle without any movement. Then after a couple of minutes, the figure got inside a white car nearby and drove away; the number plate of the car was not much visible but the cyber experts can zoom it out easily.

Gotcha! I grinned widely.

"Mia, you look somewhat evil now," mumbled Jimin coming towards me.

"Park Jimin, I think I got your killer," I smiled.

"My killer?" his eyes widened.

I told him everything starting from his death threat to his planned accident.

He gaped at me.

"Woah! You seriously are something" he exclaimed.

"I know, right?" I flipped my hair with a smirk, "All those crime movies and books paid off"

"Mia, you are awesome!" he lunged forward for a hug.

"Wait wait, I've got one more thing to find out," I stopped him and my expression dropped.

"What is it?" he asked sitting down and pulling Sunhee into his lap from the floor.

"I have to cement these suspicions of mine," I sighed running a hand through my hair, "For that, I have to find the exact killer and why I point out it's her"

"So, it's a her?" his eyes widened.

"So far, yeah," I said thinking about how I can.

"What are you opting to do for that?"

"Only if I could see her social media accounts or something. I wish I could hack-" I stopped midway as an idea popped into my head.

"Mia?"

"Maybe I can" I mumbled.

I jumped up from my chair and grabbed my phone on the bed startling Jimin causing Sunhee to screech and jump out of his grasp to leap away.

I searched for the person and clicked the call button.

Glad that I have his number.

"Hello?" came a male voice.

"Hello, Adithya?" I asked pacing.

"Oh Mia, wassup?" he asked.

"Are you free?"

"Yeah, sort of, yeah"

"Well, can you do me a favor?" I asked straight away.

"It depends on the favor" I felt him shrug.

"Can you meet me at Caramel Cafe in 30 minutes?"

"Okay?"

"With your tools"

"I see" I guess he got what I was talking about, "I'll be there"

"Thanks, see you then"

"See you"

I hung up and rushed to my closet and changed my clothes abruptly. I pulled my hair up without even combing it, into a ponytail. I looked into the mirror. Humane enough.

"Mia, where are you going?" Jimin asked eyeing my form.

"To a cafe," I simply said and sneaked into my sneakers.

"Why?"

"You'll see" I pushed my laptop into my backpack and zipped it up, "C'mon"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So, you want me to hack into this account?" Adithya asked pointing at the username profile on his laptop screen.

"Yeah?" I shrugged, "Can you do it?"

"Of course," he gave me a thumbs-up, "Easy peasy"

Adithya is an aspiring ethical hacker. Hacking is his hobby and he knows everything about it from every branch. He and I were IT project partners and we even got First place in a competition. Since then we kept in contact also knowing that we were kinda neighbors and shared almost the same interests. We were partners in crime for hacking, he had taught me some basic hacking skills and some other nonbasic hacking stuff too since we were both computer science majors and were lowkey stealthy. No illegal stuff, just trying whether we can hack into accounts or something. We basically just try nothing more and no, no hacking bank websites. It's basically for fun and additional information.

"But," I knew already what's coming, "What'll I get?" he raised an eyebrow folding his hands over his chest.

"Isn't it obvious why I brought you into a cafe?" I asked sighing and glancing over at the silent ghost sitting on the other chair suspiciously looking between us.

"Fine, " he said rubbing his hands together, "Get ready to empty your wallet after this" he winked.

"Food monster" I mumbled under my breath.

"Okay," he cracked his knuckles, "Let's go do some hacking"

After what felt like hours of him typing and me watching him he successfully hacked into her Twitter account. He muttered an enthusiastic 'yes' under his breath and we looked into her private messages.

Jimin leaned in to see what we were doing and his eyes widened.

"Are you guys hacking?" I heard him ask in surprise.

"This lady is evil," Adithya muttered as he scrolled down her conversations, "There are other languages; Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, I presume. The English ones are just pure evil" he paused reading one, "This one talks about a death threat or something"

My eyes widened a little as I leaned in to read the conversation.

It said that she planned to shoot Jimin at an event in America and some hateful comments about him. My evidence! I grinned widely.

"Send me the screenshots of all of that", I said which he did.

I didn't get anything about accidents so far but it might be in any other languages. I need to translate all of that and research again. It's tiresome but as long as my bestie Google translator is there, I don't care.

"Why do you need this?" Adithya finally asked.

I'd expected him to ask sooner or later.

"This lady here is a threat to many celebrities in Korea," I explained saving the shots in a folder, "You might've heard about the car crash of an idol a month before. Seeing the car crash pics and all, it just doesn't seem right"

"Let me guess," he held up his hand, "Your detective instincts kicked in?"

"Yeah," I shrugged.

"These are illegal, you know" he warned, "Don't get yourself in trouble"

"I won't" I waved him off, "I have a plan"

"You always have," he sighed smiling.

"Now, tell me," I tossed him the menu, "What's your menu?"

He chuckled and started ordering.

"Oh and you have to teach me one more thing," I said biting on the sandwich, the spices immediately exploding in my mouth.

"What?"

"How to create a fake email id" I grinned as he raised an eyebrow.

Jimin just shook his head disapprovingly.
