Chapter 34.

•Overhaul's POV•

The building was large, and the surroundings were eerie. There was barely any lighting, as this was clearly a rundown part of the city, and any surrounding lights were either flickering, dim or broken. Windows of the building had attempted to be boarded up, however I suspect that drug-dealers and hooligans had forced their ways through, due to planks being on the floor nearby to the broken windows. The door, however was sealed shut.

This place was certainly somewhere I could vaguely remember being. The question is: where is this place that I do recall?

"You remember it, don't you?" Toga said while coming up besides me, slapping her hand down on my shoulder. Her grin as wide as ever.

"Somewhat." Was my only response before I walked forwards and looked over the door. It was thick steel. "We will need to find a new route in-" I started saying, before noticing that Toga was already beginning to rip a board off of one window. "What are you doing?!"

"What do you think I'm doing? I'm getting us a way in." She was quick to move onto the next nailed plank. Much stronger than I had assumed.

"What if they have somebody in there? We could be caught out, or worse-"

The door flung open.

"Shit!" We both shouted in unison, though I was quick to regain my bearings and launch myself through the broken window that was now free of planks. Toga jumped in after me.

"Shhh..!" She whispered-shouted, placing a finger over her mouth to emphasise. Begrudgingly, I remained silent.

After that, we started to crawl along the concrete flooring, despite how uncomfortable it was. However, it wasn't long before some heavy footsteps echoed around the room.

Had he found us?

"Keep going." Toga whispered, and we picked up the pace. That was when the footsteps became heavier and louder, until-

"HELP-! FUCK, HELP ME!" Toga abruptly shouted as she was grabbed by the hair. That was my opportunity. The little bitch thought she could get away with crossing me.

I swiftly took this opportunity and ran past the large man, behind the counter and bolted up the stairs round the back. Being greeted by another metal door, tendrils grew from my back and slammed through it, ripping the door from its hinges and throwing it aside within the small room.

My mouth hung agape at what I came across.

Hawks. Motherfucking. Hawks.

And he had hurt my woman.
