Chapter 8

My sister comes through the village entrance, a massive gate like wall that surrounds the village. It was constructed recently for the protection of the village against on coming attacks. People were wary that we would be attacked again so they built it as an added precaution.

The population of our village had grown also as we found out the dragons had attacked other villages before ours and there were multiple survivors, so they became part of our community and helped recreate a new village for everyone.

As my sister enters you can't help but notice a massive carriage that was being pulled by horses behind her. How did she get such a carriage? They're supposed to be really expensive and hard to get. So how was my sister able to attain one? Well, she was a really strong adventurer so that might've been it, but even so this was unexpected.

My sister pulls up outside of the house and the carriage door is flung open and she jumps out in excitement.

"Have you been training as I told you?" She asks with a big grin on her face as she walks over to the horses and strokes them between their eyes.

"Yes, I have, why wouldn't I?" I respond giving my own grin back at her while giving a surprised look at all the stuff my sister had brought.

My sister laughs and goes to the other side of the carriage and tells me to follow her. I follow just a few steps behind, and she directs me to open the other door for the carriage. I'm a little bit sceptical so I open it slowly as to not be jump scared and made a joke of. She always likes to embarrass me like that sometimes and I'm really not appreciative of that. Its funny most of the time though so I just put up with it.

The door is fully open, but I don't notice anything. I look at my sister in confusion and she just stands there with a smile.

"Come on out, Garv." Mae says to someone who is supposedly in the carriage.

I put my head into the carriage trying to see if someone really was in there. There wasn't. No one was in there. I turn around to face my sister thinking it was some practical joke to make me look stupid, which it already had anyway. Once I made my full rotation, I see somebody standing next to Mae.

"Harry meet Garv, Garv meet my brother Harry." My sister introduces us to each other herself.

"Wait, how did he get out of there like that?" I ask with my brain in total confusion, pondering on how he did that.

"Oh, I fell out of the carriage not to long back and your sister didn't let me back on, so I just had to follow the carriage." Garv tells me with a small chuckle at the end of it.

My sister had once again tricked me, I had a long hard glare at her for making me look stupid in front of someone I was meeting for the first time. She wasn't fazed by it though, it probably made it more amusing for her as she knew what she tried on me was 100% successful.

Mae explains how Garv is here to help with training me. She told me that he was going to train me in the things that she couldn't train me in. I was glad about this as I thought I would have to wait until I was in school to learn lots of stuff.

I asked what elements Garv was able to manipulate. He was able to manipulate earth and water. He was a double manipulator like my sister who could manipulate air and fire. It made sense that my sister could manipulate air as both of my parents were able to use it too.

Garv was a brute looking person who was quite small but was big at the same time. Just by looking at him you could tell his class was berserker or warrior or something along the lines of needing brute strength. He knew my sister as well so I knew he would have been a strong one at that, but why was he here? Wouldn't he be out going on adventures or taking out monsters in their domains. Was he retired like my sister or was he just here as a favour? I would have to ask him if I wanted the answer. The answer didn't really affect me anyway and I wasn't too intrigued so I probably would have forgotten to ask him anyway.

My sister apologises to me saying that I would have to wait until tomorrow for the training to start as her and Garv were a bit tired after their journey. I couldn't care less because I needed a break myself after all my training. I don't know why I was so brutal to myself during the week, I should have just done something that was easy enough for me but made me exert myself a little. I might have been a bit too hyper about getting to finally learn magic.

Just the thought of being able to use magic made me extremely excited. In my last life magic was just something of fairy tales and didn't really exist. People would have never been able to use magic on earth, and that probably was for a good reason with all the underground fights. If someone came to a fight and was manipulating energy in a fight, the fights would be a whole lot more violent.

I take the day off as a break, still training my core however. I had got really good at storing the energy in there during the week. I noticed that I was starting to be able to hold more each day and it was getting easier at the same time too. Doing that at the same time as training really was a good idea instead of doing half a day of physical training and the other half training my core and the flow of energy.

I knew Garv was still trying to process how someone my age was already able to do this. I noticed that my sister hadn't told him my age before when we first met, there was surprise behind his eyes when you looked into them. I guess she thought she shouldn't of because he probably wouldn't have agreed to come if he knew my age.

My sister told me to show him as he was still in disbelief even after meeting me. I had become accustomed to being able to do it whenever I want now so I easily let the energy flow into my core and back out.

Even my sister was in shock now.

"How are you able to control it like that already, you only awakened literally a week ago?" My sister asks me as she is stunned by what my 5-year-old self had done.

"Training like you told me." I answered with a cheeky grin on my face as I knew I surpassed her expectations.

Garv was staying in my room while he was here so I had the option to sleep in the room with my sister or on the couch. Without hesitation I took the option of sleeping on the couch. There was no way I was sleeping in the same room as my sister, she was always snoring really loudly. I could hear it even from my room, it was annoying when I was trying to go to sleep.

Garv didn't want to take my room at first as he believed it was a bit rude, but I told him I didn't mind as on the couch I couldn't hear my sister snoring. Unluckily my sister heard me and gave me a punch to the back of my head. I didn't see it coming and I turned around and just saw her eyes glaring at me with anger. I just laughed and Garv joined me.

It became night and the sun had went down. I was ready for the training that was about to commence. I knew it was going to be difficult.
