I woke up from my sleep with one goal in my mind; to start my magic training straight away. I went about my morning as I usually would, wake up, get breakfast and then get washed and dressed. Things like showers haven't been a thing in this world so you had to go to this lake to get washed. I didn't mind though because the water was cleaner than what I used to have drank from the tap back on earth.
This was only being kept clean because of one of the manipulators that was in our village knew how to do it. There were many different ways you could use the energy around you and it was surprising that you could even use it to filter lake water. I would of never been able to think of that as a use, I would have to learn to be open-minded with this as it could lead to endless opportunities, and ways I could take advantage of the energy.
I finish getting ready as I pull my top over my face, pulling my hair down over my eyes. I needed a haircut; my hair was getting a little bit too long. I went to my sister and asked if she could cut my hair for me and she happily agreed to do so.
I thought I was just going to have a normal haircut but no! Mae whips out both her daggers and charges her bind to enhance her speed. She dashes at me. I close my hair and brace for impact flinching ever so slightly. A couple seconds later and I didn't feel anything happen, so I close my eyes, Mae just standing there with a big grin on her face. She picks up a mirror and pulls it up so I could see my hair, it was amazing. She had given me a perfect haircut in literal seconds, there was no hair out of place, no hair that was longer than the other where it should be.
Yet another way to take advantage of magic in this world.
After I settle down from what I just happened, I go up to my sister, who is sat on the couch, and tell her there is something I need to talk to her about. I tell her how my ability to sense and store energy has already been awoken. She looks at me in disbelief, there was no way she could believe that a 5-year-old could have already awoken their powers, not this early.
She picks me up and places me just next to her and tells me to try and feel the energy and store it into my core. I remember exactly what the books instructions were and continued to follow them. I close my eyes; all my muscles relaxed and breathe slowly. I can feel it again. Good it wasn't just a one of occasion, I could use it whenever I wanted. I focus on the energy and picture it flowing into my core and storing it in there this time instead of letting it flow out.
I was successful. I knew because of the face my sister made when I had completed the task, she had given to me. A task supposedly impossible until a child had turned at least the age of 9. 9 being the earliest age on record of someone awakening.
My sister eyes were wide with shock, she was the first person to witness someone of my age use magic and probably the last at that matter. I knew that me being able to awaken so soon probably had something to do with me being a reincarnation. No matter, I had these powers now and I was going to use them to the point no energy is left in the world. Well maybe not until there was none left, that would be impossible as there is always an infinite flow of energy in the world.
I told my sister about how I wanted to start my training as soon as possible and that I wanted to be trained in every classification of fighting I could but in the end be an assassin that mainly focuses on speed and agility. I told her how I was going to become the number 1 adventurer in the whole continent. I didn't mention anything about getting revenge because there was no way she would let me do that after what the dragons had done to mother and father.
She reluctantly agreed to train me but said that she wouldn't be able to help training me as a berserk specialist as she didn't have the physical strength for that. That didn't matter to me as I knew there were a few things that she couldn't train me in already anyway.
Mae told me to give her a week to get preparations ready for the training and in the meanwhile to practice sensing the energy and having it flowing through my body throughout the days as much as possible and practice storing as much of it as I can in my core. This would give me a head start with the training as I would be able to use more magic and not get tired easily from it.
She also told me that I should start getting physically fit as that would increase my stamina also. I agreed happily with that because as of late I've been feeling that I get tired really quickly. I learnt the hard way that being physically fit meant a lot in a fight, especially when you were up against an opponent who was physically stronger than you.
She said I would have to run around the village as much as I could, being a 5-year-old really limited the physical training I could do because my body still hadn't developed therefore, I couldn't do anything too strenuous for my body.
I wondered what my sister needed a week to prepare for. We could have just started basic magic training anyway couldn't we or was there something that I hadn't picked up from reading all my books. Maybe because they were more kid-friendly books they didn't show have all the information needed, or my sister might be going to more extreme lengths to teach me. I really don't know anymore.
My neighbour had to take care of me as my sister was away for a week getting the preparations. He agreed to take care of me in my own home which was nice as I probably would have felt awkward to be going about doing my own stuff in somebody else's home. This made it easier for me to get up in the morning get about my business then head of to train as soon as I could in the morning.
I needed as much training as I possibly could. Something told me what Mae was doing to train was going to be hard and difficult, so I better get in enough shape by then I can at least handle it to an extent.
During the week I hadn't really noticed my sister being gone until I eventually got home later on in the day from my training. I'd usually run home as fast as I could as some last-minute training which in the end proved to be quite helpful. Each day I noticed the sprint getting easier and easier for me signifying that I was getting fitter.
The week went by and I felt ready, now all that was left was for Mae to return today.
