A Foggy Brain

Serenica's contemplations were interrupted by an apologetic bookkeeper showing up to her workspace with a box full of those pink sugary treats.

"I've been such a horrible woman lately," Myorka said. "Here. These always make me forgive people."

"It's hard not to forgive you," Serenica said. "Your situation is certainly an odd one. Sit down."

"How it pains me to be unable to do things the way I used to," the bookkeeper complained while sitting down. She looked tired. She certainly had a little bump going on now, and her entire body shape had changed, even if it was a subtle change.

"Don't get me wrong, I am crazy about the baby. I already have a relationship with him, and yes, I think everyone's right, it will be a boy. But damn, actually being pregnant is exhausting. Even if I enjoy it."

"I can only imagine," Serenica said, fully empathizing with her friend. "Is there anything I can do for you?"
