A Pleasant Fog

Ed had been right. There was some gold veins running in the sides of the rocks, and while they were not the thickest ones, they were still real gold and Serenica couldn't help her pirate instincts looking at them.

"Where could the inhabitant of this island hide?" she asked. "And why has he not come to meet us?"

"If it is a he," Spade said and shook his head. "No, that matters not. We need to search the entire place. Turn everything upside down. I can't bear the thought of someone innocent marooned here for years."

"You think lot of innocent people get marooned?" Serenica asked.

"I don't think, I know."

They did their very best to search every possible spot on the island. Finally, as they thought they had already spent too much time looking for imaginary ghosts, a man in a blue navy coat approached them.

He was freakishly thin and he seemed to recognize the first mate.

"Mother of worms!" the man shouted. "William!"
