Saints and Sages
A Chinese inspired fantasy set in a different world, filled with unique species and complex cultures. We focus on two stories running parallel to one another.
Half of our story follows a young boy named Mareus. As he crawls his way from an isolated village on the far end of the civilized world he will face years of challenges and the cruelty of civilization. All while striving to stand above the heavens in order to gain justice for those he loved.
The other half of our story follows Sienna and her party made up of equal parts orphans and successors to powerful sects. Through their travels they grow closer and learn more about the struggles of one another. While at the same time, trying to prove themselves by maintaining peace for the people.
Truth can mean many things to many people. Some will argue for one universal truth or the one true Dao. Others will find many paths, many truths, that will change and grow as they understand the universe and their place in it.
Where comprehension of these truths will lead to power.
A nice start. I like that there are two protagonists - not many novels have multiple leads. I'm curious how the stories will connect. Writing quality is good. While there are some small mistakes here and there, most of them don't affect the reading experience. Only in 2 or 3 places a change of scenes was a bit unclear. The author takes time to introduce the characters and the setting, without any unnecessary info dumps.
