Isla and Ava 2

I open the door and I’m surprised to find the first person I want to see but still shocked because I didn’t expect him. “Hi Dave. What are you doing here?”

“Way to go best friend you can’t even welcome me properly, where are your manners gurlll?”. He says playfully and we both laugh then I remember we were supposed to continue with his mom’s birthday plans.

“And what’s gotten into you that made you come this late? you know me if I wasn’t expecting their mom to pick them up I wouldn’t have opened the door for you”. I say with a playful tone but with a serious face pointing to the twins. But Dave goes along and pushes me to walk towards the twins that I forgot to introduce and he gives them a big hug and the awkward look on their faces make me laugh behind him. I told you ‘who doesn’t love twins?’

He introduces himself and brings out a pack of cookies that I never noticed he brought along and gives his share to the twins and they both thank him. It makes me smile and I begin to fantasize again about the possibility of me giving birth to twins when I get married. Would be nice though.

The next possible two hours was spent listening to the twins and Dave conversing about their favorite sport and you’d be surprised that the twins played football on their school team and have won as much cups you wouldn’t have expected for their age. They gave the accolades to their elder brother though and I made a joke about meeting him and him teaching me to play football too.

My phone’s ringtone disrupts the laughter and I hurry to where it was plugged by the wall and the call is from my mom.

Me: hey mom, how you doing?

My mom: I’m good, how are the twins doing?

Me: they’re good, gisting with Dave.

My mom: okay dear, umm I just wanted to tell you Patricia won’t be able to come this night to pick her kids but her son would be there to pick them up so you won’t be caught off guard.

Me: okay mom, we’d be expecting him.

I go back to where they are and tell them the news and the scowl on their faces tell me they’ll miss my and Dave’s company and that warms my heart. “Hey hey hey don’t worry we’ll see each other more during this summer so no need to frown”. I say in a comforting voice to the twins and Dave nods his head as a confirmation.

Just as I’m done comforting the twins, the doorbell rings for the second time this night and I’m definitely sure it’s their elder brother here to pick them. I walk over to the door and as I pull the door open I’m super shocked at the person I see at the other side…
