Ken

Ken freaking (okay I don’t know his surname yet but I’m sure I’ll know it before I get married to him). My head is going haywire and a lot of questions run through my head like, Why is he here? How does he know my house? Who is he looking for? because I’m honestly sure it can’t be me. I then realize I’ve been standing at my front door for quite some time with my eyes bulging out of my head.

Hoping I don’t seem too creepy, I give him what I sure pray looks like a sweet smile and clear my throat. “Hey Ken, what can I do for you?”. I’m sure he won’t be creeped out that I know his name, I mean who doesn’t know Ken in the whole of Hillwood High School.

I’m seeing a hand waving in front of my face and I realize I blanked out for the second time for the past five minutes now. ‘I’m here to pick up Isla and Iva I was told they were here for you to babysit”. He says in his deep manly voice and I feel like I’m so fulfilled because never in my wildest dreams did I think someone like Ken would ever talk to me.

I just nod my head and lead him in. I see the look on Dave’s face and we can both agree on how shocked we both are about this whole situation. “Okay Isla and Ava, it’s time to go home. Hopefully I see you tomorrow and if not I’m sure I’ll see you two days from now”. My heart warms as Ava walks up to me and gives me a hug and I change it to a bear hug and Isla runs and joins the hug.

I don’t miss the odd but cool greeting between Dave and Ken when the twins went to get their bags and come back to the general room.

Finally, the girls say their last goodbyes for the night and surprisingly, Ken greets me goodnight too because I thought him to be a proud and rude type bu5t we can’t judge a person by stereotypes can we?

Dave and I continue with the birthday plans while eating some left over cookies and when we were done, we binge watch season four of friends and I’m pretty sure we slept on the couch because I don’t remember standing up to my room to have my night bath.

What a night!
