Chapter 5 : Meeting him

"Are you sure you're not gonna need me there, Myra? " Jake groaned as he rubbed his hands on his face. The fact that I'm going out alone were making him anxious.

This was the third time he asked me the very same question. THE. VERY. SAME. QUESTION.

"Relax, Jake. I'm going to a kindergarten, not a nightclub." I let out a small chuckle. It was amusing, truly. To see him anxious.

Seriously, he worried too much sometimes.

"But..."

"I'm not your sister, Jake. You don't have to protect me all the time." I averted my eyes from him. It'll be a lie if I said I didn't have any feelings for him.

Jake looked down.

I smoothed down my blazer that I'm currently wearing, hoping to calm myself and escape the awkward situation. "It's going to be okay. I promise you."

Jake let out a huge sigh, "If you say so, call me if anything happens."

I nodded curtly.

I hid a small knife in my bag since I couldn't bring my gun with me to the kindergarten.

"I'm already late. I'll get going now. Have a nice day, Jake." I gave him a peck on his cheek, the usual routine before I left.

JAKE'S POINT OF VIEW

I swear to god, this woman...

Casually kissing my cheek like it was not a big deal and it was something she used to.

I let out a sigh.

8 years since then.

She never ceases to amaze me.

I met her when she was 16.

A rebel and a troublemaker.

Of course, she already heavily involved in the mafia world and business. She hesitated at first, but when something terrible happened few years back...

It literally changed her. She accepted the role as the 'second boss' of White Wolves. Although I was the second in command, she still had the authority and the power. She was a member of Winters after all.

I was honestly speechless when she became cruel and ruthless. I dare say that she was more cruel than Liam at that time.

She wanted revenge.

But...

When Elena came into her life, Myra showed a completely different side of her. She did a complete 180 when she was with her.

A gentle and kind woman.

And that was when I realized...

I have feelings for her. Not just a crush.

Something more. Something big.

Which I shouldn't have at all!

Shit!

I punched the nearest object near me, which was a wall. Angry and disappointed with myself.

MYRA'S POINT OF VIEWS

"Geez, there are so many people here." I shook my head gently, I hate crowded places. But...

If I recalled correctly...

Last year, it shouldn't be THIS many people.

What happened and what changed?

"Mommy! Mommy!"

I spun around and smiled when a familiar high-pitched scream calling out to me.

Elena called out to me as she came running towards me.

"Hey, sunshine!" I lifted her up and playfully spun her around.

She let out tiny giggles.

I let her down after a moment.

"So... What's going on today? Why are there so many people?" I grabbed Elena's small hand.

"The new teacher!" She replied with a huge smile on her face. She even jumped a little, excited was showing all over her face.

I raised an eyebrow.

The new teacher, huh? Was he really that attractive and interesting?

"People have been surrounding him since this morning. He must be busy now. I can be his last student. Lunch first, mommy!" She dragged me to the canteen.

"Slow down, sunshine!"

"Mommy, this one is delicious! Here." Elena held out a spoonful of cake for me.

I took a bite, "Oh, it is delicious!"

She grinned.

"You've been eating all this delicious food every day?"

Elena nodded, "Yes, mommy."

"Aw, must be nice."

"But Uncle Jake can cook even better!" Elena beamed. Ha, take that Ramsey!

Of course. Jake can cook really well. That is a fact.

The part where he can even cook actually makes him really attractive. I mean come on...

A good-looking badboy with an amazing cooking skill?

Like I said before, what a rare species.

Elena and I spent the next few minutes eating in silence. But something... something just had to happen!

SPLASH!

What. The. Fuck.

I can feel water dripping down my head, soaking me.

"Oh my gosh, I didn't see you there! I'm so sorry, Miss Winter." Victoria pretended to find some tissues in her bag.

I swallowed hard.

This bitch. Did she seriously just dumped her stupid orange juice on me? On my fucking hair?

"Mommy!" Elena gasped.

"You have eyes, don't you? Why are you doing this to my mommy?!" She continued. Hissing at the older woman in front of us.

People are starting to gather around.

Hah... The anger... The humiliation...

Calm down, Myra.

Take a deep breath.

Inhale.

Exhale.

If I could, I would have already shot her and let her die.

But unfortunately, this bitch had a son with the same age as Elena that needed her stupid attention.

I can't kill her.

Just needed time and patience.

"It's okay, Elena. Go back to your class, okay?" I smiled softly.

"But mommy..." She hesitated.

I gently patted her head, "Go, Elena. I'll be there with you soon."

"Okayyyy..." She stuck her tongue out at Victoria before she walked away.

"Mother and child. Both are ridiculous." Victoria huffed.

I took a deep breath again.

This woman really got on my nerves.

"Miss Victoria, I suggest you wear glasses the next time we meet. Hopefully, that will help you." Chill, Myra.

She snorted, "You're in my way."

"I believe I'm actually sitting down with my daughter. How am I being in your way?

She let out a big laugh, "Your daughter?"

"Look at this woman!" She continued.

Oh? This again?

Victoria raised a brow at the crowd that were watching us.

"That girl is not your daughter. I know your secret. Why do you even bother and waste your time by saving an abandoned kid from the street? She is a trash. A damaged good. Even her parents don't want her. You shouldn't..."

I slammed my hand on the table in front of me, silencing her. That was enough. That was too far.

She startled before she finally shut up.

"Victoria, you should learn how to shut your fucking mouth. It's none of your business. She is my daughter. If you insult her, that's mean you're insulting me too!" I'm furious. Really furious.

I continued as I folded my arms, "You are in no position to badmouthing us. After all, you're just a lonely and stupid bitch. Sleeping around with men when you have a fucking husband!"

"Fuck you, Myra!" Aha.

I knew what she was about to do. I could literally predicted her slow movement. So slow.

The dramatic slapping across the face thing. I swear to god, this was not a drama...

She raised her hand, ready to slap me.

I was about to grab her hand to stop her...

When someone grabbed her hand before I did.

Huh? Wha-

There he was. A tall, well-built man stood still in front of me. His back facing me.

Hold on, where did he comes from?

"What the..." Victoria looked up to see who stopped her and her eyes widened at the sight

"Uh..." She stuttered.

What? She can actually shut her damn mouth?

"Miss Victoria, I think it's time for you to leave. You're causing a scene and disturbing our session." His voice was deep as he gave her a warning.

"Don't you know who I am? I'm the wife..." Victoria tried to fight back. Pulling out her husband was working with the president card. The same old trick.

Xavier cut her off, "Leave. Now."

Uh oh. He was not playing.

She bit her lips before she stomped away furiously. Tears in her eyes.

The crowd who were watching us started whispering amongst themselves. Looking very much... excited?

Why?

"Um, I think I could handle that... But thanks anyway." I started the conversation.

He let out a low chuckle.

Jesus, why was his voice sounded so sexy?

A husky and deep voice.

He finally turned around.

Finally looking at me. In the face.

Damn! He sure was good-looking! With those beard and those eyes.

A sight for sore eyes indeed.

He was looking at me with those sharp and piercing eyes.

His eyes...

Looked familiar? Have I seen him anywhere before?

He took off his coat before gently put in on me. Covering my now soaking clothes.

"Uh, thanks." I blinked, not sure how to respond.

Xavier replied, "You must be Elena's mom."

"Oh, I am. And you are?"

"I'm her teacher. Please, let us talk in my class. I'm not fond with all these stares and attention." He cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable with the attention and stares that he got.

"Okay then..."

Have we met before?
