Friends

"Bitch, how are you doing today?" Myra slapped Alex in the arm as she asked her the everyday question.

"Ow! I think you just broke my fucking arm, girl!" She stroked her arm up and down, attempting to relieve the pain.

Myra rolled her eyes, "Stop being so dramatic."

Alex grinned.

Alexander Smith was her best friend. She also happened to be William's girlfriend. This woman has been with Myra for 5 freaking years. Myra had been wondering how and why she'd stayed with her for 5 years. A beauty indeed. She had a beautiful smile and dark brown eyes that shine with joy. Her tanned complexion and short black hair enhance her attractiveness. She knew everything about the Winters too.

Well, who was she kidding? Alex did date an ex-mafia after all.

"So, are we going to the café or not? I'm starving." Myra sighed. When she was hungry, she could become a bit grumpy.

Typical woman.

Alex batted her long eyelashes at her friend and said, "Your treat?"

"Sure. But you'd best start hoping and praying tonight that you're not on my blacklist." Myra gave her a sweet smile and simply warned her about the consequences.

She had the audacity to ask Myra to treat her?

Alex pouted as she folded her arms, "Jesus, you're like fucking rich and loaded but you can't even treat your best friend some cheap lunch?"

Myra shrugged, unbothered by the small matters, "My family sells drugs. It's all business with us. What do you expect from a mafia family? Besides, I know Will usually spoils you with an expensive meal whenever he pays you a visit."

It was true.

In White Wolves, William was supposed to be the second in command alongside Jake, but he declined the role. Instead, he had established his own company in Japan.

Even though he was busy with work, William always made sure he returned home at least twice a month just to make Alex happy. He returned for Alex, not for Myra, his younger sister.

Fuck him for that. But Myra still loves him.

Alex grinned, "I love that guy."

"Don't get all lovey-dovey in front of me. I'm still fucking single." Myra said those things, but she was really happy for Alex. She was, in fact, thrilled to see her best friend dating her brother.

William was smitten with Alex, and Myra had never seen him happier.

"Hm. How about Jake, huh?" Alex wiggled her eyebrows.

Hah, Jake? Impossible.

"No nooo. Are we even talking about the same Jake? Jake Miller? Have you seen him? He is like a stone. Cold and gloomy. At times, he's almost emotionless. I almost thought that he prefers guys." Myra sighed.

"You gotta admit that he's attractive," Alex replied.

Myra rolled her eyes. She knew that better than anyone. She knew the fact that he was attractive and all. Come on, let's be honest. She had known him for a long time, but she didn't think he has feelings for her. At all.

He treated her as though she was his younger sister. And she hated it at times.

"Ugh, have you never noticed how he looks at you? There was-"

Myra cut her off, "Enough, Alex. I don't wanna talk about him now."

"Sheesh, okay okayy. Oh! Are you free tomorrow? Come on, let's go shopping! When Will you come to see me again, I'm going to need a new dress. Oh, and bring your daughter!" Alex smiled, she liked going out and shopping. Myra liked how she dressed up just for William. It showed how Alex appreciate William.

Myra let out a heavy sigh, "I'm afraid not. Parent-teacher conferences are tomorrow. Unfortunately, Elena and I will both be unavailable tomorrow."

"Aw, that's too bad. Next week then." Her shoulders slumped, disappointed.

Myra replied with a simple 'okay'.

"Fuck, doesn't that mean you have to meet that insane woman again?" Alex's eyes widened as if she had just realized something important.

Myra blinked. Once. Twice.

Trying to progress the question that she just asked her.

....

Oh! Fuck.

Myra totally forgot about her! Damn it.

"Damn, that woman really hates Elena and me for no reason." She clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"It's time for you to seek revenge. She's constantly accusing you and Elena. Calling you a slut, a liar, and other offensive words. Spreading false rumors about you. Aren't you going to do anything? Maybe give her a slap as a warning? I'm coming with you if you need backup. " This is one of the many reasons why she liked Alex, ladies, and gentlemen.

"Believe me. I'm working hard to keep my temper under control. It's game over for her if she ever crosses a line." Myra smiled sweetly as she tried to think of methods to get rid of her.

Heh, it should be entertaining.

Alex smiled, "How can you be so calm? If it was me, I would have killed her already. She is so fucking annoying."

Myra shrugged, not interested in discussing these issues anymore. It should be fine as long as the woman does not cross the line.

"Now, come on, I'm starving." Alex then pulled Myra to the café by her hand.

" There, empty seats!"

The pair walked towards the table, each holding the food tray in their hands.

Someone was definitely looking at Myra as they sat down and began eating. Alas, it was a regular routine for him to do that. By that, she meant the staring. Not even surprised anymore.

"Joel, sit. I don't think I appreciate the staring." Myra munched down the food, not even gonna bother to spare him a glance or even look at him.

Joel chuckled as he joined us at our table, "Hey, babe."

Joel was sitting not far from the girls, clearly waiting for their arrival.

"Don't call me that." Myra rolled her eyes, not liking Joel addressing her using that nickname.

Joel took the seat next to her. Oh good, now everyone was looking at them. Wow, she was honored. Take a picture, it would certainly last longer.

Joel Anderson, one of the most good-looking and attractive students in their college. A jock, to be precise. The college's star. He had a dashing personality and a cosmic smile. His mariner-black eyes gleamed with delight and the vigor of youth as they darted around and continuously. They were lovely Irish eyes that glistened with happiness. He was almost similar to Jake and Liam. Broad shoulders and chest. Work out often to keep their physique in shape.

Everyone ... Uh, not everyone.

Some people want a piece of him. Myra was not going to go into detail about it. But Joel wasn't your typical protagonist from romance movies; he actually respected women and wasn't a jerk. What a fascinating species.

"Nope. Why don't you be my girlfriend?" Joel grinned, as he placed his cheek on top of his palm, staring at her.

Ha, the same question every single day.

"Ugh, still not giving up?" Still munching her food.

Joel shook his head and chuckled.

"Jesus, this guy has been seducing you for the past few years and you didn't even look at him. Now, who was the so-called stone? You or Jake?" Alex nudged her friend.

Joel was constantly flirting with Myra. He was putting in a lot of effort just to catch her attention. Even though he was like... that, Joel was a good friend. He was always there for her. Lending his ears and shoulders whenever she needed it.

Myra ran her fingers through her hair, "Look, I'm not looking for a relationship. I thought we already talked about this before."

"I just know that you will fall for me one day. I mean, look at this face. What makes you think you'll be able to resist this?" He made a gesture toward his own face.

That was Joel for you. Typical Joel.

"I've seen better." Myra winked at him.

"Oh, burn! " Alex giggled.

Joel sighed and folded his arms over his chest, "I'm serious about you, Myra."

Oh, he was dead serious. This was a habit that Joel had. His voice would send shivers down your spine when he was serious. He would cross his arm and rake his fingers through his hair, frustrated.

"I told you I don't have time for relationships right now, Joel."

"Myra, we're 24. We got one year left before we graduate. I'm afraid that I won't be seeing you much after that." Joel's face fell, he was wearing a scowl now.

"Joel, I don't think I can look at you that way. You're my fucking best friend. I don't want to ruin whatever we have right now." Myra bit her lips as she put him in the friendzone.

The atmosphere between them was tense. Instead of eating the meal, everyone was focusing on them which was not helping at all.

"You can try me, Joel. I'm pretty sure I can handle two pretty boys." Alex quickly cut in when she felt the tension between the two.

Joel finally grinned. The tension between them slowly died down.

Thank you, Alex. I owed you one.

"No. Myra is the one for me." Joel winked before he ruffled Alex's hair.

"Shush. Too bad. Well, I'm still available. Don't call me when I'm with William though. Hate to see you getting murdered by him." Alex shrugged.

Myra looked at her phone and noticed the time.

"Guys, we have like 10 minutes left before our next class." She then reminded her friends.

"Since when did you even care about classes?" Joel quirked an eyebrow, confused. He knew something was fishy.

"Never. I'm inviting you guys to skip the class and have fun with me." Myra smiled innocently at them. Please work. Please work. Please work.

"Ah ah, no. Myra, we only got one year left here. Are you trying to fail and get held back for another year because I'm sure as hell don't want that and I don't want to be part of your scheme." Alex raised her eyebrows.

Nooo. It didn't work!

"Shit. I hate it when you're right." Myra sighed. And here she thought she could get them to ditch the classes with her. Hey, united we stand, divided we fall!

"I'm not letting you skip the class today, Myra. I'm keeping my eyes on you today. You're gonna stuck with me the whole day today." Oh no, not Joel too!

* * * * * * * * * * *

Joel, Alex, and Myra were sitting together in the class. The usual golden trio. Harry Potter who?

They were currently waiting for their professor to come.

As they were having a conversation, someone interrupted them. She cleared her throat, trying to get their attention.

"Bitch, I believe this is my seat."

Kayla. Of course.

Oh, and she was talking to Myra. She directed her words to her. Not Joel. Not Alex.

"Here comes trouble." Myra sighed, not again.

"Leave Myra alone. Sit on the front row. Can't you see those empty seats on the front?" Alex groaned.

"No. I'm the one who is supposed to sit next to Joel. Not you, Winter." Kayla rolled her eyes.

She didn't even come to class to study. However, Joel was in the same class as her today, so she came to class for him. Yes, of course!

Myra exhaled, "Well, how about you just shut the fuck up and just fucking sit anywhere cause I don't give a fuck about you and your seat. I pity you. A beauty with no brain. Find yourself a sugar daddy for all I care."

That was Myra when she was being nice. Really. She cursed a lot.

When Kayla still didn't budge nor move, Joel let out a sigh, sick of having to deal with this again.

Kayla, the bitch who is constantly clinging to Joel. Myra swears Kayla was obsessed with Joel.

Joel had grown tired of repeatedly rejecting her and had decided to just ignore her.

"Please, for once, be mature. Joel will never look at you, much less pay attention to you. Now go away and leave us alone. Also, please do your assignment. Your work is in desperate need of additional attention." Myra offered her a friendly smile.

"Unlike someone, we are actually trying to study here. This is not a playground nor a pub, sweetie." Alex backed her up, adding fuel to the fire.

"You..." Kayla was trying to fight back when Joel cut her off.

"Just leave. I'm not gonna deal with you right now." Joel looked away from her before he took out his phone, clearly avoiding her.

Kayla pressed her lips tight and gave Myra a look that could kill her before she walked away. Her heels clicked every step of the way. Even her perfume was so strong that the trio got dizzy.

"That girl really likes you, huh? That's creepy." Myra rolled her eyes.

"I saw her making out with a guy yesterday. I don't know if she's eating him or kissing him." Alex shivered. She was trying to get the images out of her mind.

"Gross." Joel frowned.

"Exactly." Rubbing her arms up and down, Alex was still shivering. She was trying hard not to vomit.

"Are we talking about the very same guy from last week?" Myra asked her, curious. They did gossip about Kayla sometimes.

"The one that played footsie with her during our class? No," Alex replied. A look of horror on her face.

Geez.

"Thank god. Only one year left and I won't have to see her stupid face anymore." Joel sighed.

"Well, sir, who told you to be so attractive?" Alex asked.

"Sorry for having this face and stealing all the attention away from you guys. I mean, I could be a model if I want." He smirked, flexing his face.

"Ugh, ego." Myra punched his arm lightly.
