The Barzini

"Myra, we got a huge problem!"

When Myra glanced up from her laptop, Lylia was rushing towards her. She practically slammed the door open. She never did that unless it's a very serious matter.

"What do you mean?" Myra frowned.

Of course, Lylia being Lylia... She was panting and couldn't reply.

"The Barzini are here." Aliyah made her way into the office while sipping her drink.

Myra raised an eyebrow when Aliyah mentioned the name.

The Barzini.

"What about their new boss? Is he here with them too?" She asked her for confirmation once again.

"I don't think their new boss is here with them. They did, however, recruit a few more members." Lylia sighed. Clearly upset that The Barzini managed to recruit new members.

"Thank goodness, it seems that some of them were recruited from the streets. Shame." Aliyah grinned as she leaned against the wall.

"Well, fuck. Where is Liam?" As Myra questioned them, she shut off her laptop. Liam was nowhere to be seen today. Weird.

Liam was usually around all the time. This seemed like a second home to him.

"Liam isn't in his room. I'm not sure where he is right now. He disappeared the day before yesterday. We can't get in touch with him at all." Lylia answered.

The Barzini sure knows when to come, huh? One step ahead of White Wolves. The Barzini were known for their strength and intelligence. Plus their sneaky, sly behavior.

Myra took her gun and a dagger from a drawer and placed them in a little pouch around her waist.

"Jake is already there though." Lylia went on.

Myra let out a sigh, "Tell the others to stand back. Let Jake and I sort things out first."

Lylia nodded before she took off running, leaving Myra and Aliyah alone in the room.

"And it includes you, Aliyah." Myra lifted her brows at Aliyah, causing the woman to pout.

"Aww."

* * * * * * * * * * *

"Well well well. This is cute."

After Myra was done interrupted, a bunch of people looked up. Myra was on the second floor, gazing down on them from the first. It was truly amusing.

"A bunch of scum invading White Wolves' territory. How brave. A surprise indeed. Would you want me to clap for your bravery?" She smirked as she made her way toward the crowd. Every step of the way, her heels clicked.

When they watched the woman walking slowly toward Jake, the once-loud crowd became quiet.

"Huh, it's just a woman." One of them flashed her a menacing grin.

Hold on. Just a woman? Was this his indirect way of telling women they are weak?

"Woman, where is your boss?" He asked.

"Well, what do you need from my boss?" Myra returned his grin.

"He fucking murdered our former boss! He tortured him to death! We want revenge. Don't worry honey. We just want to bring Liam Winter's head back to our new boss." He stated calmly.

Confidence, huh.

"After that, the world will finally acknowledge The Barzini." He went on, still grinning. Others were afraid of her brother. He was known as the King.

Myra laughed unintentionally. Wow, this guy must be new to The Barzini. It's got to be the newest recruit, as Lylia said.

The way he spoke. The way he acted. He actually believed it would be that simple? Just ambush and threaten them on their territory?

"Why the fuck are you laughing, woman?" He scowled as he took a step closer to her.

"You're a moron. How are you even a member of this gang? I thought The Barzini only hired educated and powerful people. Their expectations are high from what I've heard. So, how did you pass the exam? Cable?" Myra questioned him, looking him in the eyes, emphasizing the word 'only.'

"You?! How dare you!" He gripped her hair and closed the distance between them.

Jake groaned, but Myra immediately stopped him by extending her palm in front of him.

Let me handle this, she mouthed to him.

"I'll give you three seconds to remove your filthy hand off of me." She then gave him a warning.

"Oh? Why should I be afraid of you? You just have a beautiful face and a big mouth, don't you?" He gave her a sly grin.

"I'll tell you what, woman. Why don't you accompany me home tonight?" He gave a wink. His hold on her hair began to loosen as he let down his guard.

Myra cocked her brow. Was he serious when he asked her that? Disgusting.

"I don't like to repeat myself." Myra chose to ignore him.

"1..." She closed her eyes and began counting.

"I wouldn't do it to her if I were you!" Lylia yelled from behind Myra. Others could be heard agreeing with her.

"Buddy, you're gonna regret that." Jake took a step back to watch the scene. He was aware of Myra's intention and what she intended to do next, and how much her hair meant to her.

"2..." Still counting.

"I don't think it's a good idea, Milo. Let her go." After quietly watching from the sideline, another man spoke out. He'd been a spectator for a long now, simply standing there next to this 'Milo' guy, doing nothing.

"AC, are you afraid of her? Let me see what you're capable of, beautiful." Milo grinned.

Milo turned around, glanced at his friends, and burst out laughing. Making fun of her and the person who goes by the name 'AC.'

"Uh, no, I heard Liam Winter has a sister, Milo, and you don't want to mess with her," AC spoke quietly.

"What exactly is your point?" Milo groaned and stopped laughing, still clutching her hair.

"I think that's her."

"3." That was it. It is what is it. She did give him a chance. Myra took out her gun while he was still focused on his group before shooting him twice in the stomach.

BANG BANG!

"ARGHH! FUCK!"

He collapsed, clutching his stomach. Ah, the smell of fresh blood...

"I gave you a chance, didn't I?" Myra knelt down and grabbed his hair, letting him taste his own medicine. He groaned in agony.

Enough of the fun. It was now her turn.

"It's funny how the tables have turned." She cracked a grin.

"Listen well. I despise it when others touch my hair. Do you have any idea how long it takes me to curl this hair? Try being a woman for once." As she spoke, she narrowed her eyes toward the group, seeing fear in their eyes. Adorable.

That's when she noticed something... No. Someone was keeping a close eye on her every move.

"I know you're here. Show yourself before I kill this guy." As she continued, she took a glance around. Someone seemed to be looking at her... and I didn't like it.

When they heard footsteps slowly approaching them, everyone quieted down.

"It only took you three minutes to notice me. Impressive." A tall guy with a creepy white mask came out of nowhere and strolled calmly towards them.

Unlike the others, he had a strong presence. Almost similar to Liam. The way he walked confidently. His deep and rich voice sent chills down her spine.

He had a menacing aura.

It was starting to make her feel uneasy.

"Myra Winter." He spoke her name aloud.

Oh?

"And you are?"

"You can call me Scar."

Myra scanned him from head to toe. His shoulders and chest were broad. Someone who was physically fit.

"It's great to finally meet you, the infamous mafia queen, sister of Liam Winter" He added, and Myra could feel him doing the same to her. He, too, was staring at her as if he was memorizing her face.

"Shit. She's that Myra Winter?" Milo cursed under his breath, clearly regretting his earlier actions.

"Shut up." Myra glared at him, raising her gun again.

Scar took a step closer to her as she shot Milo in the shoulder, this time without breaking eye contact with Scar.

"ARGHHHH!" Milo screamed.

Scar made sure he stepped on Milo's body as he approached the woman, causing Milo to scream again.

Their faces were now just a few inches apart.

"Jake, instruct the others to lay down their weapons."

"Myra," Jake hesitated.

"Now."

He sighed heavily before turning around and ordering, "Drop your weapons!"

The sounds of guns and knives falling to the floor echoed down the hall.

"Scar."

"Myra."

Myra carefully put her hand on his mask. It felt as though she was caressing his face. The mask was creepy and funny at the same time.

She could see he was staring her right in the eyes. His dark brown eyes were locked on hers. Myra was hoping he wouldn't notice what she was about to do.

She took the opportunity to kick his shin, but he managed to dodge it.

That wasn't the only thing. He grabbed her leg and held it in place with one hand.

"Fuck!" Myra cursed under her breath.

"Feisty." He chuckled.

Myra was now standing on one leg.

"Oh, babe. You have no idea what I'm capable of. You're in my territory." This time, she decided to punch him in the stomach with her fist. He skillfully used his other hand to prevent her from doing so.

However, she was not done with him yet.

Myra immediately punched him in the face with her other free fist.

She needed to use every part of her body. Remember, think of your body as a weapon.

Myra's jaws dropped when she realized she was hitting the air. Scar tilted his head to the side, avoiding her incoming punch.

What the actual fuck? Myra was dumbfounded.

He predicted every action she made!

Except for Liam and Jake, nobody can read her movements. He was making it look so simple! She was pretty fucking fast too!

That was when it hit her...

This guy was unlike the others.

"You're fast. But not fast enough to stop me."

"Shit," Myra growled.

"AC, take care of Milo and tell everyone to fuck off. I will deal with all of you later." He barked out an order.

"On it."

"These fucking idiots came here without telling me." Scar muttered under his breath, frustrated.

"You as well. Leave right now. Leave before Liam arrives. We'll certainly cross paths again... Scar." Myra warned him.

* * * * * * * * * * *

"Why didn't you just shoot him in the head? Just kill him?"

Scar was about to go when he abruptly turned back and asked the woman a question. Clearly curious to know why she didn't murder Milo.

"Why? Are you volunteering yourself instead?" Myra raised a brow.

Myra had a feeling that he was smiling under the mask, hearing her sarcastic reply.

"I have a feeling we'll run into one other again. Soon." He uttered a low growl.

"Yes. And when that day comes, I'll be the one to murder you and take your head. Mark my word."

"Go ahead. I'll be waiting." He replied before walking away.

"How come you let him go?" Lylia asked shortly after Scar had gone.

"Who? Scar?"

"Yes. You might have just as easily killed that guy sooner. You're carrying a gun with you."

"No. I'd want to fight him when I'm at my best. And now isn't the time. I had a feeling something bad would happen if I did."

Lie. She was not telling the truth.

Myra was genuinely afraid of him. His deep, low voice was already enough to make her quivered in fear. It seemed as though he was threatening her with every word he spoke.

He had a strong and intimidating presence. She couldn't tell the others about this. Regarding how he made her feel.

"Jake," Myra called out to Jake.

"Yes?"

"I'm going to need all of your extra lessons."

Jake smirked, not expecting her to actually follow Liam's suggestion. "I warned you. You wouldn't want to play with fire."

"Don't worry, Jake. I promise I'm going to murder him with my own hands, exactly as The Barzini did to my mother."
