I'm so engrossed in my own thoughts that I don't notice how Hajun steps into the kitchen, and his sudden appearance makes me shriek from surprise.
"Sorry," he immediately apologizes. "I forgot how quickly you get scared."
Biting my lip, I decide to ignore him, because everything I can think of answering at this moment wouldn't be very nice.
Hajun leans against the kitchen counter and observes me cleaning without making an attempt to speak, his tongue twirling around in his mouth. Quite remarkable, actually. I had intially assumed he'd gaslight me and then convince me to return home.
After a while, I break the silence. "Where's Eun?", I ask softly without looking at him.
"She went grocery shopping," he responds.
Well, thanks for the heads up, Eun. I would have appreciated a warning before she left me alone with my angry boss. "What did you guys talk about?"
It's a rhetorical question since they obviously talked about me.
