Reconnect

The man smiled and opened his arms expecting me to hug him. 


"Okay. I've never heard that bit. If you need money go get a job or a loan or something." I tried to close the door as I rolled my eyes but he caught it before it could finally close. 


"No really I am. Jarrod is my father. I saw you with him in Italy. Your Renae right?" He smiled at me as he tried to push open the door. 


"Well I mean it's not hard to get it when you're next in line to be on the council. Especially since you're marrying Adam. Don't worry, I'm not worried about an invitation." 


"Okay bye now." I tried closing the door with all my strength but he kept his hand on the door. He was struggling to keep it open but barely. 


"Please. I just want to know my dad.. please.." He pleaded with me. 


"Why don't you go talk to him yourself? And how did you find me? No one knows that I live here. I literally just moved in. Like ten minutes ago."
