Blurted Out

Yeon Hee sat on a chair at the dining table, curled up like a ball. This girl was silent to hear the angry roar of her friend who sat across from her.

They—Yeon Hee, Ji An and Gi Hoon, had already finished their late breakfast ramyun. Previously, Ji An had complained when she was eating, but chose to finish the ramyun first, after being scolded by Gi Hoon, said that later the ramyun would not taste good anymore.

After the ramyun was eaten, the cutlery was cleaned, then they sat back in the dining room. This time Han Sung joined, but sat a little way off at the kitchen counter, drinking a glass of apple juice.

"I don't want to know! Anyway I'll pick you up and we go together to school starting tomorrow!" Ji An pounded the table to confirm her words.

"You don't have to follow. I'll the one who just pick her up." Han Sung said.

"She's my best friend. Of course I have to come. I have to protect her if the mad guy shows up again."

"If you come maybe it'll be even more troublesome."

"Said who had swollen lips when he first accompanied Yeon Hee to school and was intercepted. You!" Ji An spat out.

"I didn't see it coming! At least I'm not as reckless as you who beat that person up right away!"

Gi Hoon massaged his temples as the argument continued. He glanced at Yeon Hee, who was still silent in her chair, playing with her fingers because of guilt. Poor girl.

"Hey, you guys!" Gi Hoon didn't mean to be angry either. However, his loud and firm voice made Ji An and Han Sung stop chirping. Is his voice that scary? Right now he was expressionless at all.

"Continuing to fight and blame each other will not solve the problem. If you want to help Yeji, then 'delete' your fight. Help each other rather than blame. I think Yeon Hee will definitely be happy to be accompanied by two people who she believes can help her out of that crazy ex's problem."

There was silence. It was very quiet, except for the sound of water dripping from the faucet that was not tightly closed.

"It's true what he said," Yeon Hee broke the silence. "It would be great if you two helped me. A lot of people are getting better. Isn't that so?"

Ji An didn't answer, but she nodded slightly.

Han Sung scratched his nape. "Yea ... maybe." He fixed his gaze to Ji An. "I'm sorry for underestimating you ..."

"Oh ... me too .... I'm sorry," Ji An answered awkwardly.

Unable to bear to see the awkwardness, Gi Hoon clapped his hands together. He didn't know what had happened to him, he just want a fresh atmosphere, even he want to see Ji An's smile when he confidently said, "Shall we go out for fun? Somewhere to freshen up our mind. Maybe to celebrate our truant day together?"

Han Sung tilted his head in confusion. This is the first time Gi Hoon has come up with the idea of 'having fun'. All the while having fun, all Gi Hoon loves is being in his studio making more music pieces, or sleeping.

"Where we gonna go?" Yeon Hee's face began to brighten, excited.

Gi Hoon thought for a moment while making his lips like a thin outline. He was the one who submitted, but he was confused to answer it. He thought of a place until he unconsciously continued to stare at Ji An. ['What place does the girl like so that her face doesn't turn sullen anymore?'] He thought for a moment.

Han Sung followed Gi Hoon's point of view, and stared back and forth between his friend and Ji An who was staring without realizing it. He cleared his throat, "Gi Hoon..."

"Theme park?"

Yeon Hee gave a small squeak, signaling her agreement. Ji An's smile began to expand as she said, "Oh, I haven't been there for a long time!"

Their decision was unanimous. They're going to the theme park. Yeon Hee and Ji An were confused because they were still wearing school uniforms, and finally Gi Hoon lent his clothes and trackpants, which he said were too small. In fact, Gi Hoon's clothes were still loose on Ji An's body, but she didn't mind it.

Meanwhile, Yeon Hee and Han Sung prefer to borrow Ha Joon's clothes, with Gi Joon's definite permission. Han Sung doesn't want to borrow Hee Seok's clothes, because his friend is a bit sensitive when someone unpacks his neat cupboard.

In a few minutes they were ready. Gi Hoon, who was dressed in black from top to bottom, took the key hanging near the door.

"Oh, are we in the vehicle?" Yeon Hee asked, receiving Jo Min's shoes — which had been left on the shoe rack — from Han Sung. Jo Min had the smallest shoe size among DS members.

"By car." Gi Hoon replied in a lazy tone.

"Oh! This slipper fits my feets." Ji An looked at the black slipper she was wearing. "Oh ... there's still a little space. Whose is this?"

"Jo Min," Han Sung replied.

The two girls chose not to wear their school shoes which were only black. Han Sung left his shoes at Gi Hoon's house too, so they could be used someday like what they would do now.

"Car? You mean a real car? Can you drive it?" Yeon Hee sat on the floor to put on the shoes.

"Real car, of course." It was Han Sung who replied. "Gi Hoon can get what he wants."

"What do you mean?" Ji An blinked.

"With all the royalties he got of course—" Han Sung paused because he'd blurted out, again. He glanced at Gi Hoon who was just staring at him with narrowed eyes.

Ji An realized what her childhood friend meant. She also glanced at the boy in black and turned to Yeon Hee, who was already staring at the three people in front of her.

"What are you talking about? What royalties?"

"He's just bluffing." Ji An fake a laugh and innocently she smacked Han Sung's lips at his carelessness.

This is why Han Sung should have chosen to keep quiet. He always blurted out, even though he is a little proud of himself who can keep his own secret from others.

"Do you work?" Yeon Hee was still curious. "What jobs earn you royalties? You seem to earn a lot just looking at your house. I know it's one of the expensive apartments."

Gi Hoon sighed softly. "It doesn't matter. Are we going or not?"

"Let's go now! Come on, come on! Go go" Ji An immediately grabbed her best friend's arm and took the girl out first.

Han Sung and Gi Hoon came out after a few minutes. Maybe a little scolded and argument about the royalty things earlier, Ji An thought.

After a few minutes, they all got into Gi Hoon's black car, and the journey began. Yeon Hee was already talking about what rides they would ride when they arrive at the theme park.

As the girls began to fight over which rides to go first at the back seat, Gi Hoon turned on the CD player and his song played.

"Hey, isn't this the song you listen to a lot, Ji An?" Yeon Hee stared at the front. "You have the same taste in music," she added to Gi Hoon.

"We have the same taste in music." Han Sung emphasized the word 'we' a bit. He doesn't know what he wants to show, but he has an urge to show that he and Ji An have something in common.

"You do? I never saw you listen to this song."

"Not in front of you." Han Sung muttered softly.

"Sometimes we listen to music together at the balcony in our spare time, Yeon Hee." Ji An explained as if it was normal.

That's new information for Gi Hoon, his mind starts to drift imagining how close Ji An and Han Sung are alone at the balcony of the house. But listening to Gi Hoon's song won't make the atmosphere romantic, right? Uh, no, there's another singer he's collaborated with, and the theme song is ... love song. Okay, he's getting a little pissed off. He immediately pressed the radio button and kept pressing until he found the song he wanted to listen to.

"Why did you change it?" Han Sung and Ji An simultaneously complained.

"I'm tired of hearing that."

"Oh my," Ji An rolled her eyes, feeling a little irritated, but then nods her head. "Of course ... there are times when you get bored of listening to your own songs too much."

"His own song?" said Yeon Hee.

Ji An pursed her lips tightly. She turned away from Yeon Hee and stared out the window. She was also afraid to see Gi Hoon's expression. Suddenly she remembered her conversation one day with the Vampire.

-Flashback

"I want to ask you something."

"What?"

"At the day at the cafeteria, you mentioned my stage name, did Han Sung tell you before you sent the demo-tape?"

"Oh, that ..." Ji An tried to think of the best answer, but she couldn't help to avoid the real reason that it was Han Sung who did reveal Gi Hoon's secret accidentally. "Well, Han Sung blurted out about you. But that's because he was proud of you as someone who is beyond expectations when I thought that all you can do is sleep."

Gi Hoon raised an eyebrow. "So, you judge me before you known me, huh?"

Ji An chuckled. "How could I'm not? What's more, your attitude really pissed me off the first time we talked."

"Then when you said you never heard the name 'Suiker', did you already know or did you not know at that time?"

Ji An feels like a suspect being interrogated by detectives in a dark room with dim lights swaying overhead, except that they are currently in a music studio.

"About that ... hmm ... I've already knew," she answered softly. Seeing Gi Hoon's face that seemed to have caught a thief in the act, she added, "At that time I just dodged it so as not to look as if I already knew from Han Sung. That boy was also uncomfortable talking about your secret, he asked me not to reveal it, especially to Yeon Hee."

"Better you'll be. I asked the company not to release any information about me to the media, so I can go around quietly while looking for inspiration. If you reveal info about me, I'll immediately sue you."

"Are you threatening me?"

"Just in case."

Ji An scoffed but she didn't mind Gi Hoon's jokes. "What about your fans? They really wonder hows your 'form' just by hearing your voice in all the songs."

"What 'form' are we talking about now?"

"I mean your appearance. Your face." Ji An regretted mentioning the word 'form', it seems that word took the conversation in another direction. "I think your fans imagine someone who is free to express his every feeling in this song, is a man who is dissatisfied with his life."

At first Gi Hoon smiled at the 'someone who is free to express' part, but his smile immediately faded when he heard the next words.

"Are you sure my fans say that? Not from your own thoughts? I'm sure I've read fan comments that say I must be as cute as my stage name."

Ji An burst out laughing. "Oh my! Are you sure your fans said that? Not from your own thoughts?"

Gi Hoon's side of lips twitched because the girl repeated his words. He was a little annoyed, but somehow he was stunned to see the girl laughing. Even her laughter sounds sweet.

"What are you looking at?"

Gi Hoon turned to his computer. Hoping his face remains pale, because he can feel the heat creeping up his face.

"Suddenly I feel hungry," said Ji An, stroking her stomach.

"You said you ate before you came here." Gi Hoon didn't turn his head, busy fiddling with his computer mouse.

"Yea .... I'm hungry after seeing your cheeks like warm steamed buns."

O-oh! It turned out that the blush on Gi Hoon's cheeks was clearly visible.
