Chapter 4|You Got Drunk, Didn't You?

•Don't give my baby sister alcohol, are you stupid, Jay?•

Maxwell Hart (Mg).

*Two Days To My Birthday*

I woke up from a very disturbing sleep feeling so much worst than I had on Christmas morning back when I was eleven.

I had crept downstairs at midnight on Christmas Eve with my feet patted with red and white Reindeer stockings and I ate a whole jar of Christmas sugar cookies.

The night I tiptoed into the kitchen. The cookie jar was literally calling out to me, the cookies whispering my name.

"Siieennaa... You know you want me."

Though I regretted my decision at morning because while Mg and my cousins made snow angels and built snowmen outside, I was under the covers whinning about my awful stomach ache.

This morning was similar to that one except it was so much worst and once again I regretted my impulsive decision.

I am never taking a drop of alcohol again.

I groaned at my throbbing headache as I took my glasses from the nightstand and tried to get out of the bed I had noticeably slept on.

I felt my heartbeat quicken when I realised I wasn't in my room and certainly not in my bed.

I made the bed neat as quickly as I could.

Making my way out of the room, I followed the sounds I heard which were all coming from downstairs.

I noticed what I was wearing.

Whose clothes were these and where the heck was I?

And more importantly where was Lizzie?

I clutched the stairs' handle as I continued my walk down the stairs, the cold tiles sending shivers into my body through my bare feet.

I heard Lizzie's voice among the voices and I called out to her.

"Lizzie?"

Just like magic, she appeared in front of me.

"Si," she said as she pulled me into a hug at the staircase's landing.

"I'm so sorry I left you last night," she apologized hurriedly,"I'm sorry I let your light weight ass drink. God, Si are you okay? Jason said he made sure you were comfortable."

She led me towards the sitting room and the whole place was unbelievably spotless.

You wouldn't even guess that there was a party here last night.

The party. . . Jason.

How did Jason make me comfortable?

"Jason?"I echoed as Lizzie and I settled into a cushion,"I can't remember anything. What happened last night, Liz?"

"I only know so much because I kinda passed out and-"

"And you call me light weight,"I told her.

"Do you want to know what happened or not?"Lizzie asked.

"I want to know."

"Anyway, Brandon tucked me in at one of the guest rooms but I got up like an hour ago to search for you but Jason said you were asleep so I waited," Lizzie explained,"Now you can go get ready and I'll drop you off."

"Who's Brandon?"I asked,"And did anything happen last night? Like umm, you know."

"Brandon? Umm, he's Brandon Bishops, Si. Everyone knows the guy."

Oh, that's his name. I knew it was something religious, just wasn't sure what it was exactly.

"And about Jason?"I wondered.

"Nothing happened between us last night,"A voice said and I turned to see Jason standing there with his hair damp and a steamy coffee mug in his hand.

He handed the coffee to Lizzie who thanked him with a pleased smile.

"Umm, thanks for letting us sleep here,"I told him a bit unsure of how to put my sentence but thankful nonetheless.

Jason nodded,"you thanked me already but you're welcome."

"I did?"

"Yeah, last night."

Oh.

{∆}

After confirming last night's events with Jason which I felt so embarrassed of that I face palmed myself a million times in my head.

I mean, I asked a stranger to hug me so I could sleep better.

Who the hell does that?

Me apparently.

Stupid Sienna.

Stupid.

I hurried upstairs back to the room I had woken up in to change out of the comfortable PJs and then I noticed something.

This wasn't just a guest room.

If I was judging by the pictures of Jeanette Macaulay and Jason, Jason and Brandon Bishops, Jason, his sister and his parents, this was Jason's bedroom.

And I needed to get out of here.

After changing back into my clothes from last night, I folded the silk PJs.

They were probably Jeanette's.

Everyone knows Jeanette Macaulay. She's a model and an actress. I have seen all the movies where she had a lead role and they were amazing and honestly, all pride aside, I was a fan.

I was wearing her PJs.

Oh my God!

I snapped out of my fan girl thoughts when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in,"I called after making sure everything including myself was in place and Jason walked in.

He held a dark green letterman jacket in his hands.

"I just wanted to give you this," he said,"it's a bit cold outside."

Like I said, winter's coming quick. Whose idea was it to wear this outfit anyway?

"Thanks,"I said, not believing any of this was real. Lettermans were giving to athletes at my school who were outstanding. Jason played for the football team during his sophomore and junior years but to the disappointment of everyone, he quit the team at the beginning of this term.

Though, Brandon still plays.

Jason's letterman had his surname in front.

They were personalized too, I guess.

Why was he being so nice to me?

Maybe he was just nice?

I mean, he did walk over to me from his very comfortable seat in the store two days ago just to return my book ownership card.

"You're welcome," Jason said as he stuffed his hands inside his hoodie pockets, "Lizzie's waiting for you downstairs."

"Umm, Jason,"I called before he could leave, "thanks for letting me stay. I mean, letting me sleep in your bed-I mean, in your room."

"You just kinda fell asleep in here and I didn't want to wake you," he said and a small part of me was filled with disappointment.

So I just stumbled in here?

He didn't actually want me in here.

"But it's okay, that's what friends do for eachother right?"

Friends.

"Yeah,"I said though I was a bit unsure,"I guess so."

With a small smile from him to me, Jason stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him.

I slipped the jacket through my arms and like I expected, it had his scent.

Honestly, I kinda... liked it.

Next, I pulled my shoes on and then I walked back downstairs to meet Lizzie.

[Ω]

I took a breath of relief when I shut the door behind me in my home.

Though there feeling only lasted for a little while.

"Sienna Gabrielle Hart! Get in here right now,"I cringed at my mom's call to me from the kitchen.

Kicking my shoes off, I walked into the kitchen barefoot and Sky came running.

Licking at my toes even.

Smiling, I knelt down to his level to say 'hi' him.

"Hey, buddie! Did you miss me?"I cooed and with a loud bark from him, I could tell his answer was yes.

Sometimes, I liked to think of Sky and I like as Christoph and Spen from the Disney Movie Frozen but except with the whole talking for him thing because actually I could actually tell what he was thinking and at times like this I felt he could actually understand me.

I got off my knees and I noticed the other people in the kitchen.

The whole gang was here.

Dad, mom and Mg.

My dad wore a plaid green shirt with jeans like always.

Mom had on typical mom jeans and an elbow sleeved maroon shirt and Mg wore a reddish Tee with the name of his University on it and grey joggers.

He had a cup in front of him on the counter.

"Do you care to explain to us where you were last night and why you didn't call me?" My mom asked as she folded get arms beneath her chest.

Trouble.

I was in trouble.

"Umm, I spent the night at Lizzie's after the party,"I said lying as smoothly as I could. "Her internet was down."

Mom gave me this look and I knew she knew.

Lizzie's internet was never down.

It's Lizzie we're talking about here.

Elizabeth O'Conner.

"I'm really sorry, mom, really,"I blurted, "We lost track of time to we stayed over at Jason's house, "I looked over at Mg for a bit of assistance,"You know, from the store."

Mg took a sip from his mug and shrugged,"I remember."

"So, we spent the night there but I promise nothing best happened and then in the morning we came over here, Liz and I. I'll never ever go to a party again. "

My mom shook her head as she walked over to me and she pressed a kiss to my forehead after smoothening my baby hairs, "Baby, I'm not upset you went to a party. I trust you enough to let you go in the first place but I am upset about you lying to me, losing track of time and also missing the Sunday morning Mass. You can go to parties but you have to promise your dad and I you will be responsible and you'll be home on time and if you can't come home, I want you to call either of us. No sleeping at someone else's home without permission. Got it?"

I nodded, exhaling.

"I love you, sweetie and I need you to be safe. I need to know where my baby girl is."

Thank goodness mom wasn't mad. I guess I was lucky to have a mom as amazing as she is.

Seeing it's Sunday, I wasn't lucky, I'm blessed.

"And the jacket?" My dad asked.

Jacket?

What jacket?

Damnit!

Jason's letterman.

"It's Jason's,"I said honestly though a bit weary,"he gave it to me because of the cold outside."

"Is that it?" My dad asked, staring at me, searching for any signs on my face that I might be lying.

"Yes, Daddy,"I said, using 'Daddy' like I always did when I wanted something.

He chuckled as he walked up to me and placed a kiss on the side of my head.

"Just to be clear, I'm not fully on board on the part thing so if there's gonna be a next time, I have to know," he said before he and Mom left the kitchen but not before Mom called out my breakfast was in the refrigerator.

Mg turned to me,"You got drunk, didn't you?"

"Absolutely."

"Never lie to me, ever,"Mg said and I laughed as I headed upstairs to my bedroom with Sky to take a warm, relaxing bubble bath.

*One Day To My Birthday*

"Lizzie, I honestly think it's really sweet that you're doing this for me but I don't need this much clothes. I have enough clothes at home,"I said to my bestfriend who placed the multiple clothes she was getting me in my outstretched arms and yet she was still searching for the hangers for more.

"Nonsense, it's your birthday tomorrow so I'm just being a good bestfriend and getting you the best winter closet ever and maybe some other stuff, " she said as she pulled out another item and examined it.

It was a bubble gum pink woolen long sleeve turtle neck.

She placed it in my arms with a wide some

smile.

"Liz, my arms hurt,"I complained.

"Fine, party pooper,"Lizzie groaned with an eye roll, "how about we go get something it eat after I pay for these?"

"Sure,"I told my bestfriend,"I completely agree except I'm paying. I can pay my clothes and by the way, you've bought me enough already."

We walked to the checkout point and Lizzie had a frown on her face.

"But they're are presents, Si. It's not a present if I don't actually buy them with my money."

"The present was you picking them out for me, Liz,"I said, "If don't pay, what kind of a bestfriend am I?"

"The over spending,"I said sarcastically.

"Ha, ha, very funny, Si," She said before she swiftly pulled out her card and handed it to the cashier.

"Lizzie!"

"Chill out, you can pay for lunch," she said dryly and in a couple minutes we made our way around the mall searching for the best place to eat at.

"Liz, how about we-"I stopped mid sentence when I spotted him.

Oh no.

Not today.

"What were you saying?"Lizzie asked.

"You know, how about we just head back to the store and eat something there instead?"I suggested as I tried to pull her away before she could see him too.

"Wait, So, isn't that Jason and Brandon?"she asked me as she waved them over.

I tucked my hair behind my ear and pushed my glasses up my nose bridge.

Suddenly, I felt insecure about how I looked.

Today, being Monday not that it affected how I dressed or anything, I wore my hair when with this cute blue hair thing tying it down in front.

I had a long sleeved cotton Tee in the shade purple beneath a grey sleeveless fleece zip up hoodie, a simple pair of regular for jeans and neat white vans.

"Hey," Jason said once he and Brandon got to where we stood.

"Hey,"Lizzie chirped, full of excitement.

You know, come to think of it I never really understood why she needed coffee when she already filled with so much 'I'm walking on sunshine' energy.

Yes.

I made that up.

Also, it's a good thing Lizzie answered because I was very sure I wasn't going to say anything.

"What are you guys doing here?" she asked them, looking from Brandon to Jace.

Wait a minute.

Jace?

I could feel his eyes on me and I felt my heartbeat quicken a bit under his stare.

Definitely a new reaction.

"My mom wanted me to grab a few stuffs for a dinner tonight, so I called my buddy Jason here to tag along,"Brandon answered.

"Okay,"Lizzie nodded, "Sienna and I were just about to grab a bite, you guys wanna come?"

Okay, back up a bit.

Is it me or is Lizzie a bit too comfortable with them?

Brandon in particular.

He keeps staring at her like. . . like Mg stares at Courtney.

She's been gushing on and on about my birthday that it hadn't crossed her mind to tell me.

"What do you say Jason?" Brandon asked his Jace as looked over at him.

There was that nickname again.

Get it off your tongue, Sienna.

"If Sienna's okay with it, "Jace said, "she hasn't spoken a word since we got here. We wouldn't want to intrude."

All three pairs of eyes turned to me. I was being put on the spot.

"U-umm, y-yeah,"I wanted to come off as certain and outspoken but that was a total burst because guess what? I came off as shy and stuttery.

Once again, my tongue betrayed me.

I know what you're thinking, yes I keep the friendship circle small and I love it that way but I'm not shy.

I just like to have my own sleeve but with Jace-Jason-being here, I felt crowded but for once, it felt weirdly uncomfortable.

"So,"Lizzie said trying after we settled down, trying to start a conversation.

"So,"Brandon said,"you girls never said what you were here for?"

"Oh, yeah, we're shopping for Si's birthday tomorrow,"Lizzie said casually as she took a sip of her drink.

Of course.

Tell the guys I know absolutely nothing about every single detail of my life in one sentence.

"We're having this mini get together at her house tomorrow. Hey, Jason, since you and Sienna are friends now, you can totally come. Si, would you mind if Brandon came too?"Lizzie looked over at me waiting for my response and I felt the urge to whack her in the head.

"What?"I asked her a bit panicky, voicing my thoughts.

"It's okay,"Jason said, "like I said, we wouldn't want to intrude but you but you wouldn't mind a present, would you?"

"Oh no, thank you. It's fine really," I said, avoiding Jace's eyes by twirling my straw inside my drink.

"No, really, I don't mind," Jason argued,"I know it a bit last minute but I'm sure I can get you something nice."

"Of course, Sienna would love that, wouldn't you, Si?"Lizzie asked me.

Taking a deep breath, I gave Jace a tight lipped smile, "Sure, thanks."

The things we do for our friends right?

And incase your wondering, no.

I didn't pay for lunch.
