Yet another

Six months later

Six months had finally come to an end and Laila was looking forward to returning home, to her friends, even though she had become close to Hail in the last few months there was still a part of her that could never trust him. Ging was just a constant headache changing the way the act went from one week till the next, she was getting tired of the show every week. She’d just been lucky that no one had recognised her.

She was hoping now the six months was over she could leave, leaving them both behind her, but Ging being Ging had bigger and better ideas.

‘I’ve got an idea.’

‘What is it now?’

‘I want to take the act to another level.’

Laila walked into the living space looking curiously at Hail and Ging.

‘What’s going on?’

‘Ging has an idea. He wants to take the stage act to the next level.’

‘How? It can’t be performed by anyone else people will catch on.’

‘They won’t just listen.’

‘Sorry Ging but I’ve had enough of this shit. It’s been six months and I’ve done all you asked me to do no more.’

‘I know, but I need you I can’t do this with out you.’

‘Do what?’

‘A movie.’

They both looked at him confused.

‘What are you on bro? We can’t do a movie.’

‘Sure we can, Laila as bate, you the slasher, and me directing it.’

‘No way.’

‘How long is this going to take?’

‘Who knows.’

‘No way. You got what you wanted out of me. I’m out of here.’

‘No you’re not you’re part of this too.’

Laila looked at Hail.

‘You promised. You said if I done the act with you, you said I could leave. You promised.’

‘You promised her freedom, you really have got it bad for her. You’ve fell for her haven’t you?’

Hail looked at Ging, unable to answer.

‘I knew it cant you do anything with out your emotions taking over.’

‘I can’t help the way I feel. You like her too.’

‘That’s not the point. I didn’t screw her!’

‘You tried.’

‘Look if you want to be with her the only way you can stay together is to do this movie, then we’ll all be happy.’

‘Apart from me.’

‘Don’t you want to be with him?’

‘Maybe if he wasn’t the way he was. Maybe in a different lifetime, not this one. I don’t trust either of you I might wake up dead.’

‘No you won’t.’

‘Look do the movie, then you can go I promise.’

‘Okay.’ She said angrily.

‘Great.’

Ging quickly kissed Laila on the lips.

‘We’ll start tomorrow.’

‘How are you going to set it up you aint got a video camera?’

‘Sorted. I’m popping into town to Limpy’s to get one.’

‘You’ve sure thought of everything.’

‘All I ndeed was for you two to say yes. I knew you wouldn’t say no I knew I could twist you round to my way of thinking.

He paused for breath before adding. ‘I’ll go and get it now.’

He walked out of the room, and out of the flat closing the door behind him.

‘I’m sorry I didn’t know anything about it.’ Hail said trying to place his arms round her.

Laila pushed Hail away. ‘Don’t touch me! You promised.’

‘I know, I should’ve known. Well at least he promised to let you go after the movie.’

‘And I’m supposed to take his word for it? You promised and you let me down it was all a lie. What makes you think he’s going to tell me the truth?’

‘I – I.’

‘Exactly.’

Laila slouched down onto the sofa in floods of tears. Hail sat besides her placing his

Arms round her. ‘Come here.’

‘Leave me alone!’

‘What’s up Laila?’

‘It’s so unfair. I was hoping to get out of here. I’ve had enough of this shit every Saturday night, being part of your sick stage act. What the hell is he going to come up with next?’

‘I honestly don’t know.’

Ging walked back into the flat into the living space where Hail was sitting, and Laila was lying across him asleep. Hail looked at Ging angrily. ‘What’s with your face?’

‘She’s pissed big time.’

‘You shouldn’t’ve made her a promise that you couldn’t keep.’

‘Neither should you. We both know you aint going to let her go out of that door when this is all over. At least my promise meant something.’

‘But would you have let her go when it came to it?’

‘If I had to yes.’

‘Look I’ve got big ideas for this movie.’ Ging said placing the DVD-Corder on the table.

‘Big things will come of this I promise.’

‘I don’t need dead promises I need the truth.’

‘I always tell you the truth I aint bent. I just have ideas, big ideas’

‘Yeah maybe that’s your problem.’

‘Chill Hail it will work out to our advantage you watch.’

‘What – ever!’

‘So how’s this going to work?’ Hail asked Ging.

‘Horror movie.’

‘Horror movie then how’s it going to work?’

‘Well it will start with your live performance at the back of the club the usual pulling some bird out of the audience ‘

‘So I’m not a part of it?’

‘Not this time babe.’

Hail butted in. ‘And!’

‘You do the crucifixion thing that you always do.’

‘And what happens to me when you’re doing all of this?’

‘You can stay here.’

‘Great locked in again.’

‘You’ve got to prepare yourself and read your scenes.’

‘What sort of scenes?’

‘Blood. Sex, the usual horror stuff.’

‘Great.’

‘So how’s it sound?’

‘Could work.’

‘Course it’ll work you’ve just got to have faith in me little bro.’

‘So when does all of this start?’

‘Saturday the posters are already out. There will be hundreds there coming to see the live crucifixion and it will all be on this baby.’ Tapping the DVD- Corder ‘All I’ve got to do is set it up and we’re ready.’

‘How long is this going to take?’

‘A couple of month’s maybe. We’ll just see how easy you get into it.’

‘Fabulous. Can’t wait.’ Laila said un-enthusiastically.

‘Don’t worry babe you’ll have plenty of time to practice till then!’

Ging laughed.

‘Don’t be gross.’

‘It was a joke Laila take a chill pill. You really need to lighten up a little you’ve known us long enough to be yourself round us.’

‘I am.’

‘Could’ve fooled me.’

‘Suck shit.’

‘Now that’s more like the Laila we all know and love.’

Ging and Hail laughed.

‘Shut up!’

Ging and Hail continued in a fit of hysterics almost in stitches on the floor.

‘Shut up! It aint funny!’

‘It is I’ve never known a girl to directly say how she feels and hit someone.’

‘She deserved it.’

‘I know babe.’

‘Can we just forget about that night?’

She knew why she wanted to forget about it, and it wasn’t because of the fight it was what happened after and how she got involved with something she’d never dream of getting involved with, she wanted to forget about it, but wasn’t about to being with hail and Ging the two people that had dragged her into it now wouldn’t let her go.

‘Sure babe.’
