Week 7 - pt 1
14th October
Connor met Autumn by the bridge. ‘You okay this morning babe, has your migraine
gone?’
‘Yeah for now.’
‘It’ll be okay.’
‘I hope so.’
‘Come on let’s go.’
He dropped his arm over her shoulder and they walked away.
Their friends stood waiting. ‘You’re early.’
‘Yeah Autumn wake you up?’
‘No she didn’t. I woke early didn’t get mulch sleep and Autumn was on time.’
‘So Con wake you up then?’
‘He called me yes. Two hours before school.’
‘Gee Con you need sleeping pills.’
‘They don’t work.’
‘Oh shit don’t look now but el stroppy is coming. I hope he don’t have a major strop on him today. His face cuts through you when he’s in one of his moods.’
‘Guys.’
‘Dan.’
He looked at Autumn. ‘Autumn.’
She swallowed. ‘Dan.’
‘I’d like to take this chance to apologise to you. I was being a dick.’
‘You can say that again.’
Daniel scoured at Jae. ‘Anyway I was having a bad week, so I hope you didn’t think it was you cause it wasn’t and I’m sorry. We friends?’
‘Yeah.’
His arms flew around her. She reciprocated unsure if she should as she felt a little awkward. He moved away. Connor stood vexed. The bell rang.
‘Come on let’s go in.’
They all walked in. They all said their goodbyes going to registration.
He pecked Autumn on the cheek. ‘I’ll see you later babe.’
‘Yeah Later red.’ Dan added.
‘Later.’
She went into her biology lesson. Connor turned catching Dan off guard, his hand around his throat. ‘Hey what gives? ‘
‘I told you to apologise to her not suck up to her.’
‘I did.’
‘Where in our discussion did I say hug her?’
‘You daint, So what it made it look more real. Look you told me, no begged me to apologise and be friends with her and I have deal with it.’
‘I am. But, from now on we are no longer friends we shall talk to each other for her and nothing else are we understood?!’
‘Loud and clear now loose me Con we have lesson.’
He loosed his windpipe and they went into lesson.
Stenton looked at her smiling. calling her over to him.she sat next to him Jarrod sitting agitated. She was his lab partner now cause every god damn science teacher said it would be best for them to sit next to each other cause he was struggling he’d lost his lab partner someone who he connected with and was as brainy as him. ‘So did you get rid of your migraine?’
‘Yeah last night.’
‘I’m sorry red I’m just not clever and you are.’
‘You’re trying Stenton.’
‘Not hard enough.’
‘You can only try your hardest.’
‘I’ll try harder.’
‘I guess.’
‘So how’s things red?’
‘Okay I guess.’
‘So are all of you talking again.’
‘I guess.’
‘So if we’ve got homework are we okay to do it this week end?’
‘I guess.’
‘Sweet.’ He said smiling.
‘Don’t forget its Halloween next weekend I’m having a big party. I’d like you to be there.’
‘You’re inviting me?’
‘I am. Con an the guys are going I’d like it if you would to.’
‘I’ll think about it I don’t do Halloween.’
‘How come?’
‘It’s personal.’
‘That’s a hint to mind my own fucking business understood. But I hope you’ll come.’

‘Right class settle down.’
He smiled as they began their biology lesson.
The bell rang for the end of lesson. The all walked out of the room. Connor met Autumn. ‘So how’s it go?’
‘Okay.’
‘And Stenton?’
‘He’s okay. I have a migraine.’
‘You’ll have more than one believe me.’
‘I know at least we have no homework this weekend.’
‘Good were going costume shopping.’
‘What for? I don’t need a costume.’
‘We talked about it remember?’
‘Not really no.’
They sat down with their lunch. ‘We’re meeting the guys Halloween and going to Stentons’ party.’
‘I don’t know Con.’
‘I’m sure he’ll be fine for you to come with us. If he’s not I’ll sort it with him.’
‘He is Con he’s already invited me.’
‘That’s good, so what’s the problem?’
‘I don’t do Halloween it’s not a good time of year for me.’
‘Your with your friends what can possibly go wrong?’
‘Everything.’
‘It won’t red trust me.’
‘What you guys talking about.’
‘Halloween.’
‘I hope your coming.’
‘As always.’
‘We hope your coming to Autumn we have something special planned.’
‘Like what?’
‘You’ll see just say you’ll join us.’
‘I don’t know.’
‘It’ll be fun trust us.’
‘I’ll think about it.’

They all high five slapped crashing their fists eating their lunch she sure hoped she knew what she was getting herself into. They pulled themselves up going outside for a cigarette before registration.
They had a cigarette before they went into registration.
‘I’ll see you last lesson babe.’
‘Okay.’
They went their separate was. Connor looked at Stenton. ‘I’ve managed to twist Autumns’ arm into coming to the party.’
‘Cool?’
‘Just keep your trap shut about last Halloween okay we don’t want her to freak out on us okay.’
‘You can trust me Con.’
He walked away going into lesson.
The bell rang and they all packed up Their stuff ushing out of the class. Connor placed his arm around Autumn.
They met Ashby, Harry and James for break. ‘So no more awkward silence and name calling?’
‘No it’s all sorted.’
‘Good now things can go back to normal and we all can have lunch together and hang.’
‘Sure.’
They had their cigarettes and the bell rang. They all doubted out their cigarettes going to their last lesson before lunch. Connor sat next to Autumn. ‘Everything okay babe?’
‘You sure everything’s okay with you and Dan?’
‘Couldn’t be better.’ He lied.
The bell rang for lunch Connor and Autumn met their friends for lunch before having another cigarette before the bell rang fro the final two lessons of the day.
The five friends walked out of school together, walking home.
‘We’ll see you guys tomorrow.’
‘You will.’
‘Later Con, Autumn.’
‘Later.’
‘Yeah bye.’
Their friends walked away as they continued towards the lake and the bridge. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow Autumn.’
‘Okay.’

15th October
Autumn and Connor met up at the bridge. ‘Where’s Dan?’
‘He said he’d meet us there.’
‘Oh okay.’
‘We’re talking babe, just we both thought it as best if we kept it like this for a while it’s a little out of his way, unlike me being only ten minutes away.’
‘That’s fine Con, let’s just go.’
‘Sure.’ He placed his arm over her shoulder and they walked away.
‘I’m surprised your not walking with Con and Autumn seen as you’ve all kissed and made up.’
‘Nagh I thought I’d leave them to it.’
‘You mean you feel like the third leg.’
‘Something like that.’
‘Here they come.’
‘Guys.’
‘Con, Autumn.’
She smiled briefly.
‘Well now we’re all here we can go in.’
They all walked into the school as the bell rang.
‘We’ll see you three at break.’
‘You will.’
They separated. ‘I’ll see you break babe.’
‘Sure.’
Connor kissed her cheek making her feel uncomfortable.
‘Later red.’
‘Yeah later.’
Connor and Daniel went into registration as she carried on down the corridor to see Mathew. He stood at the door. ‘Good morning Autumn.’
‘Matt.’
‘Please come in.’
She stepped in he closed the door.
He looked at her. ‘So how are we this morning?’
She looked at him weird. ‘Okay I guess.’
‘Please take a seat.’
She strode over to the sofa falling into it. He walked over sitting opposite her. ‘So how’s things with you and your friends now?’
‘Okay I guess?’
‘So your still not talking?’
‘We are…’
‘I feel a but coming on.’
‘But it doesn’t feel like it did before’
‘How?’
‘Just Con and Dan don’t seem to be bouncing off each other like they were?’
‘Maybe you just think they’re acting different guys tend to act different round girls.’
‘Maybe.’
‘It will go back to normal Autumn. You’ve just got to give it time.’
‘I will.’
The bell rang.
‘Well I’ll see you Thursday and see how you’re getting on okay.’
‘Okay.’
They pulled themselves up he opened the door. ‘I’ll see you Thursday Autumn.’
‘Okay.’
She walked out of the office Mathew closed the door.
Connor placed his arm round her. ‘So we all okay.’
‘Yeah.’
‘Good lets get to class.’
They walked down the the to lesson. ‘You okay babe you seemed a million miles away.’
‘I’m fine…Con.’
‘Yeah babe.’
‘Are you sure you and Dan are okay just…’
‘We’re fine babe okay.’
‘You’re acting like your not.’
‘We are okay. Come on let’s go for a fag.’
They walked down the corridor. They met their friends having a cigarette today was so silent like yesterday was he telling her the truth?
The bell rang. They went in for their last lesson before lunch.
Autumn and Connor sat down after choosing their lunch, a pork roast which looked barely cooked, Ashby called them over. ‘Come on babe.’
They walked over to their friends sitting down. ‘So where’s Dan?’
‘Duknow ain’t seen him.’
‘I’m here guys teach kept us back.’ He said sitting down.
‘So are you lot going to talk to each other or are we going to have a wall of silence every day.’
‘We are Ash just we’ve got nought to say.’
They ate their lunch and went outside for a cigarette.
The bell rang and they all said their goodbyes for registration con kissed autumn on the cheek. ‘I’ll meet you at the end of school babe.’
‘Okay.’
Connor walked away.
‘So are we okay to sit together again.’
‘If you like.’
‘You have to like too.’
‘Sure.’
He smiled and they went into class sitting down he smiled at her everyone and again, unnoticed.
‘Right class I’d like you all to pair for the next part of the term for your course work so Mr. Harrison I’d like you to pair with Miss. Cleveland you could learn a lot from her and been as your friends it’s much easier than pairing her with some one she doesn’t know. So you best knuckle down Mr. Harrison and don’t let her do all of the work.’
‘I will sir and I won’t.’ He smiled, she looked unsure Connor wouldn’t be happy about this at all.’
The bell rang as the course work was handed out.
‘Right class you may go.’
They all pulled themselves up leaving the room.
‘Great ain’t it red me and you working together.’
‘I guess.’
Connor placed his arm round her kissing her cheek. ‘You okay babe.’
‘Yeah..’
‘Me and red have got pair for our next piece of coursework ain’t that great.’
Connor looked at Autumn to say what the hell?!
‘Sorry Con the teacher paired us seen as we knew each other its okay isn’t it.’
‘I guess.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yeah let’s get out of this dump.’
They met their friends at the gates they could tell Connor was pissed, but said nothing.
They all said their goodbyes.
Connor kissed Autumn goodbye. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow babe.’
‘Okay.’
‘Night Autumn.’
‘Night Con.
‘Yeah night red.’
‘Dan.’ She said waking away.
Connor turned without warning grabbing Dan tightly by the collar of his shirt tightening it around his neck. ‘Whowh Con what gives man?’
‘The smug look on your face, you best wipe it off before I wipe it off permantly.’
‘What you talking about Con?’
‘Rubbing it in that you and Autumn are doing your course work together that’s what!’
‘The teach paired us Con seen as red and me knew each other.’
‘Her name’s Autumn.
‘I know, chill Con. We’re just doing our course work together nought else.’
‘You better not be. You can keep your grimy hands off her.’
‘I will chill Con. I thought you were okay with us being friends.’
‘I am. You don’t need to rub it in that you’ll be spending time with her in my face.’
‘Gee Con chill were friends. I won’t be the only one Stenton will to remember.’
‘He’s had his warning now you shall. You touch her and I’ll break every bone got that.’
‘Loud and clear Con now can you please lose the shirt.’
Connor loosed his shirt. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’

They walked in opposite directions Dan smiled he was going to enjoy this getting right up Connors nose as he spent time out of school with Autumn to do their school work.
15th October

16th October
Autumn hadn’t seen Connor since they’d left registration as they had no lessons with
each other this morning. She walked down the corridor and out the double doors walking down to the smoking area where she lit a cigarette. ‘There you are.’
She choked, looking at him. ‘Connor.’
‘Babe.’ He said kissing her cheek lighting a cigarette. ‘So how did you morning go?’
‘Slow just wish you were in lesson with me.’
‘How come? Things ain’t that bad are they?’ He asked blowing the smoke out of his mouth.’
‘Just I feel like I don’t belong.’
‘You will babe.’
‘When Con they all look at me as if I’m trash.’
‘They’re just jealous babe trust me they’re all in comp with one another. They’re all sluts ignore them.’
‘I’m trying.’
‘Anyone else hassling you?’
‘Not really the guys try and talk but the cut eyes say the girls want them to have nothing to do with me.’
‘Just try and ignore them babe it will get better trust me.’
‘I hope so.’
He edged closer. She stood nervously. ‘It will.’
‘Bu..’
He pressed his lips on hers kissing her, she foolishly returned his kiss, he slipped his tongue in kissing her harder and harder, tears slipped down her check. He moved away looking at her concerned. ‘What’s wrong? Everything will be okay babe they’ll get over it trust me no one likes a new face they forget as the weeks go on trust me.’
‘Is that what happened with you?’
‘Yeah. Dan was my only friend when I begun it took the guys over a month to come and talk to me, but were friends now and your ours. We’re all that you need Autumn trust me.’ He said moving forward.
‘Put her down Con leave it for the bedroom.’
He moved away. ‘We weren’t doing nought just talking.’
‘Looked more than just talking.’
‘She’s had a bad dad I was just trying to reassure her everything would get better.’
‘So the slags still giving you grief?’
‘A little.’
‘Ignore them Autumn were your friends I’m sure you’ll make more they’re just jealous because you’re getting more attention than them they’ll get over it.’
‘I guess.’
The bell rang and they doubted their cigarettes out walking away going to their next lesson.
Connor draped his over her shoulder as they walked walked to He dinner hall meeting their friends.
‘Hey over here.’
Connor looked over Ashby calling him over to join them. ‘Come on Autumn.’
They walked over to the table where his friends were sitting placing their treys down, sitting next to one another. ‘So today better than yesterday?’
‘I guess.’
‘So you okay now Autumn.’
‘I guess.’
‘We all know how it is autumn it’s either the guys or them sluts they’ve been through most of the school.’
She looked at him.
‘Yeah we’ve all been there there’s only a few girls here that are like you Autumn and they don’t like the fact every guy is digging on the not so pretty and perfect or the pretty that hasn’t put out before school has ended. Guys respect girls like that we respect you.’
She smiled briefly.
‘Come on let’s go fo a fag.’
‘Sure.’
They all pulled themselves up going outside.heading for the cigarette corner. They lit their cigarettes smoking till the bell went for the end of lunch. ‘We’ll meet up in the usual place.’
‘Sure.’
‘Later Autumn.’
‘Later.’
After registration Connor and Daniel said good bye to Autumn. She walked into her lesson wishing that they were still with her.
Everyone met outside the school, Connor draped his arm over her shoulders and they walked away.
‘We’ll see you tomorrow guys.’
‘Will do.’
‘Later Autumn.’
‘Later guys.’
Autumn and Connor walked towards the bridge.
‘I’ll see you guys tomorrow.’
‘You will Later Dan.’
‘Larter.’
‘Yeah Later Dan.’
He smiled walking away.
‘So is everything okay now babe now you’ve got it all out in the open.’
‘Yeah thanks.’ She kissed him on the cheek moving away, their eyes connected he pressed his lips onto hers kissing her hungrily.
He moved away, she looked so lost, so confused. ‘I’m sorry Autumn. I didn’t mean..’
She looked at him.
‘Well.’ He said quickly steering away from the present situation. ‘I’ll see you tomoz.’
‘Sure.’
He smiled turning, walking away she stood confused.
