"Leo!" Knives yells when I swerve into the parking lot.
My hands and legs are shaking and I resist the reckless urge to look in the rear view mirror again, we nearly drove off the road the last time I did it.
"We're here. We're here, Leo! Stop the car!" I pull the keys out and the engine shuts off immediately.
I rush to the backseat and pull Sunny from the car.
Ignore the blood. Ignore the blood. Ignore the fucking blood.
"Leo!" Knives' loud voice shakes me from my state of shock and I run after her with Sunny in my arms.
Her eyes haven't opened since they shut in the car and her skin feels hot to the touch. Shouldn't bleeding out make the body cold? Why the fuck are her arms on fire?
"She's hot, Knives! Why is she-"
"Hello! We need some help here!" Knives screams at the women in scrubs when we enter the hospital.
Their voices are muffled as I stare down at Sunny in my arms.
Fuck, she looks dead.
She's not fucking dead!
