Chapter 9

Ash walked through the palace. He couldn't simply leave, since he was one of the five heros. If he just disappeared, the king would think he betrayed the kingdom, but Ash had an idea. It was almost a cliché but it would work just fine. The only problem he could think about, was how he could explain this to his parents. Being a hero wasn't his dream and he didn't want that everyone thought about him as a hero.

Two days later, Ash had figured out a problem. If he wanted to vansih, he couldn't prey for a blessing, because the church could detect blessings and if Ash was correct, the heros blessing wasn't just unique but also powerfull. Consistently, receving a blessing would trouble Ash more than help him. Instead of preying, he just sat in the church and didn't think or said anything.

A month had passed since Ash was "summoned" and they got their first mission. While they drove to their destination, Ash collected every information he could find. He told the others about the monsters weak pionts but they didn't listen to him. Since they were blessed by their gods and had the title "hero" they had changed a lot. Alll of them were arrogant and Ash didn't like them at all, but he couldn't wish for a better opportunity. As long as they ignored his information, they were going to be surprised and they would lose their formation. Ash couldn't hide his cunning smile.

When they entered the battlefield, they could see an army fighting against some medium monsters but Ash and the others weren't here because of the medium monsters. As soon as the monsters sensed the four heros, one of them made a loud roar. Then the monsters started to retread. The battlefield got quiet, but not for long. Another monster appeared on the battlefield. Ash could felt something familiar about the monster. When Ash got near to the monster, he noticed something in its eyes. The monster had something simular to Ash. It took him no time to figure out why it seemed familiar. Infact, it looked like Ash when he transformed into his wolfform.

Ashs eyes widened when he remembered a passage in one of the books he had read in his mansion.

It said that there were once a race of animals with human proportions. They were called Demi-Humans, but the human kingdoms felt offended by their existence and started to attack them. Ash, who had remembered this passage, felt like he got slaped in his face. How could he have forgotten that most humans were nothing but crule. Even though he liked his parents, Ash decided that he wouldn't come back.

Ash turned around and fought against the other four heros. He didn't say a word, but his actions told them what they needed to know. While Ash fought against them, he tought about his new life. He was betraying the kingdom and would be their enemy soon. He blocked the slash of Luke, who had tried to cut of the demis head. Then he used his magic to tie up Mayple, who had been their second Damage Dealer. Mark, their tank tried to attck Ash, while Lucy attacked the demi. Ash dodged Marks attacks and used his magic once again and threw Mark into Luke, who had sneaked up behind Ash. Both were K.O. after Mark hit Luke and the only one left was Lucy who had tried to attack the demi, but she had messed up and when Ash used his magic on her, she lost her consciousness. The only person on the battlefield left was Mayple, who had watched the fight, unable to help them. Ash starred at her and the he walked of. The demi, who had watched Ash fighting against the other four humans, graped Ash, lifted him up and ran towards the meeting point. He didn't know why this little human had betrayed the others, but he had noticed the change in his eyes when the human had looked at him. While he carried the human towards the meeting point, he felt like the human was relaxed.

"Why did you bring that human with you?" one of the demi- humans asked.

Ash lifted up his head and looked staight in a throat. The first thing he thought was 'Did they ever hear of something called Toothbrush? Oh god, this smell could kill someone.' and his second thought was 'Wow, i'm getting swallowed. What an interesting way to die.' Ash started to speak. "Would you please not swallow me?" he asked. But the demis around him couldn't understand it. Ash decided to make help them understand. He connected his thoughts with theirs and repeated himself. 'Would you please not swallow me, i can think of a better way to die.' Outside he could hear a rumble outside. "Who was that!" someone asked. Another one searched for the voice, while the demi, who had carried Ash, noticed that one of them had something in his mouth. The two legs, which hung out of his mouth, were going slowly deeper into his throat. The demi inmediatly rushed over to Ash and pulled him out of the others throat.

'That's better.' Ash said, after he could see the sun again. 'Well, atleast i am awake now.' The demis around him were confused. His voice was in their heads and he acted like it was normal for him to get half swallowed. The demi, who had brought him here, his name was Arkron, tilted his head. "So tell me, why did you help me?" he asked. Ash looked at him with a strange expresion on his face. " Say that again." he said. Arkron, who was confused because of Ash, did as Ash wanted. While Arkron spoke again, Ash listened closely. Arkrons voice was deep, but also smooth. Ash was now sure, he could listen to this voice for hours. However, if he wanted to hear his voice again, he needed to answer Arkrons question. "I wanted to. The kingdom tells everyone that we are fighting against monsters, but you don't look like one and on top of that, you don't think like one." Arkron was shocked. They didn't know the reason why the humans attacked them and now there was this young boy, who said that the kingdome believed they were monsters. "Do you mind coming with us? I think you will need to talk to the king." Arkron told him. Ash nodded. "I will come with you, but i need something before we can go." he said.
