Magic?

"Is this what Xavier is calling me for?" Richard asked.

[Very likely. This mutant has been hunting down other mutants and seems to have some power to absorb their abilities,] Queen confirmed.

"How long ago did he begin his hunting?"

[The first case was registered a few hours ago… so at most 4-5 hours ago.]

"Good, we're heading to the school. Also, prepare a set of rescue bots in case he begins his plans early," Richard said as he tidied up his desk.

This incident didn't concern him even one bit, and he definitely knew how to survive Apocalypse. But there was another reason that compelled him to go after the mutant, and that was his access to Celestial technology.

En Sabah Nur wouldn't be Apocalypse if it wasn't for the Celestial technology he had access to. Richard wanted that Celestial technology and knowledge. Celestials were basically gods, and who knew what knowledge he could gather from them?

Maybe his already impossible technology would improve even more, or he would gain new powers if that was even possible. For the most part, Richard just wanted to study the technology, and anything else that happened from then on would happen.

Several minutes later, Richard was inside a car heading straight for Xavier's School for Mutants. Honestly, in Richard's opinion, this school was a bad idea… well, not exactly a bad idea, but its location was placed in a bad place.

If Xavier wanted true safety, he should have purchased an island and built the school there so he would be free to modify the environment as much as he wanted. He could count how many search warrants the government had issued just so they could harass him and his students.

When they weren't harassing them with minor inconveniences, they were sending soldiers to the school to eliminate half of the students or kidnap them so they could be experimented on. In simple terms, Xavier may have indirectly created a massive camp for the US government to pick as many mutants as they wanted whenever they pleased.

"Revive," Richard chanted softly while placing a hand on his chest as a small golden light burst out from his hand and spread out to all parts of his body.

In doing so, Richard immediately felt refreshed as though he had just taken a nap. This was one of the many things he had learned in this passing month. The explosion had given him knowledge way beyond what he should have—thousands of years' worth of knowledge.

He had finally managed to process it all and categorize it, and the end product was the realization that he had somehow absorbed the knowledge from the demons behind the portal before its explosion. The explosion gave the Fantastic Four their powers as expected, but it gave him what he called an "Absorption Radius" or a "Learning Circle."

This simply meant that as long as you were within a certain distance from him and didn't have any powerful mental defenses, he could absorb or copy your knowledge. This power wasn't absolute since it doesn't work on certain people for various reasons, but his normal power of touch seems to overcome all of its flaws.

Arranging everything he had gained from the demons, Richard derived a few extra things, one of which was called "Blessing Magic," a possible new kind of magic that Richard derived from curse magic.

The entire point of curse magic is inflicting harm upon its victim or invoking evil upon someone. There was no real thing that made the magic type as evil as it is said to be; it was just the words and some of the magic circles used in casting it.

Thousands of years' worth of magical knowledge allowed Richard the chance to completely reinvent the steps and procedures to this magic, thus creating "Blessing Magic." A type of magic that works nearly the same as curse magic, but rather than harm the victim, it blesses them instead with certain traits that could be permanent or just temporary.

The other type of magic Richard had learned was demonic magic, which involved sacrifices, payment, etc. He hadn't truly learned this form of magic very well since he had been focused entirely on curse magic, and even then, he hadn't finished studying it.

Minutes later, Richard was in front of the massive school and could see the children running around and doing as they liked without any care in the world. Seeing them, Richard smiled, knowing that the school would probably be destroyed again in the following week or so.
