Broken

William reached an abandoned soap factory where Megtia last sighted.

The area is so huge and the roof is so high that there is not much objects inside which could easily make echoes.

"Megtia?!!?" William shouted

"Are you in here?!"

The sound bounces back to him but there are no reply. The fact that nobody is answering him makes William worry more.

William's leg is still sore so he cant run much but he still tried his best to roam the area. William has now gone in circles but there is no sign of Megtia being there but as he is about to leave he noticed a crack on the ground beside a box.

"Maybe there is a hidden trapdoor or something.

William moved the box and as he suspected there is a path underneath.

He went downstairs and walked the long path ahead of him.

The room doesn't give off that much light but thanks to his training he is able to tell what surrounds him.

A few minutes of walking later, William has found a room at the very end of the long hallway.

He touched the sides of the door and noticed that it is slightly bent backwards.

A opened the door and there he saw Megtia with a ballista aimed at his back.

"Hey Megtia, wake up wake up." William said as he was untying Megtia's hands.

He shook Megtia for a while but it didn't take long for William to notice the dried blood in Megtia's shirt. He lift's the shirt and noticed that small hole was punched its way popping Megtia's heart.

Then William remembered the door, he thought to himself that the impact must've been so powerful that it bend an iron door.

He forgets about the weapon and continue waking Megtia up. He pulled him out of the chair and called for help but they might take long.

He pulled a healing formula from his mind windows but it doesn't seem to help either.

William is crying hoping that any moment now Megtia would wake up but it doesn't seem like it.

William shouted in despair but he knew himself that even the help called for wouldn't be able to help.

He realized that his friend died because he is weak.

The help came but William just sat there staring at the corpse he is holding.

The medic team also said that there is no hope in saving someone from what kind of hole.

As William stood up he noticed a blueprint of a weapon prototype called Heartbeat weapon activation system.

"I am not only weak but I am also dumb for not realizing that the beefcake would use such precaution." William said to himself

A few days passed and it comes Megtia's burial.

Even though nobody blames William for what happened he still thinks that he is responsible for the death of his friend.

Back to the underground base of Argusian's, Sebastian has now gotten the helmet, the shoes and the guns that Locke used.

"So how does the process start?" Sebastian asked

"First we must need a sacrifice." Marianne said

Sebastian and Circa put on a fighting stance which made Marianne laugh quite a bit.

"I didn't say a human and not an alien either, Although we might end up using Baron's head, is that okay with you two?" Marianne said

"Yea sure not like its gonna hurt us or anything." Sebastian said

Out curiosity Circa asked "If we don't have Baron then what else can be used as sacrifice?"

"A chicken or another person with so much arcana." Marianne replied

"Why a chicken." Circa asked once more

"I am not that much aware of why but our ancestors apparently forced millions of arcana to chickens in which resulting to having most of the chickens powerful." Marianne said

"That's weird."

As Baron's was split open his blood started glowing and start going to each of the weapons. The weapons is slowly starting to melt and not even Marianne is sure if what they are doing is right at this point.

"Everyone walk back from it!" Marianne shouted which the other two followed.

As the other two reached the wall their throats was suddenly slit and blood started gushing out from the room. Turns out Nemesis planned it along with the help of Scar and the Lady Marianne.

"That was pretty neat." Scar said

Lady Marianne went towards them stomps Sebastian's head killing him straightaway.

Circa saw what happened and her eyes widened she went for an attack but she forgot that Nemesis can also move as fast as her. She was grabbed by the legs and throwed to the other side of the room breaking her ribs.

"Next is William." Marianne said

Just behind the door is Suzy, she heard everything and now she felt that the need to run which she needed but as she reaches the corner Fleex is there blocking him.

"I'm afraid you're not allowed to leave." Fleex said

"Get out of the way, I am gonna get killed anyway." Suzy said

"Miss Canofort just to make you aware we never lied about anything but I am pretty sure Lapeto has told you before why we're doing this." Lady Marianne said from behind her

Suzy then remembered what Lapeto has told her in the chopper before.

"William didn't break any promise, he didn't promise you anything to begin with!" Suzy shouted

"Yes but we also didn't tell him to split the amount of arcana we get." Marianne said

"You people doesn't make any sense, I am gonna leave this place and warn William about you!"

As Suzy run away Scar followed but Suzy outrun him making him resort into throwing his blade with Suzy being hit by its hilt.

"Too bad Ms. Canofort, we might end up being good friends." Marianne said as Scar carried Suzy on her back

Back in William's newly rented studio type apartment,

William can be seen on working on a machine that doesn't look familiar to anyone.
