Drowning (Poem)

Relentless

R E L E N T L E S S

Suffering

Encased tightly to tame

To avoid confrontation and blame

Wearily pained by the day

Much of it is the same

Dark

Deep

Hollow

Tiresome

Do You know the words that the mouth could never hope to speak?

Do You understand the stripping of the soul when its dying?

Nightmares scarier than real life

Real life draining the depths of the human spirit

Constant river of tears streaming down and creating puddles on the bedroom floor

A living, breathing being with a bleeding core

Is death at the door?

When did waking up become a chore?

What good are ever-shifting emotions for?

The chance of floating is the chance of sinking

The chance of going is the chance of stopping

The chance of doing right invites the wrong

The facts of living makes the opportunity of not easier

Hear the cry, O Lord!

Hear the utters of those in affliction

Hear them, O Lord!

Save them....save them
