There was a man!

"You can let him go now", Wilson as he walked towards Carter and Alvin. Alvin did as Wilson said and let go of Carter, who tried to run away immediately but got caught by Wilson by the arm.

"Calm down, I'm not going to do anything to you", Wilson said, trying to get Carter to calm down a bit. "You'll be going to stay with Charles till Jason's been cured. Your father will explain everything that's happening to you tomorrow".

"...What? My dad knows?", Carter asked, surprised by the revelation.

Wilson nodded

"Then why didn't he tell me?", Carter asked, his voice low.

"If you want to know then go with Charles and the others to his mansion. Your father will come over and explain everything to you", Wilson said.

After a little bit of thinking, Carter nodded and left the gym to join Charles and the rest, who were waiting in the van.

"Do you think he's gonna be okay?", Alvin asked. He had long recovered from being hit in the ball. Being a vampire, he had an super enhanced healing factor.

"Yeah", Wilson answered. "A little sleep will help".

"No, I meant Jason", Alvin said. He felt really guilty. He was the one that turned Jason, his little brother into a vampire. If he hadn't, Cashel's werewolf venom would have turned him into a werewolf instead of being incredibly lethal to him.

Four months ago, when Alvin was in transition to become a vampire, and all he needed was a single drop of blood to fully become a vampire, he looked himself in his house and refused to leave since getting close to people meant ripping into their veins. In his self-quarantine, Alvin tried to eat some food to get rid of his thirst for human blood but he could no longer taste anything and all he could think about was blood.

Not bring able to eat anything, Alvin chose to starve himself instead of drinking blood to turn into a vampire. He couldn't take it anymore after starving himself for a few days and was driven into a state of madness by his hunger. In his crazed stated, he when to the nearest house, which was his and Jason's parents' house. He fed on his parents and killed them afterwards. Still in his crazed state, Alvin forced Jason to drink some of his blood to turn into a vampire so that Jason could feel the euphoria he was feeling after consuming blood for the first time. Then then twisted Jason's neck and killed him to begin the transition.

Alvin only then awakened from his crazed state and realized what he had done. Overcome with guilt, Alvin ran away. Jason later woke up as a transitioning vampire. Being a miner and having his parents killed by his own brother, Wilson Bohen, who was their uncle from their mother's side, became Jason's legal guardian.

After sorting out his emotions, Alvin came back to Beaconsdale a week ago to make up for what he did but only received hatred from his brother.

"He's going to be fine. Charles and I, along with Ivan will be going to get the cure for him tomorrow", Wilson answered.

Alvin nodded and sighed. "At least I know I won't if I'm bitten by a werewolf in the future", he said, trying to lift up his own mood.

27th October, 2020.

Next day, Tuesday morning.

Emily stretched her body as she woke up. She laid back down on her bed and her eyes fell on the framed picture on night stand beside her bed. It was a picture of a woman with blonde and unique reddish brown eyes, carrying a baby in her arms.

"Good morning, mom", Emily said before getting from bed. She had to get ready for school.

She went to her bathroom and showered, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair and then put on some clothes. She then went downstairs. She was a bit surprised that her father was up and was still home. Her father, Giuseppe Rocco, the town sheriff, often leaves home early to the station. It wasn't rare to see him still home at this that Emily didn't know why she was even surprised.

"Good morning, Dad", Emily greeted her dad.

"Morning, honey", Giuseppe said as he took a sip of his morning coffee. He got up to serve his daughter some breakfast.

"I thought you'd be at the station by now", Emily said as she took a seat at the table.

"Gotta get you to school first", Giuseppe said.

"But I always go with Kyra and Cashel", Emily said.

"The twins won't be going to school today, that's why I'm taking you", Giuseppe said as he place a plate of egg and bacon in front of Emily.

"Why did something happen? Thanks", Emily asked and thanked her father for the food.

"No, nothing happened. They'll be helping Charles with some stuff", Giuseppe said.

"Clinton?", Emily asked.

"Yeah", Giuseppe said.

"With what stuff?", Emily asked.

"Nothing important", Giuseppe dismissed the question.

Emily nodded and got back to eating her food. For a while, there was silence. The clutter from Emily's knife hitting the plate and Giuseppe occasionally sipping his coffee were the only source of noise.

Emily suddenly remembered something.

"Hey, Dad", she said.

"Yeah!", Giuseppe responded.

"So, about mom..", Emily said.

Giuseppe sighed. "What about your mom?", he asked. "I've told you several times that she died of cancer".

"I know but...", Emily said but stopped halfway.

"It's nothing. I'm done. I'll just wash the dishes and then we can leave", she said.

Emily didn't want to say it but she felt like her father was lying to her. She felt like he wasn't telling her the entire truth.

Beaconsdale hospital.

Elena had been feeling really bored laying in bed all day. The doctor told her that she could go home by Friday, since she wasn't stabbed that deep and the dagger had not hit any vital organ.

She was sitting on the bed when she heard a knock on the door. She wasn't even expecting to get any visitors.

"Come in", Elena said.

The door crept open and a tall handsome man with light blonde hair, wearing an stylish overcoat, walked in. He was holding a bouquet of beautiful begonias in his hand. This man was none other than Charles Clinton.

"I wasn't expecting visitors", Elena said when she saw Charles walk in.

Charles smiled and asked, "How're. you doing?".

"Great...", She said "...for a woman stabbed twice in the torso. I should be able to go home in a couple of days", Elena replied.

"That's great then", Charles said as he handed the begonias to Elena.

"Thank you", Elena smiled and sniffed the flowers. "How did you know they were my favorite?", she asked.

"I'm just a really good guesser", Charles shrugged. "So did you remember anything", Charles took a seat and asked.

"No, still nothing. The doctor said it could be because of shock", Elena replied.

The police told her she fell victim to mugging. Apart from that, she somehow couldn't remember anything.

"Okay, can I try something?", Charles asked as he moved closer to Elena

"What?", Elena asked.

"It's a technique I leant a while ago. It's supposed to help you remember stuff you've forgotten", Charles said and started to slightly massage Elena's temples.

"Close your eyes", Charles said.

Elena slowly closed her eyes.

"𝑐𝑜𝑔𝑖𝑡 𝑣𝑖𝑚 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎"

Charles whispered the spell so Elena wouldn't hear it.

"Okay, open your eyes", Charles said, "Do you remember now"?

Elena opened her eyes quickly searched through her to memories to see if she could remember

"Yes", she was. "There was -- there was -- this man -- he was -- wearing a hoodie...", she tried to say something but she kept fumbling her words.

"Hey, hey, hey, calm down. Take your time", Charles said.

Elena exhaled and calmed herself down.

"Good. Now what do you remember?", Charles asked.

"There was a man -- I don't remember his face. He was wearing a hoodie. He stabbed me and then took my purse to make the police think it was just a mugging... But there was some else. His eyes, they were completely... black", Elena said.

Hearing this, Charles's eyebrows knitted together.

"And there were these lines, they seemed like veins, under his eyes. There were also fangs in his mouth. It was as if he was not human", Elena said.

Charles sighed and said, "Thank you".

"For what?", Elena asked.

Without answering, Charles put his hands on Elena's temples and for a split second, her pupils dilated. Charles then stopped.

"No, still nothing. The doctor said it could be because of shock", Elena said.

Charles got up and said, "Well, I hope you get well soon. I have many things to attend to so I should get going".

"Take care", Elena said with a smile.

Charles nodded and started to walk towards the door but suddenly stopped. He turned around and asked, "Would you, maybe like to get something to eat together sometime after you get discharged"?

"Yes, I would love to", Elena replied without any hesitation.

A smile appeared on Charles's face as he walked out the door.

"See you then. Goodbye".

"Goodbye".
