Testing strengths

Joy!

Serenity!

These are what Jason was feeling as he stood under direct sunlight after having to avoid it for three months. He couldn't help but smile as he felt the warmth of the sun. He closed his eyes and opened his arms wide to enjoy the the warmth as much as possible. Three months ago, he wouldn't have ever thought he would one day miss the warmth of the sun.

Jason suddenly thought about something. He had only been a vampire for three months and he always had to avoid direct sunlight. Such torture. But what about those that had been vampires for longer.

Those who've been been vampires for a year. Two years. Five years. Ten years. Twenty. Fifty. A century or even longer.

How would they feel if they could stand again in the sun and feel its warm rays.

"Are you done?", Bryce's voice, filled with annoyance, suddenly broke Jason out of his thoughts. He turned his head in Bryce's direction and saw the mild sneer, plastered on his face.

Jason almost let out a laugh when he was Bryce's expression but held it in. He suddenly walked up to Bryce and pulled him into a tight hug. Without Bryce casting the spell, he wouldn't be standing in the sun right now. He felt really grateful to both Bryce and Charles.

"Thank you!", Jason said.

Bryce wanted to pull away from Jason at first but gave in when Jason suddenly thanked him. He didn't expect Jason to be this much excited to be in the sun again, to hug him when they barely knew each other. He smiled and patted Jason on the back.

"You can let go now", Bryce said when he noticed that the hug was going on far longer than a casual hug is supposed to.

"Sorry!", Jason apologized as he pull away and released Bryce.

"Okay then, let's go", Bryce said as he turned around and started to walking to the back. They were going to test how strong Jason now was.

Jason glanced at the ring on his finger one more time; his new daylight ring. A smile appeared on his face before he followed Bryce to the backyard.

The two went to the back of the mansion where they saw Carter with the twins: Kyra and Cashel. The three were a couple of meters away, standing next to a really large boulder next to the treeline. The back of the mansion led straight into the woods hence, the treeline.

Bryce and Jason walked over to the three. They saw Carter hugging a boulder and Kyra and Cashel watching him from the side. They got closer and realized that Carter wasn't hugging the boulder but was actually trying to pick it up and was clearly failing at it.

Carter was trying to test his night hunter powers. If his memories were right, he hadn't shown any extraordinary skill ever in his life. His father, Ivan said night hunters should have enhanced strength and other enhanced qualities. He was quite fast and physically fit since he was an athlete but other than that, he didn't seem to have any supernatural abilities.

"Okay, stop. Just stop", Kyra said. She couldn't take in the embarrassing view anymore. She turned around to leave but then saw Jason and Bryce approaching.

"Jason!", Kyra exclaimed out of shock, drawing the attention of Cashel and Carter.

Kyra was caught off guard when she noticed Jason was walking in the sun without any restrictions. She ran up to him without even realizing it and encased him in a hug. Jason was shook.

Kyra immediately realized what she had just done immediately pulled away from Jason.

"...Oh, I'm sorry", Kyra said, suddenly getting awkward and flustered.

"No, it's okay", Jason assured with a smile.

"You can walk in the sun again", Kyra said after a second of silence.

"Yeah. Incredible, right? Thanks to Bryce and Mr. Clinton", Jason said and Kyra could only nod along.

Then there was a sudden awkward silence between the two. Either of them could think of anything to say.

"Hey", Bryce said, breaking the awkwardness as he walked to the boulder that Carter was previously trying to lift. "This would be perfect to test out exactly how strong you've become now".

"You sure?", Jason asked, uncertain.

"Yeah. Then Kyra and Cash could also try to lift it then we'll see who's stronger", Bryce said.

"Yeah, that'd be awesome", Carter said, suddenly eager to see some supernatural strength at work.

"Yeah, let's do it", Cashel said, also wanting to see which of the three was stronger.

"Okay then", Jason said as he walked to the boulder.

Jason bent his knees and put his arms around the boulder and held onto it firmly. He put all the strength he had into his legs and tried to lift the boulder. Surely the boulder was lifted off the ground. Jason had raised the boulder about two feet off of the ground. That seemed to be his limit as he couldn't raise it any higher. Jason put the boulder back on the ground as he was started to get tired.

"Awesome!", Carter exclaimed, awestruck.

The boulder should weigh about 1500Ibs/680 kilos and Jason was able to lift it. It was incredible even though he could only lift it two feet off the ground.

Were all vampires this strong? Carter couldn't help but wonder.

"My turn", Cashel said as he approached the boulder.

He imitated Jason. He bent his knees and put his arms firmly around the boulder and shifted all his strength into his legs. He was able to lift the boulder off the ground roughly about the same as Jason.

Cashel was a werewolf with a primordial bloodline. Even though he only transformed last night, he was still a werewolf with a primordial bloodline. This confirmed that Jason was now roughly as strong as a primordial bloodline werewolf.

Cashel grunted and put the boulder back on the ground. It was now Kyra's turn.

Kyra approached the boulder and took a deep breath before bending down and grabbing around the boulder firmly.

The mouths of the four boys opened wide as Kyra lifted the boulder off the ground with much ease than Jason and Cashel. Kyra could still stand straight while holding onto the boulder. The boys felt a shiver down their spins as Kyra flexed the strength of a primordial bloodline werewolf.

Kyra let go of the boulder and the boulder hit the ground with a loud thump.

"Guess I'm the strongest", Kyra said with a smug smirked on her lips.

An average werewolf without any training should be able to lift about 600Ibs/272 kilos and the same went for average vampire. While well trained werewolves and older vampires should be able to lift up to 1200Ibs/544 kilos.

Right now, Jason and any primordial bloodline werewolf can lift about 1400Ibs/635 kilos while a trained primordial bloodline werewolf like Kyra could lift up to 1600Ibs/726 kilos.

Beaconsdale Highschool.

While the five teenagers were testing strength, it was time for extra curricular activities. Daniel and Kevin were hanging out on the bleachers, watching Zane, Mitch and the rest of the football team practice on the school field. Emily was sitting on the adjacent bleachers, watching Katherine and the other cheerleaders practice.

"Why do you like this anyway? I don't see anything special about it", Kevin asked Daniel. He didn't really like watching football as much as Daniel did.

"That's because you never see anything special in almost everything", Daniel said, apathetically.

Kevin didn't argue with him because he knew his brother was right so he just shrugged it off.

"You should tryout sometime", Kevin said.

"I enjoy watching it, doesn't mean I want to be on the school team", Daniel said.

"Why not? Seems easy", Kevin asked.

"Everything seems easy to you", Daniel said, apathetically.

"Well not everything. Things like chemistry and biology are really hard", Kevin said as he relaxed himself on the bleachers. Since he didn't have any formal education before, he had to study extra hard to keep up with others.

"Whoever invent school should rot in hell" Kevin added as he closed his eyes to relax more.

"You should tryout since it seems easy, maybe then I'll tryout too", Daniel said.

"Hell naw", Kevin dismissed the idea with a chuckle.

The two continued to sit in silence until Kevin suddenly got an idea and got up.

"I'll be right back", he said as he started to go down the bleachers.

"Where're you going?", Daniel asked but Kevin didn't answer and continued to go down.

Kevin got off the bleachers and started to jog towards the field.

"I thought you weren't going to tryout", Daniel shouted but Kevin just ignored him.

Kevin suddenly caught a football that was flying his way.

"Throw it", Kevin heard Mitch shout but ignored him and went over to them instead.

Kevin threw the football at Zane who almost didn't catch it in time before it hit his chest.

"One on one. You and me, right now", Kevin said.

"What?", Zane said, confused about what was going on.

Ever since he woke up this morning, Zane's been having the feeling that something happened: something he couldn't remembered. It's been flustering him the entire time. And now Kevin came out of nowhere, probably to pester him more.

"What do you want, Kevin?", Zane asked, this time annoyed.

"I said a one on one, you and me right now. Try to keep up", Kevin said, impudently.

"Why?", Zane asked.

"Just because", Kevin said apathetically.

"You're challenging me...", Zane started and stopped for confirmation, "...just because?".

"Yeah, pretty much", Kevin said, straightforwardly.

"Don't tell me you're scared I'm gonna beat you", Kevin taunted when he saw Zane let out a sigh out of frustration.

"Okay then. Let's do this", Zane said.

"Let's go get up set up", Mitch, who heard everything, gestured for Kevin to follow him to the locker room to get him some equipment.

"No, I don't need them", Kevin denied. He was really confident in his skills.

Mitch looked at Zane, who looked back at him.

"You sure? It could get really dangerous", Mitch asked, concerned. Being on the team himself, he knew exactly how dangerous on the field. Aside from that, Zane already had his gear on.

"I'm sure", Kevin assured.

Seeing this, Zane decided to instead take off his protective gear so as to not hurt Daniel accidentally with it.

"What're you doing", Kevin asked as his expression dulled.

"What does it look like I'm doing?", Zane retorted.

Zane took off his shoulder pads and helmet before they started.

"...Okay", Mitch complied although still reluctant.
