I ran towards the soldiers going to surrender and from there escape and assassinate the two Kings, without the leaders its checkmate for both countries even if they have all the pieces in the board.

But things took another unexpected turn as I was stopped by an old friend.

"So your still alive"

I said as I gave Pent a hug, men style with tightened body and two awkward pats in the back.

"I ain't dying before I slap that idiot Freya for framing us"

"Hoho watch your mouth before accusing me you fool!"

From ahead of us was Freya with a group of bandits behind her. Ok is it just me or is everyone suddenly popping up? This is really giving me an uneasy vibe like the author is running out of ideas!

"Perfect"

Pent smirked as he unleashed a burst of his magic that reminded me of Winchester's lightning bolt.

" Stop she did nothing wrong!"

Surprise surpise Viollette arrived. What the hell is this a reunion chapter? If Fallow suddenly pops up I'm literally going to kill myself.

"I can explain, I brought both of you here. Red needs help and -"

"Stop acting high and mighty, I know you helped Barron in controlling me,but don't worry I'll still save all of you bu under my own terms"

She started to tear up but I just kept walking.

"Pent, Freya will you help me right some wrongs?"

"Sure but don't be an asshole, Terri was the one who brought us here"

"Very well my army shall help in preventing the war that my letting you free may have caused"

Damn way to put the blame on me Freya and Pent also looked pissed but understood it wasn't the time so he cooperated and followed me as I approached the Sandeith soldiers who hunts me down as revenge for killing Winchester so disgracefully.

Instead though the army pursuing me was Euphilian knights as hordes of them were chaotically attacking everything they saw. Despite my efforts to prevent it war still broke out.

Angrily about everything I decided to release my anger towards the knights who without Pent and Freya's help would have overwhelmed me but with an army of bandits by my side we were victorious.

After the massacre we decided to have to reform in the woods where we set camp and planned upon the next move.

Neither Barron nor Prince reached our camp which alarmed me somewhat but even more so was the people in my side. Other than Pent who was a genius in magic most of my allies were weak in magic or just decided to not use it as a sign of brute strength which was a problem on its own but even more was the fact that they are bandits.

They followed Freya due to a debt of gratitude, which they will easily let go for a chance pillaging villages in the chaos and taking slaves out of the victims. Freya chose to pretend she couldn't hear anything and Pent was just buried in thought.

I've not noticed it earlier but something was off about Pent, no longer was he this calm and arrogant smug but now he was like a different person, a traumatised one.

"Pent almost lost his family here"

Viollette said as she moved near me.

I chose to ignore her because I still needed time to forgive her for controlling me even if it were for a noble reason.

"When you were captured, Pent fought back and was overwhelmed by the knights who were about to kill him but his father stopped them and took him home, he escaped just in time to see you about to die in the plaza and during that time some soldiers attacked his home and now his father is on the verge of death, something clicked in him during that time"

"listen Red, Pent is afraid for the first time in his life, he can finally see the value of life. I don't think it's good for him to be in this fight"

"Your right, this is my fight now ever since your father meddled with my life. Tell Alister to meet tomorrow in the town plaza"

I said that as I stood up and went where the bandits were gathering and spoke.

"For those of you who don't know me I am Red Preage, the man who single-handedly killed one of this countries greatest warriors and caused a war that will destroy this continent. Why did I do it? Because of glory, and wealth! And I'm not going to sit here and wait while the warzone I've created is being enjoyed by someone else"

All of those listening where surprised by my lies even more for the people who know the truth like Pent and Viollette but many believed it. See lies concealed by the truth will always have more believers than the actual dissapointing truth and these bandits wanted to believe that I am some powerful man who can lead them to a wealthy life and so I'll use that.

"For those who will follow me I promise you all the money, women, and respect but only if you fight! We will destroy everything that comes in our way and when it is over we will spit in their massacred bodies as we steal everything from our enemies! "

Some cheered in support and followed me as I walked away but some stayed with Freya who was shocked hearing everything I said and she was going to stop me but I just walked away ignoring her and all my friends who tried to make me see reason.

I had taken away the greedy and insane in her group she should be fine and as for Pent he can go back to his home while he still has one. I am coming after the people who destroyed who I am starting with the corrupted kings and then next the mastermind who thought I was just some puppet who he can control and just throw away.

I am furious! I was toyed with and underestimated all my life! I'm no longer listening to anyone. I create my own destiny not this time travelling bitch nor my coward friends.
