Chapter 11: Gleaming blood

Well…

No one is taking it.

Are my demands too strict?

Is it too much to ask for good sleep?

Is it too much to have peace during travel?

Is it too much to ask for a piece of quiet?

I think I should take a stroll in another city then.

And I rewrite my post another line:

_

Going away for 2 weeks. Even if you want to accept this, please go for another quest in the meantime

_

Well, time to move to Galimas.

Locking doors, done.

Goats, fine

Provision, a bit excess

****

Nothing beats quiet and peacefulness

Hopefully, there will be new things at Galimas.

****

I want to question one or two things about this town.

Why does it give me Deja vu?

Second, Isn't this town a bit empty than Nakitel?

I must investigate for my own curiosity

****

This is a bit strange.

Isn't a tavern supposed to be chaotic and rowdy?

But this one is…

Why?

People are just being elegant, almost like elves.

Unlike that weird elf.

Let's ask for a drink.

"Host, give me your strongest ale please." As I raise my hand.

Why people gasp?

Isn't this called a tavern?

"Mister, we don't serve alcohol here. Only tea or milk." The host is washing cups

"Fine, what tea do you have around here?" As I glance surrounding

"Rosemary, peppermint, daisy or maybe orange peel." He calmly takes spoon to clean

"I would like peppermint" I shrug

"Wait for a moment." As he turns and takes a cup for me.

Maybe this is just a big stall that looks like a tavern.

****

Strange, while I am looking for lodging, I have a feeling of getting stalked.

Unlike Kiltan's incident, there are about six people.

I don't know who but I know, there are six pairs of eyes glaring at me.

Should I lure them out and cleave em up?

Or torture them slowly and end their life painfully?

Destroying their world is easy but watching their world slowly fade away and bleed out is more enjoyable

****

I am now outside town wandering in the woods, but I confirmed that there are two stalkers right behind me and they must think that I am just another normal merchant. As soon as I noticed their presence I pretended that I am looking for herbs.

No witness around here so killing those two should be easy without relying on my sand power.

But it would be more entertaining when I play with them first.

" SO, YOU TWO HAVE SOME BUSINESS WITH ME?" I ask them, while already knowing their answer.

" He he he, you seem to have a lot of money. How about I lighten up for you?" One of them says.

"This merchant is very vulnerable in this quiet woods." The other adds while trying to scare me.

"Seriously? This is my 42nd time this year alone. I have been tailed after just because I … brought too much money?" As I found out the true reason after all the road robberies

" HA HA HA! You must be really rich. This time, you should die and puke all the money you have." They both say while pulling their weapons out.

One of them is holding a knife while the other one has a hook. I think that I can use my knife to kill them both but I have a new strategy I wanted to test out first.

Swooosh! The sleeping potion come rushing towards them. Now both of them are on the ground, knocked out cold.

Haizzzz! Luckily, there are some strong vines nearby so I don't have to worry about finding a rope when tying them up.

**

Both of them start to regain consciousness and slowly open their eyes.

" So you are both awake?" I ask while pointing my knife at them.

The bandits who were dumbfounded could only ask " What happened?"

" I don't know either. A sleeping potion?" Both of them suspect.

-"That is right. For my own enjoyment, Shall I begin with your finger or your tongue?" I ask both of them with a smile and their faces turn pale and they both start begging for forgiveness.

"Hmmh? I think I heard finger. Well then, finger by finger." I pretend to not hear their apology and start to slowly cut one of their fingers.

Both of them start screaming in agony while begging me to stop.

When a few of their fingers were gone, I stop what I was doing and return my knife in my pocket.

"You know, I could have killed you easily with a swift knife. But I am being stressed by the fact that people after my wealth. So maybe, you two can live and tell the rumor of a mad merchant that would torture people. Fate is worse than death." I warn

" I will do as you say." Both of them nod in approval.

I release the both of them and they run away as fast as they can. Maybe this is the first time that they see a thing worse than eldritch.

Another caution I took was changing my face to a kind-hearted merchant that I knew before. I change my face back to normal.

I am glad that they will tell only the rumor of an angel face sadist merchant. And so, many bandits will avoid kind face merchants and aim for others. But at least, I am safe from being harassed by those bandits.

****

I wonder why the other went?

Either they lost track of me

Or just meh, not worth their time.

I am strolling around the market alone.

This time, my wagon is empty to buy some exotic items so I wouldn't mind buying a lot.

Two gold, three silver and some copper coins.

Hmmmm, should I buy this strange kind of weapon?

It looks like some kind of shortened thunderstick.

"Hey sir, are you interested in a ?" As he notices my stare

" I am not interested in brawling or fighting" I wave my hand in disagreement

" I see you are from a remote area. is not what you think of. This is a new type of gun. This came a year ago so I wouldn't be surprised that many remote areas residents haven't seen this model." He points this gun

"Is this powerful?" As I glare him

"To be blunt, power doesn't matter if you aren't quick to draw your weapon nor comfortable with the weight of a ." He shrugs

"What is a [windbreaker]?" I innocently lean my head one side

"Where do you come from? Loreahor?" He bursts his laughter

" I have stayed in Nakitel for almost ten years. I have only so far been trading weapons and tools from desert to that town a lot. I haven't heard about nor " I honestly tell my story.

" is our company's prideful prototype. The accuracy of it can help marksmans hit a strand of hair a thosamase away." He smirks

"How long has your company operated?" My curiosity

"Five years."

"Are there any other guns that I can take a look at?" I look around his stand

" Nope, we pretty much dominate the market of guns from three years ago. Before I work for this company, I was an average gun merchant that would buy from small companies and most of them were either low quality or too expensive for civil use." He sighs

"What is your company's name?"

"Wylk and Ervis company."

"I will buy this then."

"A gold coin."

"Can I have a discount?"

"How about you give me that old gun?" he points at my thunderstick

"Sorry, this one I can't give you. It is a gift from my father. It was made by dwarves"

"A thunderstick?"

"Yeah."

" I guess I can't give you a discount. One gold coin is one gold coin then."

" Fine."

A shouldn't be bad if I take this and test elsewhere before I put this on my belt.

Come to think of it, I should buy some strange and non perishable food for those elves.
