SURVIVAL, PART 3: Love and War!

As the next day came, the shock diminished. We started to get used to being in the forest, to the fear. We woke up a little later than the previous day, at around 8:30am this time. When I woke up, a bit earlier than the others, I realised that my head was still on Jace’s chest. So I lifted up slowly, in a vain attempt not to wake him, and felt him grab my hand, stopping me from moving away.

Jace - Is there a problem?

Me - It’s morning already. We’re waking up and getting ready to move.

“Wake up sweetie. We got to go.” He whispered to Aayat, as gently as he possibly could. The more I looked at him and his behaviour with his sister, the more I admired him. He had that father figure with her. He took care of her as if she was his own child, but to him she was more than that.
