When our normal adolescent lives are destroyed by a sudden war, we are forced to run and question everything we ever took for granted. Underestimating the part we are to play in this battle, how well can we survive the challenges we are about to face?

What to do with this impossible choice? 


I decided to give Jace a second chance, hoping that I was doing the right thing. I nodded at Chris, signalling him to free Jace, and going forward to help him. I was secretly hoping that I was not making a mistake, because if I was, I would be putting our whole family in danger. 


I could somehow understand what he did ; lying to us to survive. During the past few days we had all done terrible things to survive. Jace only lied, we killed people. We had become murderers, thieves. How could I not forgive him for becoming a liar, when I had become so much worse? 


As I helped untying Jace’s hands, I felt his body weight crushing him to the ground. His legs couldn’t stand his body anymore and he fell. I tried my best to slow down the fall, but my own weakness prevented me from holding him.
