Xariya's Point of View

It has been days since Lucas started staying here and I am still so shock about his identity.

The moment he told us that he's Luke Matteo's brother, older brother to be exact. I do not know what to do. The Matteo's are known on the business industry and to think that Lucas is a Matteo, I seriously do not know how to approach him anymore.

"Xari, you going somewhere?" Nate asked out of the blue. He's outside my room, wearing a black jeans and a gray polo shirt. Is he going out?

"Nope, Pauline's busy, I'll just stay here. How 'bout you?" I asked and sat on my bed.

"Mom and Dad will take me together with them. So bye, cousin. Have fun laying there all day!" He said and I even heard him running downstairs.

So, I'm all alone in my room again so I decided to take a bath.

I stayed in the bathroom for an hour and went out of my room when it is almost lunch to cook our food. I even tripped on the stairs when I only saw Lucas there! He's talking to someone on the phone.

"I'll hang up now..." I heard him saying that when he saw me going me down. I did not gave any meaning to it but I admit, I'm a little confused!

"Uh, where's mom...and dad, too?" I ask and started walking away from him because he's walking towards me too!

"They went out together with Nate's parents..." He answered and I feel like he's just behind me!

I did not speak anymore and just headed to the kitchen to cook but I was surprised when I saw bags full of food on the table.

"I ordered for us." He explained before I could ask. I nodded at him and was about to speak but he spoke again. "Is the food fine with you? I'll order again if you don't like it."

What the actual hell?

Surprise of what he said, I accidentally raised my voice. "These are fine! I'm not picky at all!"

"Let's eat?" He said and I nodded.

We started eating, and I tell you, that was the most awkward lunch I had in my entire life! I shouldn't be feeling this awkward if Lucas is not staring at me. I mean, why would he stare at me? Do I look haggard now? But I just took a bath!

So after that awkward lunch, I immediately leave him there and went out of our house to get him out of my sight for a while. I started walking and stopped when I got to the basketball court here where Nate plays sometimes.

"Beautiful! Wanna have drink with us?" A drunk man called me. I looked at him and saw him together with some men who's both familiar and not to me. They're wearing basketball jerseys and looks like that they just finished playing and just started drinking.

All of them are looking at me now and waiting for an answer. So, I shook my head which means that it's a no.

"Come on, beautiful! Just one shot!" Someone I really don't know shouted. I shook my head once again and did not look at them anymore.

I was busy looking elsewhere when a hand held me and I my eyes widened when I saw Lucas furrowing his brows at me.

"She got a boyfriend?"

"Heck! I was about to make a move!"

I heard some men whispering there, Lucas looked at them so they looked away and started whistling.

"Why did you go here? I was looking for you." Lucas whispered and my mouth opened but I didn't speak. I don't know how to speak.

"Why did you go here, Xariya?" He whispered again while looking at me intently. I looked away so I could speak.

"Uh, I'm feeling uneasy with you around." Wow, Xariya! You're so honest! You deserve a trophy for that!

Lucas chuckled in front of me so I looked at him again.

"Tell me, am I scaring you?" He asked so I hurriedly answered 'no.'

He smiled at that and my face heated when he closed the distance between us so that he could whisper on my ear.

"I don't want you getting uncomfortable with me, so we'll talk and I'll tell you about me. But first, we will go home..."

Nate's Point of View

It's been a week since Lucas stayed in our home and he's Dr. Luke Matteo's brother! What a small world we live in.

He also warned us not to tell Dr. Matteo that he is here and what is happening with his life. Xariya and I just obliged him. I haven't complained and ask questions anymore. Because we agreed that he will only stay with us for two weeks.

"Are you ready?" Lucas asked as he adjusted the sleeves he was wearing, as well as the watch he was wearing, he also adjusted it gently.

He said that he would treat Xariya and me at the restaurant tonight, I did not really agree with his idea because someone is threatening his life. I don't want my cousin and I to be involved in his life's mess.

But Xariya keeps insisting that we should go, and as a good cousin, I agreed.

"Wow. Why are you wearing that." My cousin said laughing when he saw Lucas.

"Why? It's a dinner so---"

"I know, Lucas. But why do you look so formal? It's like you're attending a business meeting." Xariya laughed and turned to me. She looked at me from head to toe and laughed again.

What a crazy woman.

"While look at what Nate is wearing. Shorts and t-shirt partnered with a low-cut shoes." Let me repeat what I said, what a crazy woman.

Lucas looked at me with a frown.

"There's nothing wrong with his clothes. Why are you laughing, Xariya?" Lucas said and looked at my cousin again. Xariya became silent so I'm the one laughing now.

"Let's go?" Lucas invited us and turned his back on us.

I walked over and whispered to Xariya who looks like a puppy being thrown out by his master.

"Burned, roasted and grilled." I whispered and smirked then started walking out, Xari walked together with me but she's still silent.

When we came out of the gate, we were surprised because there's a new parked there.

"Son of a dog! Who owns that?" I asked in shock.

And because I love to search about cars I know what model it is. It is among the top 5 luxury cars in the world.

"Maybe from our neighbor?" Xariya said who's shock too.

"It's a Porsche Panamera and it's mine." Lucas answered seriously and opened the car door and motioned for Xariya and me to enter.

I saw Xariya staring. Even I was stunned as well.

I really wonder about Lucas here, because the clothes he wears do not come from us. He has not brought anything since he came here.

He also did not leave the house, he only leave now. So how the hell did he bought a car? Or all his belongings fall from the sky?

"Xariya, sit in the backseat. I be next to Lucas so that when someone wants to shoot him again you can hide immediately." I whispered to Xariya before we got into the car.

But I'm silently that no one would follow us. I still do not want to die and this car will be wasted if it got hot. Xariya followed what I said and Lucas started driving.

While on the road, Lucas' story is about what he does at home when Xariya and I are not there. He said he learned how to fry a fish because Xari's mom taught him and he now also knows how to chop garlic and onion properly.

I was just silent. Does he not know about chores?

Xariya, on the other hand, listens carefully to what Lucas is saying and responds as well. I want to speak to but my mind is not on the right state because I'm riding in this car!

I am also quiet Lucas speaks English so deeply. I don't want my brain to get drained so staying silent is the best option.

At about eight in the evening, we arrived at the place Lucas says. A restaurant inside the ship, a massive ship.

"Won't that sink?" Xariya asked so Lucas laughed at her.

"That doesn't work, you idiot." I said and she hit me but I was too focus on the ship so I did not mind her tantrums.

The ship was quite far from the shore so we still had to walk on a floating bridge before getting there. The construction of the bridge is good because you can't feel the waves of the sea, it's just like I'm walking on the ground.

When we went inside I almost wanted to go home because of what I was wearing. Everyone there is in formal attire!

While I am only wearing a plain shirt.

Xariya laughed as she wore a dress and sandals so she was a little more appropriate here in the area.

"Just tell the people that you'll swim after you eat, so that's what you're wearing." Xariya whispered teasingly. I was about to answer when a waiter approached us.

"This way, Mr. Matteo." The waiter said. Lucas nodded and followed so Xariya and I just followed him too.

I didn't know that Lucas is known here?

Every people there was staring at the three of us. At first I thought they were looking at me because of what I was wearing so I was really a little embarrassed.

But no, they're looking at us because of Lucas.
