Chapter 44: Letter

Tia Cecil slept in my room. She cried so hard ‘til she fell asleep beside me. I don’t know how to comfort her, instead, I hugged her tight while brushing her hair.

She’s been with them since then and I understand why she didn’t accept their deaths. Well, yes. I am sad about their sudden demise; they watched me grow and were with them through ups and down. However, how does it feel when you lose someone… someone you’re close with and who protects you with their life. They risked their lives and died because of you.

How should I express that? Would I be grateful, thankful, and delighted that I am alive? Miserable because they offer their life to you? Regret because they died because of you or should I be furious because they perished for you?

I closed my eyes tightly and pressed my hands hard to cover my face. My breath fastened as I felt my lips tremble. Sweats fell to my neck and chest. I, then, covered my mouth as I heard myself sobbing.
