Chapter 43: Completely

Carriages lined up to the entrance of the high golden gates of Hidalgo’s Palace. The sound of the rough steps of the horses and wheels filled my ears. Even though we are still on the outside, everyone is already lively for the ball.

The guests were introduced respectively when we went inside the palace. Some I knew back at the academy were here, I shall greet them later. I hope we’re still cool.

The interior has a touch of rococo and that’s why the ambiance of each hallway is dynamic and whimsical. No wonder why everyone was so thrilled to come here. I also heard that the duke likes to hold parties.

“Lady Jasmine Hutton, the Countess of Camriel.” A baritone voice declared my arrival.

I saw everyone looking at my arrival. My lips curved a little as if I was calm even though I almost panicked because they went silent when they heard my name. I quaffed my saliva as they start to talk, but I still maintain my friendly face.
