Life was normal again. Well as normal as it could be when you're fighting the government.
People who got rescued from the military base went back to their schools and jobs. They all had a doctor's note for their absence. No one needed to know the doctor was a 17-year-old, he had saved more lives than the real ones anyway.
The races were back up and running again. People were betting on the winners. Both at the races and duels they had in the impossible rooms.
Everything was back to normal, except for Daniel's nightmares.
Thomas had lost count of times he woke up to him crying, or having a full-on panic attack.
Walter said it was normal and Thomas believed him. He knew every time he healed people he would absorb their trauma. He had pleaded with him countless times to tell him what happened in that goddam base, but Walter refused to tell him with an "It's not my memory to share."
God knew how much he hated him sometimes.
