CHAPTER TEN: She's mad

No commotion happened again as we traveled and continued our journey to the black land- the land of the denim.

When we arrived, it was still okay. Maybe because we’re still on the entrance part and as I walked deeper I can feel that there is something that watching us. I won’t warn them because they may seem prepared. Also, I still can’t forget what he said. Damn it!

I stopped and held my older brother Meilin’s head and I bowed it by force. I smiled when I heard the screams and the swear of our companions. They got hit, I guess?

“Damn it! why didn’t you tell us?” Said the one who held my arms and he really was annoyed by that. I just ignored them because they have a healer. Why would I waste my time with them?

Why should I tell them? If they were alert, it would not have happened to them. Tsk, what kind of class S are they? Let alone the flaws in their fighting skills even their senses are not working? The heck? Are they insulting a class S?

“You should have warned them too.” Said older brother Meilin as he sat on a tree root waiting for those bunch of weaklings to be healed.

“I don’t want to. Serves them right.” I said for them to hear it. I guess they really heard what I said. They reacted anyway.

“What?! We don’t deserve this!” the woman shouted. This one is now near to get into my nerve.

I don’t know why but I really do hate this girl.

Why would I tell them about that surprised attack? They should have used their senses to block it or to dodge it. Also, why would I care for them? I have no business with them.

“Is it my fault that you don’t use your senses, right? Is it my fault that you were too weak for this mission? Tell me, is it my fault that you have the ability to block nor dodge it but you used to welcome it with an open arm? Why are you in class S, by the way?” I asked sarcastically.

They’re getting on my never. They are a shame of class S! They’re too weak!

“Not because you are strong-“

I didn’t let him finish his statement and cut him off, “I don’t care if I’m strong or not, powerful or not. You should have used your senses to avoid it. All I want is a peaceful life, that is why you must shut your god damn mouth, low-leveled Lancaster.” I seriously said.

Even if I don’t want to insult them, I still can’t do anything to my mouth. It really attacks people I hated. I also don’t want to let them see my soft side and by that at least I did what my sister wants. Help the class S to get stronger. I just remind them that they need to use their senses always. After all, these senses will help them on a battlefield in the future. They should just appreciate what I did instead of nagging. It hurts my ears.

When they finished healing, we immediately continued our journey. I didn’t talk while walking and I will talk only if big brother Meilin will ask me or want to get my opinion about the mission. All in all, I’m quite right now. I am not in a mood.

“Why didn’t you warn them?” my older brother Meilin asked me and I didn’t look at him. I just looked straight ahead.

What are they in my life to warn them? Are they part of it? they’re not, right?

I wanted to tell him that but I just said, “Because they need to. They should have not lost their focus. I am just giving them a pointer. Teaching them without them knowing. Their ability should be polished because I can feel that in the future, they can help this world. Their ability should be equal with their responsibility.”

“Ow, has the old Abia returned?” he teasingly asked me and put his arms around my shoulders. “Are you back from us now?”

“Stop it! the former Abia is gone.” I said angrily and glared at him. He removes his arm at my shoulders and I continued, “And she will never come back.” I added and walks ahead.

I don’t know but I do not want to bring that old self of mine. She used to be weak, she can’t even kill an ant. I don’t want to go back to the old me. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone once again that I can’t even do something when they’re hurt. I always strive to become strong, stronger than the other day. Stronger than anyone else.

“Be careful, we’re here.” Said by older brother Meilin and we entered the deepest part of the forest- the black land.

This land is already occupied by denim and even though this world is for the good people there still some who want to dominate the others and that is why they become denim. Like the people in Demonioum World who are pure evil and cruel people, I still believe that a kind-hearted person is living there.

No one has ever been in the Demonioum World because for us it’s a scary and very dangerous place and all we can hear from that world is a rumor. A rumor about how cruel that world is and how evil the people living there.

I feel uneasy when our journey in the land of denim is smooth and no one is fighting us so I expand my senses and looked at the surrounding.

“This is suspicious. Why are we not meeting a single one?” the bratty woman said.

That is because they are around us, they are expecting us and they are already just waiting for the right moment to attack us. I know that both I and elder brother Meilin felt the same and he also felt some disappointments in class S. they still didn’t get what I pointed them earlier. That is bad for them.

If I were them, I should have enhanced my senses before getting ready for the battle. They’re going to die early on the battlefield with that preparation.

“It’s because they’re just around the corner,” I said and then summoned my double sword.

As soon as my two swords came out, the monster immediately jumped at me. Yes, monster. I don’t know how they become like this. They have very gray rotten skin, deep and dark crimson red eyes. They looked like dead people.

Normal people are not aware of this kind of monster that is used by denim. Only those who are in power knew about this. Why they did not publicize it? because it will cause a great panic to everyone.

The monster jumped right in front of me and I immediately thrust my left sword into his chest. I even saw the shocked face of my companions; I have no intention of explaining everything to them but they’re annoying the hell out of me by just standing and doing nothing. Do they want to die?

These monsters were used to be human beings but due to something they are no longer a human. That something who took their human mind is controlling them. I jumped high and a monster followed me and I kicked him in his forehead and at the same time he fell on the ground so hard that all his bones were dislocated, then I cut off his head.

Not so many monsters welcomed us so it’s not too tiring. What makes me tired the most is watching those class Swatching me and older brother Meilin fighting this monster. They’re a pain in the ass.

I looked at them like they’re an ant- no, lower than an ant.

“What now? If you have nothing to help us in this mission then go back to the academy. Stop being a burden to us.” I said without any emotion. I know that elder brother Meilin won’t stop me because even him, he’s disappointed with this group of class S. “You were chosen to be included in this mission but that what all you can do? To be surprised to the point that you can’t fight back? What a pity, I asked you four once again, can you really call yourself a class S student? You got to be kidding me if you answered me yes.” I mockingly said and then smirk at them, “You all will die early on the battlefield if you continue what you did right now.”

I know that my words hurt them but I can do nothing about it. They have to face their reality and sugar coating is not my forte.

“But they are human!” the healer shouted while crying and hugging the bratty girl.

It made me laugh.

Does this woman know what she’s saying? If yes, then she really is a crazy one.

“What’s funny? You killed them and you can still laugh? Are you not on your mind?” the Lancaster boy said.

I laughed even more, “Human? Those monsters are human in your eyes?” and I laughed so hard, “You guys are the craziest person I’ve ever met.” The smile on my face earlier was replaced by mocking and seriousness. “They are not human anymore! This is the real world, welcome to hell! This is what happened now outside the Lancaster clan- outside the academy. This is the consequences of taika- a bloody war against those monsters!” I exclaimed at them and continued, “They are not human anymore! Look at them are they still human? They are dead both heart and soul! They’re just a puppet!” I said annoyed. I looked at elder brother Meilin who pat my left shoulder and I stopped talking and walks away from them but it was not too far, I still can hear their conversation.

If I don’t keep myself quiet, I might end up saying something bad. I should have not let my emotions took over my body.

“Abia is right. They’re no longer a human. The denim are the ones who controlled their bodies, they don’t have brains now- it's already not working.” Older brother Meilin explained, “If you want to know the truth behind this, you can ask me after this mission. Make sure that you’ll do your work flawlessly. You need to prepare yourself for this soon. Your group will replace us in this mission or even more dangerous than this. Be ready.”

When we finally on citadel shrine.

“I think they’re all gone.”

To my great annoyance at their reactions, I can’t resist myself to blame them for all the flaws that I saw in them. I am mad at them and ready to give them a beating but this low-level Lancaster stopped me so I glared at him.

“This is all your group’s fault! If you were not weak, I would have rescued my sister! Even I can’t rescue her I should have at least got a clue! I would have not lost him! I wanted to kill him and your group! You should not be a class S student!” I shouted at them.

I know that blaming them is not the right thing to do right now, I also know that they’re not the ones I should blame on but I can’t avoid it. I glared at them and they can’t even meet my eye. What a bunch of weaklings.

“That’s enough, Abia.” I heard elder brother Meilin said and I looked at him, “I’ll take you again next time. Next time we will finally be able to save your sister.” He added with sincerity in his eyes.

We went back to the academy. The four-member of class S’ battle suit was all damaged. Meanwhile, the battle suit of elder brother Meilin and my battle suit was perfectly fine. The students can see how weak those people in class S right now.

“Can you teach us?” they said in unison and my brow furrowed.

“No. I don’t have any intention to be your teacher.” I said and I left.
