CHAPTER ELEVEN: Cephenrene Gwethana Linovahle

Days passed, those class S students never failed to visit me every day, they even went to my classroom and always talked to me like we’re close. As if I would pay them any attention. They won’t give up no matter what I do to them.

“Those class S students don’t get tired of talking to you,” Jenny said to me.

I said that I won’t let anyone be my friend, not even a single person, but I guess Jenny is an exception. She knows how hard my life is, how hard I’m going through these past few days. She’s the only one who doesn’t feel sorry for me that is why I let her on my side. Also, one of the reasons why I don’t want to be friends with everyone because once they know my hardship, they will feel sorry and I don’t like that. I also don’t want them to get involved in my troubles but this woman is the one who insisted to be with me through thick and thin so I let her face the trouble with me.

“Let them be.” I lazily said because I don’t feel like answering.

But even though I was talking to her politely I and I made an exception to her it does not mean that I allowed her to be my friend.

“Do you not feel tired at all? I mean, looked we always saw them whenever we are.” He said while arranging the books that we read here in the library.

As if she’s not like that.

“They’re the ones who will get tired, not me.” I said and closed the book that I am holding, “I don’t really care, they’re weak after all. If only you saw how weak they are during our mission.” I added.

“Weak?” she asked curiously. “But no one can beat them here at school. They’re the most powerful being here.” She added.

“Not until I came.” I said then stood up, “I’m going to take a rest. They pester me all day and I want to be alone now.” I said with a gloomy face and she laughed at me then I just ignored her and left.

“Avalene!” I didn’t look back because I knew who shouted my name. “Avalene!” she cried once again and blocked my way and make a cute face. I just passed her and ignore her.

It will not work on me, no matter how much they tried to act cute they will not be able to get close to me. Why would I feel sorry for them? We’re not close to each other anyway.

The low-level Lancaster called me, “Avalene.” And the other man grabbed me at my arm so I stopped walking.

What the heck?

“You must train us.” He said I guess his name is Albin. I just stared at him with my cold eye.

“Why would I?”

They’re very demanding and I hate it. I already told them that I won’t teach them but they will pester me all day long. They’re looked like a dog.

“Because-“

“Because your group is weak and I alone am strong? Is that it? strong isn’t only about physical and taika abilities, do you know that?” I said and then walked away. I have no intention of teaching them so why are they so stubborn?

“You have to train us, Avalene. No matter what it cost.” Albin said and I can feel his aura.

Is he threatening me?

“Such a group of the apathetic jerk and brat bitches. Is there no more pride left in your body? I guess, there is none already. How many times do I have to tell you all that I have no intention of teaching your group? I don’t care about you nor everyone in your group. I don’t want to waste my time on weak people like you.” I crossed my arms and said, “Can you please stop following me like a dog all day? It’s annoying.” I sarcastically added.

“I will make sure that you will change your mind. You will teach us.” He said loudly while looking into my eye.

Is he above me? Is he crazy? I raised an eyebrow at him and said, “If I said I won’t, then I won’t. No matter what you’ll do I will never teach you.” I said and I violently remove his hands from my arms. “I don’t need to help you at all.” I looked at him in his eyes using my only one eye. “I will gain nothing from teaching you all.” And by that, I turned around and left. He’s talking while I am walking but I ignore him.

“Then if you help us to be strong, we will help you to get your sister back.” I stopped walking but did not look back.

“As if. In my first mission with your group, I already know how weak you are. So, how are you going to help me? I said without looking at them and then walked away.

I know that my words hurt them so bad. They never showed their pride in front of me yet I just insulted them. I will do everything as long as they don’t get attached to me. If they can’t find the problem with my words then they’re not just weak in terms of power and physical abilities but also in mental ability.

Their offer was quite tempting but I did not let them sway my decision. When I think about them helping me in my search for my sister, it seems possible in my dream or their dream but not in reality. How they can help me if they’re too weak? Tsk. Their offer made me sick. I mean, I give them a second thought, that is so unlike me. I just sighed and then stared at the ceiling.

“Can they really help me?” I asked myself, “Maybe not, they’re weak after all. Still, if I teach them, they can be strong to the point that no one can beat them aside from me.” I shrugged my head, “No, I still don’t want to be with them and I don’t want to teach them. They’re just a bunch of pathetic jerks and bratty bitches that know nothing but to enjoy the luxurious life.”

I raised my right hand and then stared at it. I may be powerful but when it comes to that denim, I am quite powerless. For them, I am just one of those bunch of bran, I am nothing and can compare to those members of class S.

“My, oh my, Avalene Abia Lancaster needs my opinion?” She said to me as soon as I appeared in front of her. I just arrived and this lady immediately mention it?

I sat in a chair in front of her then she gave me a rose tea and cookies. I smiled at her and then she does the same thing,

“I’m just kind of confused that is why I need your opinion. You know that I don’t want to get attached to everyone here,” I told her, and then I closed my eyes and smelled the rose tea that she gave me. “Hmm, it smells so good,” I added.

“Well, thanks for the compliment first.” She said with a smile, “Then, about the opinion. I don’t think it’s a bad idea.” I stared at her, waiting for her to continue, “They can help you to save Acacia when you help them to become strong. It’s a give and takes situation for both parties. Both of the parties will benefit.” He said and looked at me, “Also, you will just help them to get strong. You won't even let them enter and have a place in your life.” She added, “They can be useful when you help them, they can help you back. It’s a win-win situation.” He said and then I lowered my eyes and stared at my reflection in the tea that I am drinking.

“Maybe you’re right at the same time wrong.”

“It’s because you’re afraid, Abia.” I looked at her and she sipped her tea, “You’re scared that they might end up getting close to you. That when something bad happens to them you will blame yourself, as always, Abia.”

“As if I will let them be my friend.”

“Even if you won’t say it, it will eventually happen without you noticing it. like what happened to that girl, named Jenny. You don’t want her to get close to you, right? That you even swore that you won’t get attached to her but look what happened right now? Without you knowing she already had a place in your heart, even you won’t say it, you consider her as your friend.”

“Stop joking around Cephenrene Gwethana Linovahle.” I looked at her without any emotion, “Nonsense words are coming out from your mouth.”

“My, oh my, did I make you mad? Well then, Avalene Abia Lancaster you know that I am not fond of sugar coating so if it offends you then, my apologies. But what I’ve said is merely the truth. Also, you’re here asking for my opinion so bear with it.” we stared at each other eyes, and then I am the one who loses.

“Nonsense.”

“Don’t even ask me for my opinion if you can’t even accept it.” I just rolled my eyes and finished my tea.

“I’m done.” And I vanish in front of her.

“Hey!” Jenny called me but I just ignore her, did she really get close to me? “Why did you suddenly become cold again? Did something happen to you?”

“None, nothing happened, now get out of my way,” I said, and then she just sighed and then did not blocked my way.

“I guess I need to give you some space for your own. Still, I am here when you need me,” she said with a smile and waves her hands, and walks on a different path.

As if I’ll do that. Why would I need her? Anyway, I don’t need her. But, how can she smile even I said something that hurt her?

“Did you hear?”

“Hear what?”

“That one of the Lancaster is going to punished!”

“What? Who?”

“I guess it’s Hyokin. He’s in class S and yet those Elders of his damn clan never recognize his achievement. So, the elder of the Lancaster family decides to kill him!”

My brow furrowed. Kill him, huh. What a waste. Wait, did I say that? Yeah, right, I admit it he’s a waste if they just kill him. Those elders really can do nothing good. They’re acting on their own like they owned the whole clan. I should be the one who handles this kind of decision, not them. What do they think of me? I’m still alive and they want to punish those who still need a trial? Even if I don’t want to see them, I guess I can give that Lancaster a helping hand.

“They say that only a high-ranking Lancaster can give such punishment and the Elders of the clan had no power to do it but how did this happen? I think something is happening in their family, they’re really a terrifying force. It terrifies me.”
