Chapter 30

I walked into the eating quarters with one thought and one thought only. To leave. My eyes lingered over the crowd as they quietened down with each step I take to the center table.

My heart beat fast, and with this new attention, my palms began to sweat. I stood on the table and waited for a moment to collect my thoughts.

I took a deep breath, "I know I'm young." I paused trying to figure out what I'm going to say. "Some might say too young and some might say not old enough. But all I know is that we can't stay here any longer. Because of James, he lead our enemy to us. I'm not saying to follow me or anything. I'm just saying we have to go if we want to survive."

My words come out strong and confident, but I'm scared shitless. I've never had this much attention on me all at once. If father was here, they wouldn't look at me with questions in their eyes.
