Chapter Sixty_Two: Be the Judge (Part Two)

Aria had never been to prison in her life, never seen on the inside nor even attempted to go to the police station. Knowing that all it did was bring back her fears, fears that had been caused by her father when he had become too violent for her to salvage and too violent to easily control. Always being the one to harm anyone that came in his way and didn't let him do as he desired.

He had always been the one to have the last word and if he wasn't he would make sure that he was, not caring about what others had to say about it or about him. He knew that everyone who knew him feared him and those that had only seen him avoided him. Making him someone that was always unapproachable.

Yet for some reason, her mother had come to love him, loving the cracks and imperfections even though the world held up a big red burning sign that read, 'don't'. My mother had always been one to never judge and she had raised Aria to always be a child who saw the good in bad even though all of that had come to change as she grew.

Watching her father turn into a monster that not even animations could create, a new character in life that should have been related to Lucifer. Probably a distant cousin, yet as time had gone out and everything had worsened. Aria had become a child who was once filled with excitement, to one who was more cautious, having come to learn easily that anyone and everyone could easily change.

And when her father had left, she hadn't rejoiced, she had watched over her shoulder and her mothers. Constantly waiting for him to surprise them and hurt them even more. Yet Aria wasn't worried about her own safety, she was worried about her mother, who mother who was more fragile and delicate. Her mother was more open and willing. Her mother was rarely cautious and that had turned Aria into a child who was more cautious about everything that came and went.

Waiting for the danger to approach her as though an angel, with pretty white gloves but inside where sweaty hands of one that tried their hardest to bring her down. Trying to make sure she didn't see past their façade but she always could and that always worried her mother. 'If you don't chase danger why must danger appear her?' her mother had once asked when she and Aria had first gone out after years of keeping to their selves. 'Because danger appears more when you are mainly at peace with yourself, waiting to test your patience and virtue.' She had responded before turning back to look at everyone, yet leaving her mother worried that she could have possibly damaged her child.

Yet at this moment, Aria had felt as though she was the one that had chased danger and it upset her to think that this was about to be her life. Walking in the gateway of the prison gates, watching the prisoner be tortured, lined up, fed, and dragged back to pain. Not allowing them to even catch a break.

'Everything in this part of the realm, brings out the darkest of one, making them question their hope and faith. Constantly making them question everything that they knew but never allowing them to find the exit of this place. their eyes are blocked from seeing the exit, yet the funny thing is, if they confess and admit what they've done with true remorse, their eyes could be opened and they could leave.' Quin said to her as they walked toward the gates.

'How is one judged in here?' Aria asked as she made sure to stick close to Quin, not wanting to be hurt or dragged by the prisoners. She had seen many stories about how some prisoners tried to take a chance by killing or taking hostage of wardens. In this case, she was dressed in heels and seemed more of a flirt, only their wardens knew how long the prisoners had been without a woman.

'Easily, you are put in a trance and then we see everything, all your darkest deeds, and memories. Everything that reveals your downfall and how you ended up here. We have a member from each realm running this place, one for hope to see if there was actually a reason for their actions, one to see if the person was put in a trance that leads to their actions, one to see where they were from and if they were sent from a royal member and then one to read their darkest desires. A judgment usually takes time but we do the best we can, making sure no one gets punished for something they have never done.' Quin said,

'What If you have done something wrong and wrongfully killed someone?' she questioned, watching the souls scream as punishers seemed to pull a lever that caused the fire to burn them every two minutes, giving them thirty seconds to not feel anything.

'The past rulers used to… and let's just say we still pay for that mistake till this day. King Silver has made sure of that.' Quin whispered, making Aria curious as to what that statement truly meant.
