Chapter 13 Counter attack

Sean moved behind the trees to a distance of 200 meters to the left while changing from night vision goggles to night vision scope in order to snipe the bandits as he knew that the hidden enemies would come to the open field to assassinate him and his brother. Meanwhile Vince the head of the bandits attacked the Callen, while three fourth level Warriors attacked Wendell. Though Callen was having a stalemate the pressure on his subordinates were high as they had to face around 30 bandits while their number was only nine as they started to fall back because of pressure. At this moment three of Vince's subordinates of level four surrounded Wendell. Callen who was already confused of the sudden appearance of the fifth level warrior who was attacking him but when he saw Wendell get surrounded by three level 4 warriors his face turned solemn as he desparately tried to shake off his attacker. He knew that this was an assassination disguised as a bandit attack. However he did not have the luxury to think much as he had to block one of the fierce attack from the level five warrior.

Vince's plan was to attack Callen personally while having three fourth level Warriors to attack Wendell while the last fourth level warrior was to kill Sean who was probably hiding inside the carriage. Wendell was currently struggling against the three warriors who were attacking him. Two of them attacked h from the sides while last one attacked him whenever there was an opening. These three rank four Warriors who came with Vince were ex-mercenaries and were experienced in fighting and had very good teamwork between them. They barely made any effort but already injured Wendell. Just as they tried to make another wound in his shoulder the one who attacked h from his left suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head as his vision darkened. Sean already reached a place where he could get a clear view of the campsite and shot the bandit who was about to injure his brother in the head. The other two bandits and Wendell near him were shocked to see their comrade/enemy fall to death and just as the two bandits were about to shout the one who was on the right had a hole on his left. The third bandit who saw this had danger signal ringing in his head as he turned around to run while trying to shout towards Vince to try and warn him. "Run Vince" said the third bandit and just as he finished saying that and took the first step towards exit, he fell straight on his face as warm blood dyed the soil.

Vince who was fighting Callen noticed the abnormality as he turned towards the direction of where three of his men fought Wendell and when he saw the scene his eyes reduced to the size of pin. This was the distraction which Callen was aiming for as he slashed his shoulder leaving a deep cut effectively reducing his battle ability. Callen too turned to see the situation after he injured the level five warrior whom he though was the head of the bandit group only to see three dead bandits around Wendell and sighed with relief.

At this moment the fourth bandit who did not know the new development reached the carriage ready to move in to kill Sean walker. As the fight between Wendell and the three bandits was a bit away from where other bandits fought the guards he could not hear as it was muffled with the sound of weapons clashing and sound of men scream of injuries. Callen who saw this thought that Sean was still in the carriage ran to stop the bandit from entering the carriage. Vince who saw this escaped to the exit without any thought of rescuing his comrade. The fourth bandit who reached out to pull the cloth covering the entrance of the carriage to enter the carriage suddenly stiffened before his hand even reached the cloth as he fell down sideways with a gaping hole in his temple. Callen who saw this was shocked but quickly regained his composure and turned around to fight the bandit head only to find out him gone. Callen who was planning to go after him hesitated for a moment and decided against it, as his duty was to protect both young masters so he quickly helped in killing the rest of the bandits who didn't stand a chance once both Wendell and Callen joined hands.

Meanwhile Sean who killed four bandits was chasing after the bandit head while once again equipping the night vision goggles to interrogate him. Vince was moving at high speed despite being injured. Though he did not know who killed his former teammates he had no interest in staying behind to find out as that would most probably result in his death. He has enough experience to know when to run. Sean despite being enhanced with gene as well as being a second level warrior and having mastered extreme parkour was only able to keep up with the bandit head. Sean stopped behind a tree where he could take a clear shot at the bandit head. He took a deep breath as he stabilised himself as he saw the image of the man running while jumping over five to six meters every few steps through his scope. Sean aimed at his thighs as he shot him . Vince who was right now jumping over a tree branch felt a massive pain on his thigh of right leg as he fell down. The ground which had rainwater now was red in colour as he looked down to find a gaping hole in his thigh. Despite the pain Vince tried his best to stand as he dragged his body to escape however before he took a few steps he felt someone kick his wound as he fell down. Vince turned his head to find a man wearing a blazer while his face was covered with a mask and his eyes were covered with something which looked like binacular which was connected to a helmet. Vince while making a gutteral sound in pain asked "Who are you?".

"That is something which I have to ask you. You are no ordinary bandit. Your aim was Wendell Walker and Sean walker. Who hired you to kill them" asked Sean while not revealing his identity. "I don't know what you are talking about" said Vince. Sean who had expected this took out an injection filled with white coloured liquid as he brought it towards Vince. "What is this? What are you planning to do" asked Vince, however he got no answer as the liquid was injected in his vein. Vince saw that Sean was watching something which was in his wrist while waiting patiently as if he had no interest in interrogating him or torture him. Soon Vince felt a bit drowsy following which he felt his head get heavy as if someone it was made of lead. Sean who saw this knew that it was the right time as he asked "What is your name?". "Vince" answered the man who whose eyes were blurred and unfocused.

"Who gave you the order to assassinate Wendell and Sean walker" asked Sean. "Vasily family clan head Tom Vasily" said Vince. Sean who heard this wasn't surprised as he knew the rivalry between Walker family and Vasily family. "Who are you to Tom Vasily" asked Sean not knowing the connection between Vasily family's head and Vince who ran a bandit group. "Vasily family sponsored us to run a bandit group in this forest" said Vince and Sean who heard this was speechless but he knew that most rich people will have a foot in underworld and those who claim that they became rich only by conducting fair business are nothing more than a bunch of liars. After hearing this Sean aimed his gun and shot Vince in his head effectively killing him and returned back to the campsite while storing his guns and night vision goggles in the system storage while carrying only a handgun equipped with silencer hidden inside his blazer.
