Reason To Trust

The sound of a single droplet pelting against the surface of the water echoes in the silent room. I blinked my eyes open and glanced to the side of the bathtub as I immediately spotted Orion's arm resting on the edge of the tub.

I had gotten far too comfortable and dozed off for a couple of minutes after the fatigue left my exhausted limbs. It had been a long day, but the worries of the day prior melted away with the warm comfort of the water embracing me.

"You're not going to take this off?" Orion's voice pierced through the still space, bouncing off the walls as it echoed louder than he expected— resulting in an awkward cough.

"Take what off?" I leaned against his chest and lifted my chin upwards to gaze at his face, trying to process what he had meant.

"This. Won't it feel uncomfortable being wet and itchy after being soaked in the bath water for so long?" Orion lightly tugs on the protective choker while I blinked in surprise.
