Damien looked into the mirror that reflected his image.
His pitch-black hair was longer than it should be, looking rather messy. His dark pupils were hidden behind both his hair and his spectacles and though his figure was quite large, it didn't prevent him from seeming meek.
Damien's back was slightly scrunched and when he finished observing his own image through the mirror, his lips curled up in a smirk filled with confidence and satisfaction.
One that you wouldn't have imagined being from the same meek-looking person just seconds prior.
His whole aura changed for that split second before it returned to his meek self as if an illusion.
It couldn't have been easy to look so docile with his height of over 190cm, right? (+_+^)
He adjusted his glasses before turning around with his head hung low, going down his stairs with his luggage which was promptly taken by the butler that was on standby.
There was a short black limousine waiting for him at the entrance of his house. The driver had come out and opened the door while the butler put the luggage in the car.
"Second Young Master," the driver gave him a short bow.
Damien didn't lift his head even once after he left his room directly stepping in the car.
The servants didn't delay anything either as they were already used to their Second Young Master's personality and behaviorism.
The car was driven for around 30 minutes, and Damien had his head buried in his phone the whole time. The driver would glance at the rear-view mirror from time to time until they finally reached their destination.
It was a giant university campus that could be mistaken for the Hogwarts campus, but rather than the hill situation, it was in the middle of the city which made it even more eye-catching.
The walls were a darker beige color while the roofs were a fire brick red.
Damien got off the car and the driver had already gotten his luggage for him.
"You can leave now. I'll go off on my own," Damien said in a soft voice nonchalantly, but not in a domineering way.
He then made his way to the campus without waiting for his chauffer's response. For the first time since he stepped outside his room, he slowly lifted his chin to take in his surroundings.
The anticipation in his eyes was hidden behind layers of protection, but seeing as the chauffeur had yet to leave, he kept up his timid aura that made his presence almost unnoticeable.
He dragged his luggage behind him along with what seemed to be his whole body. Any enthusiasm that would normally be seen within the new students was not present.
He looked as if he had been forced here.
He exuded the feeling of someone that had pulled multiple all-nighters with the help of a table full of caffeine.
He didn't fit in with the energy that was presented at this university, but his presence was also so small that others didn't seem to notice.
As for the chauffeur that had come with the short limo. He wasn't out of place at all, other students didn't even give him a second glance.
After seeing his second young master enter a campus building, he also turned around and entered the car, leaving without delay.
Damien had entered the administration's building and walked up to the front counter.
He passed his ID to the student behind the front counter so that he could get his necessities.
The second-year girl started to search for his information in the database as she spoke.
"You're a Freshman yeah? Then I guess I'm your senior. I'm a second year, gosh, finally not a freshman... Not that it's bad or anything. You'll be fine," she added in awkwardly.
When the second year saw that the freshman she was handling wasn't speaking, she didn't continue with the idle talk.
"Here's your student ID."
"When you go for the school lunch, just use that card for paying purposes. You'll see where you can scan it when the time comes."
"As for your room, it's room 8080, hmm, that's in the third housing building."
Sierra found that room number rather familiar but didn't think too much about it. She had already been there all morning and so all room numbers sounded a little familiar.
"There will be a school-wide assembly at 1 PM that everyone has to attend, at the school theater. If you're not sure where that is, you should take one of those pamphlets. It has the school map on it with labels," saying all that in a single breath, it was clear that she had practiced these words well.
"Oh, if you're going to lose that then just take a picture and put it back," she didn't forget to add.
Damien took a picture of both sides of the pamphlet and put it back as she had told him to.
"Thank you."
"Your welcome," Sierra responded offhandedly before she motioned to her other classmates behind the counter that she was taking a break.
Damien took off to his dorm so that he could leave his luggage there first and rest for a while before going for lunch.
He had no clue about the commotion that had occurred after he left, among the other students that were helping the freshmen that were taking a break as well.
The second years, both male and female, in the break room numbered around a dozen.
They were all talking about the hot guys and cute girls, as well as the cute guys and hot girls that were enrolling in the school this year.
"Hey, Sierra! You on your break right now? Come over here. Any cute guys come in while we were off duty?" A blond girl who was sitting on the couch leaning against another guy asked.
"What do you mean off duty Rebeca? More like slacking off," Sierra rolled her eyes at her collegue.
"But yeah, this guy that I just saw, you guys totally missed out! He seemed a little shy or something, didn't really talk, but he was super tall. Definitely over 180cm, but I was seated so I couldn't tell for sure," she exaggerated a bit, just to incite a little jealously as revenge for making her take the extra shift.
She was still a little sour about that.
Not that what she said was wrong, but Sierra hadn't really gotten a good look at him, to begin with.
Sierra sat down on the armrest of one of the couches closest to the entrance as all other seats were occupied.
There weren't supposed to be so many people in the break room, but since everyone was lazy, they just decided to get more people this year to take care of the job.
"Really? Which department?" The male whose arms were around Rebeca asked.
"Hm, I think it was business management, but I'm not too sure. Too many people around, but he's going to the third housing building."
"Really? Maybe I can go check him out on my way to see the Almighty. I'll notify you guys if he's anything worth looking out for." This came from across the room, a male named Dan. He was talking mainly to his pals. But the girls also couldn't help but giggle.
Hot guy+ young freshman = fewer chances of getting a girlfriend…
The struggle, it was best to scout out the opponent first and determine whether he was a threat at all.
Well, these were all real problems for these hard-working students.
It was also then that Sierra finally recalled what she was trying to figure out.
"I got it. Now I know why his room number sounded so familiar. The new guy is rooming with the Almighty!"
"What the heck? Wasn't the Almighty in a single-person room?"
"No, I just heard that he decided to change to a two-person room last year."
"Really? Why?"
"How should we know?"
"I heard that it was a dare or something."
"Is that even worth calling a dare?"
"But why does this freshman get to room with him, I'm sure loads of other people would love to change rooms."
"Haha, he's going to be in trouble."
"They'll probably start bribing him."
"Will they really? I mean they're all guys. It's probably not that important."
"Well, I think they would do anything to get some of the Almighty's aura. Who wouldn't want to be closer to a God?"
The discussion was getting heated in the break room and everyone was discussing what would happen next.
They were just short of putting down their bets.
As for the topic of their discussion, Damien was still making his way to his room. His head neck deep into his phone, looking for his directions.
It should be mentioned that Damien had a terrible sense of direction.
He looked up again just to see the same tree that he had passed by 5 minutes earlier, or maybe it was a different tree that just looked similar, he really didn't know at this point.
He was about to stare a hole into his phone as he walked when he suddenly stopped. Well, more like he was stopped.
He lightly rubbed his forehead as he had bumped into something really hard. He lifted his head to see another figure looking back at him.
The person in front of Damien could be said to be at the pinnacle of the male specimen when it came to his looks. His hair was a shade of caramel brown and his eyes were a bright hazel that bordered a golden color.
Damien felt like he had seen those bright eyes before, but he couldn't pinpoint where.
He also noticed the peculiar aura around this good-looking man. He looked like a very approachable and friendly person, someone that would make even the quietest of people talk, and even the loudest of people listen.
Yet, something told Damien that he was a dangerous figure.
"Hey! Are you a Freshman? You look lost."
