Chapter Seven

Blueth Mendoza's POV

"Hi, Ms. Val! Found a new house yet?" I asked Ms. Val as I reached the top of the rooftop. It's been a week already since Ms. Val and Cathy lost their house and they have been sleeping on the rooftops ever since.

I told them that they can sleep with us in the meantime, while they have no place to stay. But they say that they don't want to be a bother to us. I kept on insisting, but they don't want to, so I just let them be with their decision.

"Ah, Blueth. Well, no luck yet kiddo. But I feel like today's the day that I find us a new house!" Ms. Val said as she stood up and did some stretches.

"Hello, Cathy." I sat down and gave Cathy scratches. She was just waking up from her sleep.

"Watch the cat while I look for possible scam--- I mean possible house. I'll be back in a bit!" Ms. Val said as she went down the roof and started looking for a new house.

"Ms. Val has been working really hard trying to find a new house to stay in. I should help her find a home."

"Ha! Do you think Val is finding a house for us? You got to be kidding me, she's just making up excuses to scam people. Stop thinking that Val is working hard, you're making a fool of yourself. Now, less talky more scratchy." Cathy said as she walked over and sat on my lap.

"Well scam or not, for me, Ms. Val still works hard! And I know just what to do to make her now that her hard works are not looked over." I said as I stood up, making Cathy fall, she's okay, she didn't get hurt or anything, there's nothing to be worried about. I completely forgot that she was laying on my lap, that was entirely my fault.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"I'm going to go look for a house!"

"Oh no you won't! Val will kill me if anything bad happens to you! So, stay right here and give me scratchies! Please?"

"Awe, Cathy is worried about me. Don't worry your sweet little head, I'll be careful! You can come along if you want, so you don't have to worry about me."

"No way pal! There is no way that I am going with you!"

"Okay, suit yourself, I'm going now. Bye Cathy." I said teasingly as I started walking away slowly.

"Hey! Young lady! Come back here this instant! Don't make me come and get you! Blueth! I'm going to count and you will come back here! 1! 2! 3!"

I went down from the rooftops to go look for possible houses for Ms. Val and Cathy to stay in. I'm afraid that they have no shelter when it rains, I'm not hoping for it to rain or anything, I'm just worried about them.

I searched the whole town for a possible house they can stay in, and I think I just found the perfect one for them. It's a three-story house, one-story bigger than the old house Ms. Val and Cathy had. It's a bit big, but hey, a story bigger than the old house couldn't hurt right?

It's a bit far from where they initially were, and there seem to be no signs of other people living here which means that we won't be having any customers anytime soon. But hey, at least they have a roof over their heads, right? And, it may be a sign that to get customers, we need to move houses. I don't know if that makes any sense but I think it does.

"Right, let's check this place out." I said to myself as I entered the building. It's a bit dark inside, but nothing a little electrician can't fix, and no, I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about getting someone to fix it ones Ms. Val and Cathy move in.

I made my way inside as I pushed away the cobwebs which were in the way. This is like the old house Ms. Val and Cathy lived in, they will like it here.

I explored the house a little further to see what kind of secrets I can find inside it. I don't know why, but I get too curious when I got to places I am new with or unfamiliar with. I can feel this excitement crawling within me, wondering what secrets lies in the unknown things.

I'm a bit surprised by this place though, it's not that much dirty and dusty as I have imagined. I thought that every corner of this house would be filled with dust, cobwebs, and bugs. But as I kept going deeper, there's not that much dirt as I would have expected.

As I kept exploring the house, I started noticing that there are candles that were lit. Oh no, is this house already occupied? Awe man, and here I thought I already found the perfect house for Ms. Val and Cathy. Wait, why am I worrying about that? Clearly, this house is already occupied! Which means that I'm trespassing someone else's property! Oh no, this is very bad, I should leave. But then again, what if these candles are non-ending candles? What if these candles have some sort of spell on them that prevents them from going out? Hey, I've already seen Ms. Val do magic last week and thinking that these candles have some sort of magic surrounding them, that doesn't sound crazy.

I followed the trail of lit candles and it led me into a new part of the house. This house is bigger than I thought. Outside you would think that this house is just small, but when you're inside it, it's actually pretty big. The candles led me to a room which was a library of some sort.

There was enough light in the room to see what kind of books were filling the shelves and knowing myself, I couldn't help myself with my curiosity. Upon inspecting, I found that the books were all romantic genres, well, not all of the books, but a vast majority of them are romance genres.

"What are you doing?"

And I just got caught, haven't I?
