Blueth Mendoza's POV
"Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. This can't be happening!" I said as I was hiding behind a tree, looking at Rachelle who was talking to someone else.
The person Rachelle was talking to was me! And it didn't take long for me to find out why she was here, that's because she's not here! The Rachelle I am looking at right now is the Rachelle from a story. MY story!
"Hey kiddo, what are you looking at?"
I jumped as I got scared by Ms. Val who appeared out of nowhere.
"Gah! Ms. Val! What... what are you d...doing here?" I stuttered as I tried pushing away Ms. Val, trying to make her not see Rachelle and me talking in the distance.
"Well, I was looking for you. I wanted to ask if you find something unusual."
"No, no, nothing unusual here."
"Really? Then why are you acting so unusual? You're acting a little suspicious kiddo, you hiding something?"
"What? Of course not, why would I be hiding something from you? Ms. Val the great proofreader." I said as I gave the most awkward and suspicious smile ever in the history of all smiles. Ms. Val just looked at me with her eyebrow raised, indicating that she doesn't believe me. "Say, since we are having a hard time looking for the Mistake in this book, why won't we just leave this book and just proofread another one?"
"If only it was that simple kid, but we can't leave a book until we finished proofreading it, meaning we have to capture that Mistake before we can leave. So unless we find it, we'll be stuck here in this book."
Ms. Val said as she started walking away from the other direction, away from the scene where me and Rachelle are talking. I saw Ms. Val walk around the corner and I let out a sigh of relief as I looked back at me and Rachelle, well, book me and book Rachelle. I can't believe I am so careless.
You may be wondering why I'm acting like this or why I didn't let Ms. Val see the scene of me talking to Rachelle. To tell you the truth, I wrote a story about me and Rachelle.
It was supposed to be my secret, I wasn't supposed to let anyone know about the story I wrote about me and Rachelle because I don't want anyone else to know that I'm starting to have feelings for Rachelle or something. But since that I made a mistake and accidentally grabbed my book with the story of me and Rachelle, I have to come clean. But I must try my best to keep it a secret as much as I can and not let Ms. Val know about this.
I don't even know why or how my book got there in the first place. I let out another sigh as I started walking away from the scene of me and Rachelle talking and caught up with Ms. Val.
"So, why were you acting all weird earlier?"
"H-huh? Weird? I haven't seen anything weird, what's weird? You? No, you're not weird Ms. Val. Nothing's weird here. And I'm not gay! You're gay!"
"Wha?" Ms. Val stopped walking and looked at me with this confused expression on her face. "Okay, you know what? Something is definitely wrong with you. Start talking before you miss this chance of opening up."
I froze in place as Ms. Val looked at me. Not wanting to talk or say anything because I was afraid that I might say something which would give away the fact that I wrote a story about me and Rachelle.
"Well? Spill it out." Ms. Val then placed her hands on both of my shoulders and started shaking me. "Start talking!"
"I don't know what to say." I said as Ms. Val kept shaking me. But she suddenly stopped as she has her face looking behind me. It looks like she's looking at something which is of far distance. "Ms. Val? What's wrong? Have you spotted the Mistake?"
Ms. Val wasn't responding and just kept looking at the thing which was behind me.
"Blueth? Why are there two of you?"
My eyes grew wide as I started panicking, not knowing what to do now that Ms. Val saw the book version of me. But maybe I can tell her that she's seeing things and distract her or something!
"What? How can there be two of me when there's only one Blueth Mendoza, and that's me. I can't possibly have a long-lost twin or something. Right?"
Ms. Val didn't respond to what I was saying and just kept staring at the book version of me.
"Uh, uh, hey look! Isn't that the Mistake!" I yelled as I pulled the sleeves of Ms. Val's sweater and tried getting her attention to stop focusing on my book version. But Ms. Val didn't move, she kept staring at it.
"Something's not right here." Ms. Val said as she took my hand off from holding her sleeves and started walking towards the book version of me. I'll just call the book version of me, book me since the other name for it is so long.
"Ms. Val! Wait!" I grabbed Ms. Val by her scarf and tried stopping her from walking any closer to the book me. I was surprised how strong Ms. Val is, she didn't stop moving even though I was already pulling on her scarf, I just got dragged along while she kept walking. I'm talking about how strong Ms. Val is, I should talk about how strong her scarf is, it managed to drag me along, plus, Ms. Val didn't get choked. What's this thing made out of?
Book me and book Rachelle were talking to each other as Ms. Val stopped in front of them.
"Hey, Blueth!"
"Yes, Ms. Val?" I answered as I looked at Ms. Val.
"Not you, the other Blueth!"
Ms. Val started waving her hands in front of the book me and started shaking it to get its attention, but as Ms. Val said, the characters of the book don't notice proofreaders.
"Heh, so that explains why you were acting all weird earlier." Ms. Val smiled as she looked at me.
"What? What weird? What are you talking about Ms. Val? I don't know what you're talking about. Nothing's weird! Everything's fine!"
Ms. Val leaned in front of me as she placed her hands on my shoulders. "You made a fan fiction book about you and Rachelle, haven't you?"
"Uhh... Noooo?"
